PL may be our fate Darren. Either that or nothing. Spencebel would be happy anyway.

I have always supported the Frosts but have to say that I have serious issues with the way they have pulled out. A very relevant comment I have heard either here on on other forums is that every time they thought they were getting somewhere they had their legs cut from under them. Arguably the same fate awaits anybody who has the temerity to stand up to the mafia.

Whilst I do not necessarily agree with the new format, arguably it will bring the costs down to a more affordable level which is presumably why Birmingham, Eastbourne Belle Vu, etc feel they can stay in. It would seem therefore that there is more to all this than meets the eye. If in any case if RF is so loaded why could he not keep the club going whilst trying to find a buyer?
-
I have always defended RF as he and Peterborough have been serially shafted by those in charge and also lost money. I am not surprised that he has walked away. What I cannot forgive is the way it has been done and the timing, virtually ensuring no Panthers next season even if a buyer could be found. From this point of view he is far worse than previous owners. They at least found a buyer before leaving Panthers in the lurch.

Are Kings Lynn likely to cough up the money to Peterborough if NKI returns? -
NKI lives in Peterborough

A Rhetorical question I assume. -

Not many other than the most avid Poole fans will feel any joy at this outcome, and jealousy does not come into it. -
Peterborough V Belle Vue El 11/10/2013
wealdstone replied to TesarRacing's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Interestingly when asked about this meeting over the weekend in Torun, Belle Vue Promoter Chris Morton denied all knowledge of it. -
Premier League?? Sod that for a game of soldiers.

I think most would agree that walking out was the wrong call. On the other hand it is generally acknowledged that RF was told to F Off by Ronnie Russell.. One of the problems for those used to observing the norms of general business practice is they fail to grasp such practices do not exist within BSPA. Spivs and Wide Boys

Great rider that Peter Craven was, personally I think Brian Crutcher was better.
-
I repeat how has he demonstrated loyalty to Panthers, I agree he is a great rider, but loyalty????? From what I recall he used any excuse to avoid riding, from an ingrowing toenail , to inflamed Chalfonts.
-
I was there at both world championships he won.
-
In what way has he demonstrated his loyalty to Panthers?

I think we need some indication from the owners regarding their intentions for next season before we start thinking of team make up.

No changes other than cosmetic will happen whilst Speedway is run by the present regime. They are only interested in themselves and maintaining the status quo where the sport is run by a cartel for the benefit of a chosen few. They cannot and will not see that they are slowly driving the sport into oblivion!!!!!.
-
It seems to me that Mr Frost call it a day and who could blame him. You cannot win when Speedway is run by a Cartel for their own narrow self interest. They however may find that their behaviour comes back to bite them in the bum. In paying transfer fees for Batchelor and Sundstrom Mr Frosts injection of capital must have been a god send to the promoters concerned. Especially Swindon who received a transfer fee and now feel it quite acceptable to have the rider back for free.

British Final 13th May 2013
wealdstone replied to mdmc82's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
It will be a backward step for British Speedway if either Nicolls or Harris win " has beens or never weres" -
Seems to me that given that NKI is a Peterborough asset KL should have spoken to Peterborough first not BSPA.
-
I think exit strategy is exactly right. However I really do not see how many on this board seem to think it is perfectly acceptable to have rules that apply to some and not to others.
-
A good plan would be for Peterborough to buy every available rider then loan them out for nothing to all the rest. As an added bonus they could pay them as well..
