King’s Lynn 2024 serious team predictions
szkocjasid replied to SpeedwayFan91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As I made this comment (obviously a joke) before the latest cancellation, perhaps I was actually right? -
As far as I know assessed riders in the Champ get a new average after 8 matches, yet Boughen & Killeen have been given new averages after 6 matches (3 last year, 3 this year). Is that a new rule or have the BSPL made a mistake? It makes a difference if Oxford were planning to use up their spare points, but it looks like they're not. Kinda surprised tbh, seems odd to sign 2 x 2.00 riders who will put points on their averages, but not gain the full advantage of that by building so far under the limit.

King’s Lynn Stars v Leicester Lions - Thursday 9th May

On their starting averages, Brummies would be delighted to use guests, not so much when they've got new averages. -

Spotted that too, really they should be more up to date than that. -

Even if I agree with you in Principle that it's unfair to ride without Wojdylo, there's no reason for Lynn to postpone the match less than a week before it's due to be raced. The Polish fixtures were already scheduled when the original match was postponed in March. Why re-arrange on this date? Using your words why can’t some morons understand that!? It really honestly baffles me why people still can’t understand? -
Oxford Cheetahs vs Poole Pirates BSN 2nd Leg 8/5/24
szkocjasid replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
There's a big difference, Oxford have 6.25 available to replace Atkins who is averaging under 1.00 this year, while Poole could only replace Perry with another 2.00 rider. If Oxford are serious about challenging for trophies, they need to use up their spare 1.97 points before Killeen & Boughen get new averages. -

While I was joking, it actually could be quite a close match! 1 Max Fricke 8.51 2 Richard Lawson 6.56 3 Sam Masters 6.91 4 Luke Becker 6.45 5 Ryan Douglas 7.31 6 Drew Kemp 4.54 7 Sam Hagon 3.00 1 Ben Basso 6.68 2 Zach Cook 5.53 3 Tom Brennan 6.37 4 Ben Cook 5.85 5 Nicolai Klindt 6.48 6 Tobias Thomsen 4.00 7 Max Perry 3.00 -

Since Leicester were already due, could they not have run a Poole (using 5 Lynn riders) vs Leicester match for the Jubilee League instead? -

That's the question the SCB should be asking. -

I'd agree with you if he changed the date 4 weeks ago & announced a new date at the same time. That would have been much more professional for postponing at short notice for being "under strength". If as soon as the Polish meetings were announced he put out a new date, explaining the dates were swapped so they'd have a full team, I think people would've been more understanding. -
Redcar v Scunthorpe, 3/5/2024; Cab Direct Championship
szkocjasid replied to pvm's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If he can carry on like he started the season, gives Scorpions a real sting in the tail (pun intended). But is also guaranteed to stay at reserve no matter how many he scores, due to Scunthorpe's strong top 5. -

I'll go for Oxford 44-46 Poole. Oxford's strong top 2 vs Poole's strong top 4. -
The way the averages are going, Brummies could sign Schlein for Milik & Pawlicki could end up at reserve. Surely he'd score a bundle from there? Won't turn them into a strong team, but will make them a stronger team.

Poland can do what they like & ignore any agreement. Let's be honest, who is going to stop them. If the BSPL force riders to choose between riding in Poland & Britain, the league will need to be a lot weaker. -

Musielak was always going to miss the fixture. Do you honestly believe hundreds of fans would have stayed away if Simon Lambert or Craig Cook guested for Wojdylo? Very very unlikely, fans are used to guests for many reasons. So there's no evidence Lynn would lose thousands of pounds. So postponing is the wrong thing to do. Besides it's not the "speedway community" Buster has to argue against but the SCB when the enquiry happens. -

That is so unprofessional, as soon as it was postponed, should've been on the website, FB & twitter asap -

I'm curious, would this have been allowed if the meeting was due to be on Eurosport? -

I agree it's a shame for Lynn, but is postponing the meeting really the most suitable action? -

What would happen if Doyle (9.18) was missing for Ipswich & they wanted to use Jack Holder (8.89) as a guest, but he wasn't available, so had to settle for Brady Kurtz (8.72) instead, would they be allowed to postpone the meeting due to being understrength? Now they've allowed it, where do you draw the line? -

szkocjasid replied to StarBoy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If they are going to allow teams to call off matches due to being under strength (which I don't agree with) surely there has to be a minimum amount of riders missing i.e more than two? If Lynn are doing this to save on lost income, I can understand that, but they shouldn't be allowed to do it to gain league points. Perhaps they should be deducted 2 league points, so a win in the re-staging is no better than a loss on the night (except for Leicester losing out on points)? -

Simon Lambert commented on FB that no one asked him to ride, he'd be a fair replacement for Wojdylo, especially after his great performances last year. -

Completely disagree, postponing this match doesn't hurt Poland in the slightest. Only messes up Lynn & Leicester fans who've planned to go. Besides what if Wojdylo was available but had gotten injured, are they allowed to cancel the meeting because they don't want to use a guest who may not score as much? -

Exactly, plus look at Birmingham. You could say they had Evan under strength side, but at least they don't call off meetings because of it.
