I think one Rider who could be in with the best of the Riders you mention would be Joe Owen.

Mine would be - Ray Wilson, Terry Betts, Malcolm Simmons, John Louis, Martin Ashby, Eric Boocock & Nigel Boocock...but then again!
My pick would be to swap Ray Wilson for Malcolm Simmons Steve. Otherwise I agree with the rest.

I had occasion to speak with Eric once on the 'phone. What a charming man he was.
One of the great journalists who captivated me when I was reading 'Speedway Star' all those years ago.
A writer I much admired.
R.I.P. + Eric.

COVID-19 Fatality Rate by AGE:
*Death Rate = (number of deaths / number of cases) = probability of dying if infected by the virus (%). This probability differs depending on the age group. The percentages shown below do not have to add up to 100%, as they do NOT represent share of deaths by age group. Rather, it represents, for a person in a given age group, the risk of dying if infected with COVID-19.

Mmmmmmm - I wish you hadn't posted this Chart. I'm far too near the to for my liking.

Ooops!!
Edited.

Reg Fearman ( a great speedway historian and a stickler for accuracy in his own right) recently sent me a copy of a poster advertising a WCQR meeting at West Ham from years ago and listing the riders-the date was August 30th. It was either 1949 or 1950-Reg is pretty sure it was 1949-he's probably right but I don't know. Can somebody post the riders scores and heat details for whichever year it was . Again many thanks to all forumlanders for keeping the history of our wonderful sport alive and accurate. Does anyone know the details of this meeting and which year it took place, it was obviously a tremendous field of riders-if only those days could come back!!!
I totally agree - but sadly they won't.

Used to get tired of looking out of the window on Speedway days. More often than not rain would be falling, or, it would look like rain.
This Spring is exceptional - typical that everyone is stuck at home. I agree with the lock down though.
I hope everyone stays safe.
