    That statement speaks volumes!!!

I am sure you are right, however you must know as well as anybody that this situation is not down to Peterborough Speedway. Possibly it was naïve to think EOES would not put their oar in.

Ged is being very cagey about this and even an e mail to the club produces only an equivocal response. You know and I know this is entirely down to EOES but as has been said before such is the tenuous relationship with the landlord that direct criticism is not an option. With the BSPA baying for blood Ged needed this like a hole in the head.

Whilst your situation invokes sympathy again like many others you have no idea or understanding of the relationship between EOES and Speedway

It is not unknown for the showground to give the ok as has happened in this case and then decide another event will take longer than expected then ask ( demand) that Speedway fits in with this.

Regarding the organisers and the Showground you have idea what you are talking about. The Showground calls the shots and like it or not Speedway likes it or lumps it.

What people should understand is that EOES act like they are doing us a personal favour by allowing Speedway at all

The answer to that question is in this weeks Speedway Star

Suggest those that are not happy make their feelings known to Showground management. Not that they will care one jot.

Most including the organisers would likely agree with you. But as said earlier doubtful there was much choice, Showground management tend to ride rough shod over Speedway when it suits them. My suspicion is that Speedway is just fitted in around other events and is purely on a meeting by meeting basis with no formal contract. You will never hear the Speedway promotion being critical of the Showground probably I suspect because the reply will likely to be "if you don't like it do the other thing"

My understanding is that change in start time is entirely down to the Showground, and the Peterborough Promotion and Ben Fund Organisers had no say in the matter. This happened a couple of times last season when the Showground bosses decided that their event should take priority over Speedway. Unfortunately at any venue which is not owned by the Speedway promotion the relationship with the landlords is to say the least tenuous...

Apologise for rant but I am pretty certain the Simon Stead meeting was originally scheduled for the same day as Ben Fund at Leicester.

A total shambles clearly due to Simon Stead meeting the same day . What idiot would schedule two meetings like this on same day and geographically so near?

Ged has always admitted that regarding Holder he broke the rules, the issue has always been that he asked "the Lincolnshire poacher on a Friday night" what the consequences would be. The highest authority chose to believe Ged's version..

I do not and never have supported Ged regarding Holder. However I do believe his version of events as it would seem do others when the matter escalated and went to a higher authority.

I would have thought suspension and a punitive fine to say nothing about being ordered to to give free admission was pretty combative.

    Danger Ahead

At a recent event the promoters of one club inferred that the AGM did not go as well as has been claimed and not all in agreement by any means. Peterborough were not in attendance as Ged suspended and Swales retired. I understand that those in charge did not have the courtesy to inform Peterborough of the outcome.

I have given up all hope of a return to proper speedway. Seems little enthusiasm from management or most of the remaining fan base

    Nichols/kennett Rule

Normally when things go against them, where possible they make no comment at all.

If only he would listen to the sound and unbiased advice given by the likes of Mr Godfrey surely he could.

From what I gather the rule was illegal so they had no choice.
