Speedway always used to test after meetings as well, I suppose the testing team are on double time at the time in the night so this is the cheaper option... but would you want somebody under the influence of vicks night nurse starting a speedway meeting?

That’s the reason certain painkillers and the like are banned in cycling, don’t want someone nodding off in the middle of the peloton

I see the comparison, however the incident occurred off the track before the meeting had started. So using your football analogy the match wouldn't have started and a replacement to the starting 11 would be used.

The argument can go back and forward with what's the solution, take Boxers for example, they get tested any time and if caught a replacement can be brought in so the boxing fixture isn't cancelled.

The point I was trying to make earlier is the SCB are trying to run a professional anti doping scheme in an extremely amateur run sport.

If you and I get sick we go to boots and get stuff to make us feel better, we go to the doctor's or dentist and are prescribed medication we take it. WADA rules say this isn't allowed.

These aren't "elite athletes" they are brickys, roofers, factory workers who ride bikes with no breaks for 5 months of the year.

If they wanna play big boy/person/toaster  games then have random samples anytime 24/7,  365 days.

The racing may not have started but the meeting started when the riders sign in , sports like football and athletics usually do the testing after the match or race has finished and they are suspended from the next match or whatever

Hope it’s no true as I really like Complin as a rider but from what everyone who was at the meeting last night was saying, it seems like this is going to end only one way.
Will be the first to hold my hands up if I’m wrong

Is that the sound of a reversing alarm I hear, with a u-turn like that you should be a politician, or maybe it was just a fishing trip looking for a few bites , if it was looks like you were successful

  4. If it's something like a Lemsip or Night Nurse that causes a rider to provide a non-negative sample I still find it strange that this would happen especially after all the publicity from recent events . These types of medications are can cause drowsiness, that's one of the reasons they are banned .   Surely by now riders know what's on the banned  list and I'm sure team bosses will have stressed to their riders to be careful about what they are taking . If it's something stronger the I've no sympathy for any rider who fall foul of the testing regime. They're bound to know that there's always a chance that they might get tested. In both scenarios it's sheer stupidity if you get caught,.

He'll remain suspended until the fine is paid.

Somebody (I can't remember who, a Reading rider maybe) from years ago never paid his and never rode again

In regards to the £3,000 fine that Richie had to pay (rightly or wrongly I don't care to debate)

Is this money going into the running of the sport in the country, the development of youth and facilities...

    OR

is this money being spent on the promoters p!ss up in Tenerife...

This sport is ran by complete and utter tw@ts, so I think I know the answer... But I'm open to be proven wrong...

I thought that money from fines  went to the Ben Fund

I agree, that final race of the season was really good. Shame Rea slipped off, he so wanted a win on his last ride for Kawasaki. So did Toprak, last ride on a Yamaha, but he just took a little too much on that last bend and gave it to Bautista. Mind you, Bautista didn’t really to race that hard, he won the world championship on Saturday, so well done to him pushing all the way.

Yeah , I was a bit disappointed to see that, Alex Lowes had a very lucky escape I the sprint race , I don't think I've ever seen an incident like that before

Disrespect is disrespect in my eyes, lets keep this sport positive.

Personally I felt Steve Boxall going straight into the pits without finishing the heat was far more disrespectful than a showman celebrating in front of his own supporters but I guess you're  probably one of those people  who doesn't like football players who celebrate scoring goals against their old clubs
