    Team Building For 2011

please dont get me wrong we have had very helpful advice and some very unhelpful advice ,the people have always been more than welcoming, but what im saying is the lads need consistincy, i know a very good young lad who had to be forced to a track by his dad because he would just fall apart when older riders were there ,the same with my lad, surely we could ease them in some better way,. Also i take the point of some lads getting better quicker than others its always going to happen. As just a bit of parent frustration can we not look how other countries are doing it,there producing broods of good youngsters and sadly it doesnt bode well for the future

if you think 500 are expensive to maintain then youd cry at 250s, i take the point about more training tracks operating, i was just going on the localish tracks,i think what im saying, is when youve got kids that are riding, even at a training session where adults are about, they seem not to want to be there .talking to other dads the kids seem to be so intimidated. What i would like to see is probaly a 3 hour session before the main practice, just for learners and younger novices, with instuctors for them ,youve got to remember some of these lads are stiil at primary school, there still very young we really do need to remember that,i do know there are exceptions and you will always get that, but if we dont train them as kids we lose them and we will never have home grown talent,im proud of what my lad has acheived but with the right help, what may he acheive

we have done cant fault it,its just the lack of help for kids, they have a go then hit a brick wall, i know theres some good kids out there, but will they keep interested, you have seen the under 15 only 5 or 6 riders where are the rest gone, same as my lad no training on big tracks, chucked in at the deep end and they walk away ,we need to make it fun for them and encourage these lads where else do you see such a poor outlook

i really agree with you but everybody seems to be missing the point speedway in this country is so hard for a normal lad,the costs are just to much to get to a good level, basicaly £100 a practice on average,so many young good lads ive seen forced to pack up because of financial reasons.there is no support for good juniors, nobody spots them ,what i want to see is academys to bring lads on,let them train cheaply and then we could have a good national league and maybe junior racing, promotors dont really care about the future speedway is in the doldrums and i cant see a way foward

its ok calling for bans on this and bans on that, but the basic problem is that the costs to ride speedway are just beyond most peoples pocket, i would love to see all british riders and good crowds supporting, but its not happening,we have to ask why do aussie produce so many good youngsters? simple our grass roots is total rubbish, scunny ,rye and sittingbourne poss are the only tracks to train on regular and its not cheap i know.Talk to motocrossers and they cant beleive £35 .00 for ten minutes racing, they just dont think it value for money, im not taking away from the hard work of many people out there but why is the sky money not coming down to the bottom level somebody tell me what the bspa actually do,

    Mildenhall Speedway

it would be nice idea,i dont think the world of speedway lends itself to any youngsters, my lad rides ,hes young got some raw talent not my words though, but struggles to find at times a track to ride.I dont know but maybe mildenhall missed an opening there, rye house and scunny seem to be on the bandwagon doing a good job as well. I too find some peoples comments a bit of a put off from the sport, the financial costs are terrible at the moment, we really would like a jawa 250 but just cant afford one at the moment,so for riders who dont get paid it must be a double whammy and can see villageidiot point of view and i have every sympathy with him, after all its very hard watching your kids put there neck on the line for entertainment.Maybe theres a way to run but the crowds are so poor and really although i have to say it myself its just not value for money at the turnstiles anymore and far to expensive for the parents of young riders so you just cant win

    Team Place Tim Webster

why doesnt tim tell them he was born in aussie while his mum and dad were on holiday, so he could technically be aussie they ll be coming out in there droves, dont have to be any good either cant lose
  9. Well i can see were on the same track, my lad recently started riding and hes doing ok , but how do you explain to your child that if you get to a good level,we cant afford for you to race. Its not what any parent wants to say , but its the reality of speedway to most of us.As an instance when we need parts and pass out at the price were gleefily told "its the exchange rate mate" but its not just us thats in recesion. There is maybe a way for us mortals look at what there doing with pit bike engines its probaly the brits only.
  10. whats the way foward , took my two lads to watch speedway for first time last year, 7.45pm start till 10.00pm they saw 15 races at 60 secs each. this left 2 hours when they were bored and they couldnt even prounounce the riders names as there wasnt even a british rider racing. So this evening cost me 35 quid to see a bunch of foreigners take the money, not helped any of our british lads cause the league is swamped by foreigners and even the mention of "going to speedway"to the kids results in a loud BOOORING.Well i dont know the answer but if you cant get youngsters to watch were really struggling, but i do no i want to watch british riders like Carl Wilkinson who will always give it a go rather than foregn riders any day.I just beleive its right look after our own. ps before any body says im not a rascist or a Scunthorpe supporter just want to see speedway survive.
