  1. Not in the PL matey - the Frauds, Cooks and Russells of this world dont care about the P/L so long as they are getting the lions share of any Viewing rights money... :o

Back to the P/L that's what I say where the playing field is almost level :t: - not the E/L where money and bspa influence dictate that the playing field is sloping towards Wimbourne road every season. ;)

PL may be our fate Darren. Either that or nothing. Spencebel would be happy anyway.

  2. I have always supported the Frosts but have to say that I have serious issues with the way they have pulled out.

A very relevant comment I have heard either here on on other forums is that every time they thought they were getting somewhere they had their legs cut from under them. Arguably the same fate awaits anybody who has the temerity to stand up to the mafia.

  3. Whilst I do not necessarily agree with the new format, arguably it will bring the costs down to a more affordable level which is presumably why Birmingham, Eastbourne Belle Vu, etc feel they can stay in. It would seem therefore that there is more to all this than meets the eye. If in any case if RF is so loaded why could he not keep the club going whilst trying to find a buyer?

  4. I have always defended RF as he and Peterborough have been serially shafted by those in charge and also lost money. I am not surprised that he has walked away. What I cannot forgive is the way it has been done and the timing, virtually ensuring no Panthers next season even if a buyer could be found. From this point of view he is far worse than previous owners. They at least found a buyer before leaving Panthers in the lurch.

  5. Here's another who'll be disappointed if Niels isn't back as a Star in 2014, he's been BLOODY GOOD again this season, 100% commitment always ......... not saying that our other riders haven't given 100% but hell Niels has been 100% effective with it :D Just one more meeting to race for us in his Stars 2013 colours at Swindon in the ELRC, who's going? Will Rory be in it too I wonder?

Are Kings Lynn likely to cough up the money to Peterborough if NKI returns?

  6. I think most would agree that walking out was the wrong call. On the other hand it is generally acknowledged that RF was told to F Off by Ronnie Russell.. One of the problems for those used to observing the norms of general business practice is they fail to grasp such practices do not exist within BSPA.

  7. No changes other than cosmetic will happen whilst Speedway is run by the present regime. They are only interested in themselves and maintaining the status quo where the sport is run by a cartel for the benefit of a chosen few. They cannot and will not see that they are slowly driving the sport into oblivion!!!!!.

  8. It seems to me that Mr Frost call it a day and who could blame him. You cannot win when Speedway is run by a Cartel for their own narrow self interest. They however may find that their behaviour comes back to bite them in the bum. In paying transfer fees for Batchelor and Sundstrom Mr Frosts injection of capital must have been a god send to the promoters concerned. Especially Swindon who received a transfer fee and now feel it quite acceptable to have the rider back for free.

  9. P'boro planning their exit strategy? Trying to sell off any riders of worth incase the Sky money goes at the end of the 2013 season?

Maybe planning for a future drop into the PL or shake up of the EL/PL structure?

I think exit strategy is exactly right. However I really do not see how many on this board seem to think it is perfectly acceptable to have rules that apply to some and not to others.
