  1. Australian star Troy Batchelor says he is ready for a Grand Prix wild card after impressing in the Speedway World Cup last week. The Peterborough racer led his countrys scorechart with 13 points in the Race-Off at Gorzow, before bagging 10 in the SWC Final to help Craig Boyces men carry off the silver medals. Batchelor has been in red-hot form all over the continent this year, frequently putting in meeting-winning performances for Panthers in the Elite League, Leszno in Poland and Lejonen in Sweden. Had he been involved in this years SGP qualifiers, he would have been a decent bet to reach the GP Challenge at Vetlanda. He missed out after withdrawing from the four-round Australian Championship in January, in which his countrys four qualification places were up for grabs. Motorcycling Australia didnt take up the option to grant him one of these spots in the international rounds. To guarantee his place for next year, Batchelor admits he could make the trip Down Under over the winter. But the 23-year-old feels he is ready to have a shot at the worlds biggest names this year. He said: The wild cards have got to be an option for me pretty soon. I didnt do the qualifiers because I didnt get picked to do it, so it was out of the window this year. But Im out there to show what Im made of and I did it two meetings in a row last week. Asked whether he will compete in his homeland in the winter, Batchelor replied: Ill have to see what happens at the time. Its a long way away. In this last year I had just bought a house and I just wanted to have a rest. Well see what happens closer to the end of the year, but it is definitely an option. Batchelor emerged as a genuine force on the world stage in Gorzow, but he still left the Edward Jancarz Stadium dejected that he didnt have more than a silver medal in his back pocket. He said: Im kind of happy with second, but we didnt gain second, we lost first. Poland were a lot of points down. We really had them running. In the end, I dont know exactly what happened, but we didnt have the best gates in the last four or five races. We tried our best and we had Poland behind us for a while, but we couldnt quite pull it off in the end. We all rode fantastically; we just didnt quite get there. Poland were on a Polish track and with the Polish fans behind them, it helped. At just 23-years-old, Batchelor has plenty more SWCs ahead of him. With the likes of Tomasz Gollob and Piotr Protasiewicz set to retire from the Polish team in the coming years, the Brisbane-born racer is certain the balance of power in world speedway will shift in Australias favour. He said: Weve got a young team. Chris is young, Darcy is 19 and Im young. Poland are running out of time. SpeedwayGP Site.

    Swc Changes Needed ?

I don't want it in Denmark as the tracks are poor and Poland again would be boring. Why not in Australia at the MCG with a audience of 90,000 people. That would be awesome.

    Swc Changes Needed ?

Why not hold the final at the Millenium Stadium. Sell the tickets before Team GB get eliminated in order to get a good attendance. There should be a independant doctor at the meeting and they should judge whether a reserve can come in.

    Swc Final Line Ups

Australia would smash them in Australia. Why is there never a World Cup event in Australia. If the final was in Australia, The Poles would get utterly smashed.

    Swc Final Line Ups

Troy Batchelor = 10 Points Darcy Ward = 4 Points Time for Batch to enter the GP scence.

    Swc Final Line Ups

Ward and Watt cost them. Holder and Batch at the Showground next season would be amazing. Batchelor was superb and he managed to beat Gollob.

    Swc Final Line Ups

What was Nicki doing? He is obviously being paid by his Polish league bosses. I have turned it off, This is corrupt.
  23. iNikeAguero

    Swc Final Line Ups

Corrupt, Nicki and Ward were level, It should of been a dead heat. You need evidence to change a heat result. It should of remained. Don't blame Batch, It's Wards fault. 1. For being shocking all night 2. For trying to finish 3rd.

    Swc Final Line Ups

Ward and Watt have cost the Aussies. If Sullivan replaced one of these clowns then we would of won. Holder and Crump are class and Batch is sharp from the gate but his bike is slow. Aussies are really the champions, Poland have to win by 4 points as that removes the Joker element to be the true champions.
