  1.

I'm sure people don't arrive late on purpose lol. Whilst I agree there has a been a delayed start due to the long queues on three or four occasions this season its mainly been due to the weather (delayed track prep) or road works (A47 has had diversions for at least a month) and last night because of traffic lights on the road to the stadium (which looked to be totally unnecessary as the road was only muddy after some repairs by the water company, apparently) so its thoughtful of the promotion to realise people have been delayed en route, surely?

Must be far better than starting the racing with 100's of fans outside I'd have thought!

Unless of course you were amongst the 100s already inside,

  2. How many meetings have you been to this season?I can only remember it happening twice this season maybe three times.Last night has to be put down to the traffic lights right near the stadium, once when Buster had to sort the track out as it rained just before the start.

Anyway I got to my car before 21:10 earliest finish this season I think.First time I made it to work on time when I am on nights :D

Even though we lost last night the meeting had some cracking races most notably ht13 and also ht15.But come the play-offs I think we need some gating practice the day before the matches, either we were just very poor from the gate or Poole were electric. You can't give those Poole boys a head start as most of them like our place.

I certainly do not dispute what you say but by and large if for whatever reason I arrived at a venue for just about anything late I would have expected whatever it was to have started without me.

  3. It is not about respect for others or 'late comers' that people do not bother to get there on time !!! we travelled 30 + miles and got there on time and still had to queue from A47 as there was such a volume of traffic waiting to get in to the NA due to roadworks/traffic lights just outside that I bet caught many people out that were expecting to be there on time. The main car park was full so it took just a few minutes extra time to park up and join the queue and we were told people were queuing from 6.30 so i doubt it would have ever started on time and to add insult to injury they were taking traffic lights/works away when we left after sitting in car park waiting to get out after meeting due to volume of folk that were at meeting !!!! and we were told that the work had finished prior to the meeting so blame the water company not the supporters !!!!!!! Rant over !!!

I accept your point but this has been a regular event at Kings Lynn. In fact it has happened at most meetings I have been to this season.

my view if they should start at advertised time regardless.

  4. Frankly I doubt whether standing up top the bully boy tactics is the right phrase or even who exactly the bully boys were. I suspect BSPA (who in my view were the bully boys) did nothing because they did not know what to do. Also suspect Sky had some input.

Regretably I see no future beyond the existing agreement for Coventry Speedway. Could be BSPA and winter of discontent pre empted this situation, as they made it clear that unless you were part of their cartel you had no chance..

  5. You have to wonder if even the most remote vestige of integrity is left in the sport. Take the case of RF treated as a cash cow, mafia content to let him pay two large transfer fees to get a sum of money circulating then shafted him. In the case of Troy Batchelor they were content to let him go back to Swindon with no fee and shouts of outrage when it was suggested that KL should pay for NKI.

We have cases of tracks closing owing money to both Stadium owners and riders but the lack of cash flow does not seem to have impinged on the owners lifestyle.

  6. I am not to sure myself 60%/40% that the will be in my opinion. Brum have already gone. Coventry and Eastie are in doubt. No point in running a Speedway club If you are not making money and unfortunately that's the case for some at the mo.

The thing what worries me is that if you are putting up a club for sale how can you convince new buyers?

Peterborough has the best race track in the country in my opinion and the only reason why they are still running is because of Mick Horton. Mick has stated that he wanted to save the best race track in the country and it wasn't about making money however Mick is a couple of hundred paying adults short every week just to break even.

Many feel that MH is the custodian temporary or otherwise for RF. Speculation in some quarters that financial help from the latter is required from time to time.

  7. Sad some take the view that it is divine retribution for the cancelled fixture. Peterborough management get many things wrong and a lot of their problems they bring on themselves. However this fixture is not about winning or losing but the crowd levels acheived for an experimental change of race day, which if it does not come off could threaten the very existence of Peterborough Speedway.

So lets have a good crowd and if some think Peterborough losing is a just reward for the past that is between them and their conscience.

  8. Here is a thought:

Suspect this is somehow related to Birmingham and the rider concerned also rides for another team. Ben Barker rides for Birmingham but is a Coventry asset, also Plymouth are making changes and complain about crowd levels etc. What do people think?
