    Speedway,photography, naturism, but mainly speedway.
speedway fan since 1969,Halifax,Bradford & now Sheffield until such time as another track opens in West Yorks.
  1. My son persuaded himself & myself to return to Sheffield tonight, after abstaining since the end of June, due to the £10 entrance fee & the promise of a full team, well we got in for a tenner, but as for the full team ?, but nothing had changed, same boring crap, a couple of storming rides from Hall, but not much to say about the rest, though what a different story from Simon Lambert,Entertainment with a capital 'E', he is a joy to watch, big mistake not keeping him this year, he would have lifted the team & supporters spirits. We'll not bother going next week, unless Ipswich book Simon as a guest.

    Flawless

Attendance down about 9000 on last year, time to cut the number of price categories to 3 or 4 at the most, top price max of £60 for trackside, £40 for 1st tier & £25 the gods. I'd love to see the place full. Also why are all the presentations made to the home straight when that is the least populated. Racing was,I thought of a good standard, particularly the 2 semi's.
  3. And you still finished above Sheffield !
  4. “At Sheffield we are lucky that we have such a good drainage system at Owlerton, probably the best in the country, Glad someone found this quote, knew I'd read it somewhere , but couldn't find it. This rain-off is a joke. we had a 5 minute downpour between 4 & 5pm & the rest of the evening is forecast to be dry & sunny,BBC.
  5. People are quite able to stand without railings to lean on, there are none around the rest of the stadium ! Last time it was opened I think it was restricted to 750, which would at least relieve the pressure on the rest of the stadium. Another thing, where are all the visitors cars to be parked ? carpark only holds enough for a league match.
  6. Good point on facebook from Steve Pearce regarding opening back straight for this meeting, I think it's a must, even if numbers are limited, viewing is much better there than the gently sloping home straight, which when full, offers relatvely poor viewing, particularly for kids & shorter people..
  7. Who's traveling the furthest to Marks meeting ?, My son & I are going from Barnsley S.Yorkshire, great fans of Mark from when he rode for Bradford in 1997, My son was only eight at the time but Mark has remained his favourite rider ever since. Just hope the rain stays away, cant afford another trip & overnight stay.
