    Rye House 2020

Looking over the fence it is not looking good, all the banking from the bends has been removed to centre green level and is now a 15 foot pile of shale just before the entrance of the 3rd bend.

    Mcn Festival Of Speed

They should race a speedway bike against a flattracker to show the superior speed of a speedway bike
  3. I'll look at the general lee from the dukes of hazard in different light now!

    Risk...acceptable Or Unacceptable?

The 70's 2 valve Jawa handbook claims 48 bhp @ 8000 rpm, current GM's are making around 80 bhp.......

    Risk...acceptable Or Unacceptable?

If they are the same make as ours with a red stripe then they are the softer type.

    Risk...acceptable Or Unacceptable?

The tyres supplied this year are a softer rubber compound, hence more grip.

    Just Imagine…….

Would be good if charging a tenner, it increased that crowd of 500 up to 1000. I have spoken to a few people lately who say they used to go and enjoyed going but found it became to expensive and haven't been since. I also appreciate you know the costs of running speedway.

    Baaah...

Can't see why Nicki was excluded because Kildermand turned early and tried to block him.

    Gerhard Engine

Well as I have said before have a rule that says the winning engine can be bought for at least full retail price at the end of the meeting. That should stop anyone spending £50,000 on 10 engines to make a good one.
  10. I see Rye house were missing Kasper on Monday because he crashed and injured himself in Poland.

    Bspa Meeting...

Don't worry there will always be speedway, but riders will have to pay to race just like in go karts and moto x. Did the poster's around town pay off for long eaton, is it still going strong.

    Cost Cutting - How

Then have a clause that any one can buy the winning engine from the rider for retail price plus a bit more to cover the cost of an engine rebuild the rider might have incurred.

    Cost Cutting - How

Virtually every rider has a GM any way, so the BSPA should get a camshaft developed to make some usable mid range power, fit rev limiters and use air filters that actually filter the dust out of the air also ultimately have an oil filter on the engine and these engines now used would be bullet proof. This should be paid for by the BSPA and use type approved homologated parts.
  14. That was in the past, remember your only as good as your last race. Well done Chris.

Hopes For The Pl In 2015

There is nothing stopping riders maintaining there own engines,in fact I personally find it easier to remove the head and barrel from a gm compared to how you had to on a weslake or 2 valve jawa, never did enjoy putting the head back on my 2 valve jawa with them funny square bolts.

    Darcy Ward

Funny old game, so what is worse Darcy 0.03 over the limit and would be fully in control of his machine or riders that get a bang on their head, dislocate their shoulder, injure legs and arms in a crash and go in the rerun and the ones that come from injury and can just about hold on to the bike. Not sticking up for Darcy, just an observation.

    Most Bizarre Exclusions......

It would be fair, because it’s a race track and there should not be adverts hanging unsecure on the air fence. Think of the riders safety not a five one.

    Silencers

It seems this is carrying on under the Gorzow gp-30th August Thread.

    Pjr Engines

    Yep, gm's and Jawa's
  20. ford

    Pjr Engines

Well this is what happens with highly tuned race engines with no rev limiter, they keep revving until they crap themselves. PJR is an engine tuner not a manufacture, as the first post seems to imply.

    Darcy Ward

Changing the main jet on a speedway bike carburettor is a way of covering your hand with methanol, this is a very regular practice at speedway meetings. So as methanol is very high in alcohol content could a rider be over the zero limit by having methanol soak in the skin of his hand?

    Mitas Vs Golden Tyres?

This 1 tyre per meeting supplied at the track on the day of the meeting began in the 90’s, because some riders were soaking their tyres in thinners to make them softer for more grip when the track became slicker.

    Sky 2014

Speedway costing riders £10.00 per lap, to maintain good equipment perhaps you need put something back in your account.
  24. I do believe the BSPA paid around £80,000 to a marketing company some years ago, anyone know if it was a waste of money or did it help promote the sport.

    More Corners Needed?
