  1. An excellent night out and well worth the trip down from Leicester.

Really impressed with the work done to get the stadium up and running and the track was super smooth.

A little bit more grip round the outside especially on bends 1 & 2 and it would have been an absolutely top drawer track tonight.

If you haven’t made it there yet I would say it’s well worth a visit.

Here's my cynical view of the about to come speedway merry-go-round. Kyle Newman has a mystery illness to avoid difficult trips to Edinburgh and Glasgow for which could've reduced his July average to prevent Starkey coming in to replace him.

The young lad Killeen will need to replace Josh McDonald in order to fit Starke in, thus freeing him up to take Rowe's place with Leicester in July as his average will apparently be over 4.

Newman then probably go to Redcar, or in desperation at recent result Poole bring him in.

I know not all specific to Leicester but the intrigue in whose replacing Rowe made me choose this thread

What average will Newman have in July?

    Interesting, but untrue.

Reference to the referee's official report to the SCB on Berwick's double-header on June 5th last year -- endorsed by SCB Track Inspector Mick Bates, who was in attendance -- tells us that 30 heats (plus one re-run) were completed by 21.15, well ahead of the curfew.

Dust?  Yes, on what the report observes was a dry, sunny June evening, dust appeared after Heat 6, but was controlled.

What you imply was a meeting being rushed through to meet a curfew was in fact a meeting of 31 starts which was briskly and efficiently presented.

It must have been the prevailing wind then because on the 3rd bend it looked like we had all been to the local tanning salon lol

Agreed. Maybe limit the use of RR to twice a season per side to cover for last minute emergencies etc but otherwise unattached guests. In fairness until the actual rules are changed it will remain. I would think RR still makes Mildenhall weaker.

Home track specialists to take this but Shanes and Warren could mix it up a bit.

I thought Warren looked quite decent for Kent at Leicester last season.

Maybe, but his priority is his home track. I’d like to think that we’ll stick with him although the gaffer is not renowned for his patience. That said, what are the replacement options?

I think we should have more than enough to cover for him at home whilst he gets to grips with it but he is more important away as that is where the twin’s generally struggle at the moment.

A good friend of mine took his grandson to the Leicester v Newcastle match a couple of weeks ago, I asked him if the track was any better and he said it was utter shyte.

I have been twice since it opened despite living only 35 miles away and despite a tidy stadium and viewing area the track, parking and racing is dreadful.

And have you seen the Newcastle team?

It was always going to be a hammering.

And as others have said the racing has vastly improved over the last few years.

I think you have hit the nail on the head, looking in the pits Leicester had no togetherness just seemed like 7 individuals, not even watching races and changing track conditions just sat in the pits on their mobile phones.  Only Worrall and howarth offered any resistance imo.

They didn’t learn from the Scunthorpe match then because it appeared they weren’t watching the racing there either, time & time again going wide on bend 2 allowing the scorpions to stroll up the inside.

  8. From my view half way down the back straight, the Ref got both exclusions correct, Worrall the first time though Lawson pulled the same move on Howarth previously but Kyle backed off & King did not.

In heat 15 King just didn’t turn into bend 3 and went straight on into Richie.

Some good hard fought battles on a track a little rougher than usual.

Kemp managed to up his game and got dialled in after 2 rides which always kept Poole in the hunt, overall I’d say it was a fair enough score line.

Disagree. Team seems very nicely balanced with both Cooks, so far, doing more than their expectations. And Kemp could have scored a max last night but for a lost chain. Agree Ablitt will struggle but we knew that anyway. Kemp at reserve will get 5-6 rides with Ablitt getting 3, and would replace a Cook if they are struggling.

Might be tempting fate here but I haven’t seen Kemp have a decent meeting at Leicester yet.

Think it could go either way tonight.
