    Hotels

Thanks for your help folks, A couple of ideas to persue at least. I have always left it late to get tickets which suppose doesn't help my cause. Promised myself i will get them before xmas this time.
  2. Hello All, I know this is prob an old chestnut to the regulars on here, but am i pretty much waisting my time trying to get a hotel for the evening of the GP on 25th June ? The first four or five traditional chains such as premier inn / holiday inn etc are all booked as expected. Are there a range of B&B's available that are not so well advertised ? Or does anyone have any recommendations with potential spaces availilable? Looking to room me the missus and my 2 kiddies with a limit of about 100 quid. Thanks in advance.

    The Speedway Stig

With all the recent publicity surrounding the identity of the BBC Stigg, it has got me thinking of a new concept / idea to get some extra folks thru the Turnsiles. Its Ambitious ! Move over BBC stig, Go back in your hole Moley... It's time to unleash the Speedway Stigg (Spelt differently for copyright reasons haha) The Speedway Stigg, Complete Black Leathers (With Stigg Logo) ,Black bike covers, Helmet, boots etc with reflective Goggles. SS is driven into the stadium in race gear and into a cordoned off pit area and hidden behind sponsored pit boards (G.P Style) The pre meeting presentation goes ahead as normal but where is the pre advertised appearence of the Stigg, yes thats him sitting on the centre green in his deck chair reading the Speedway Star ! The event / build up - Stigg is to race against the competing clubs No 1 rides during the meeting interval + 1 invitation. The Race - Stigg enters the track just before the 2 minutes interval. In the meantime the other riders are preparing at the gate. digging,Practice Starts etc...Not Stigg, he calmly rides onto the track, no practice starts, no digging and waits patiently at the tapes... oh the excitement ! The Race - Stigg leaves his competitors in his dust with a distinctive leg trailing start (Guessed who he is yet ?) he masters and powers his way around the circuit. And why is he so confident ? Yes the stigg is special and as such has special equipment, a highly tuned 600CC motor compliments of Ashley Holloway (Ok a bit far fetched, but the punters wouldn't know) but to guarantee Stigg is competative and nearly always wins regarless of the big engine, there is only one candidate, he fits the bill, even when at the height of his career he resembled the black stig, the one... the only...the Professor... Mr Hans Neilsen ! The Logistics, The Stigg tour takes in the majority of U.K tracks as required. A bit like the Briggo tour this year only more exciting. It would almost certainly be part of the SGP in Cardiff - Here he would race a former world champion or high profile rider depending on his commitment to the actual event. Beats Ruth Lorenzo and co... Ok so it may be all a dream, and Hans maybe a bit too old to take on the role of Stigg, but what about Loramsky, Havelock, Adams ? All i know is when i ask my 8 year old Nephew if he wants to come down the Speedway to see the "Speedway Stigg" i think it would get his attention... He may even want to buy a Speedway Stigg T Shirt, Pen, Hat, Coat....£££££$$$$$$$$£££££££££££ and come back in the future when he has experienced our beloved sport first hand. Like i said, may be all a pipe dream folks, but i would love to see ideas like this explored by the powers that be, i really would !

    British Sgp Decline

Just negativity all the time, this year was my first time at Cardiff and i thought it was the dogs testicles. A big fat well done to all involved !! I will be back next year, absolutely love the G.P series.

    Dudley Heath Or Cradley Heath?

I struggled with the whole "dudley" thing for a while and was even more put off when i saw Ashley Morris pictured signing a contract for Wolves. It just didn't sit comfortable with me and i know that may seem shallow and negative, but when you grew up seeing Cradley at its best and see something like that happen it still hurts. I just wish the young lads could go back in time for one Saturday eve at the wood in its hey day and experience what it was like with the likes of Bruce and Erik and realise what the Heathens name means to us. But beggers can't be choosers and i have started to go along to the Dudley meetings of late and have enjoyed it. Some good talent such as Perry who like someone said earlier in this thread are destined for the Auld enemies.
  6. Anyone got any info re the Sky coverage. The cricket is over so will they switch to other channel ?
  7. Oh Dear, Looks like ignoring the whole thing until later in the day and hope Sky replay the whole show. Very angry !
  8. Boll*x...absolute boll*x. so i watch it all week and wont be able to see the final.....disgrace !
  9. Well what a depressing place that Vojens looks like. every bit of coverage i have seen from there over the years it looks cold, damp and flamim miserable. It's only getting the big events cus Olsen owns it. Can't beleive they have a G.P later in the year there also. If it is the Red button tomorrow then i will be extremely p*ssed off cus i have virgin and can't access it.

    Swc Race Off

I hope the Australians miss out tonight, Sweden to Win and the Danes Second. I'm not a fan off this ozzy / Poole clan treating everything as a big joke.
  12. Well done team G.B !! Fantastic result and i agree with what some one wrote on here earlier, the australians were mucking around to much with the helmet cam and pretty much assumed they would win the heat after steady got excluded. I was thinking what Crump and Adams would of said if they was there ? Only negative for me was the thing took so bloody long again with to many delays, i know there was a few spills but come on, 4 hours coverage for less than 30 mins racing ! they have quickened the SGP up but not the SWC ? I can never understand why after a tape infringment they just can't just go round to the tapes again and get racing instead of faffing around ?
  13. Following my visit to Cardiff SGP this year i was so annoyed at the problems with the screen and the sound system i wrote to IMG complaining. I have since had a reply stating a whole new system is being installed for next year including 2 of the biggest screens in the UK and a brand new sound system. Was surprised i even got a reply tbh, but this should make the experience even better !

    Cardiff Grand Prix

Hi All, First time at Cardiff and am still buzzing even today. One thing that was poor though and i know loads have commented on it is the P.A system. What means do us fans have to communicate this back to the powers that be. If they have the ambition to grow the event further, surely there must be a feedback channel ?
