  1. I gave up at heat 7 so opinion based up to that.

    Kiri did a good job.

Kelvin excellent for the most part, cannot be easy when apart from the obvious loss of NP he is having to adapt to a new co commentator.

Jason was excellent, articulate and knowledgeable.

Ermobollox....dump him, superfluous when Brando is in the pits (and when he isn’t)

Rules explanation, understandably basic but misleading I.e. riders will wear team colours....er not all of them (race jackets don’t count).

Graphics too small for my elderly eyes.

All in all coverage was poor compared to the GPs.

Wont comment on the racing as it was almost non existent.

Alex Brady, only saw one interview but he came across as articulate  which makes a pleasant change to some TMs.

Will it tempt me back to watching at a track, NO and more of the same won’t tempt me to watch on TV

    Other opinions are available.

The actual explanation of the sport, bikes, rules etc in the first 30 minutes was excellent. Best I've seen.

Understandably Kelv is upset and lost.

Scotty would have been better commentating rather than monotone Chris Louis.

I wasn't particularly a fan but huge boots to fill with Nigel gone.

May be they will have to find an experienced commentator from other genres of motorsports to try to take things forwards.

Agree with all of that except the monotone Chris Louis. I’m actually enjoying his comments made with practical knowledge of what it takes to ride a bike without any over the top shouting at mediocre moves.

I find Scott far more monotone but each to their own.

On the ambulance question, I think the SCB rule is that a second ambulance can’t just be any old vehicle with the word “ambulance” painted on it. It has to ge registered with DVLA as an ambulance and have both a driver and an attendant. My guess is a second ambulance would cost somewhere between £250 and £400 per meeting. Other than for tv meetings, I doubt there are many tracks that have two ambulances, but, given the current strain on the NHS, maybe more should consider it?

Add to that the cost of a second paramedic/doctor as there’s no point having an ambulance without.

We've never been a proper team in the top flight.

We're the prop-up team in the top flight.

Many a club had proper teams but sadly no longer have a stadium to race in. Whatever the rights and wrongs down the years, King’s Lynn are still racing.

I wonder how many fans would rather say that than yeah we won x amounts of trophies but don’t have a team to support anymore.

In what way do you not think it is good enough?

Surely if they renounce their Russian citizenship and become solely Polish then that should show enough willing and enable them to be a speedway rider.

Should any of them actually do that it’s a different kettle of halibut,

Up to now I haven’t seen or heard anything that suggests any have.

  6. If indeed Emil and Artem are against the Russian acts, it makes no difference. They are Russian by an act of birth and therefore had no  choice as to their nationality. Yes it's hard on them but the citizens of Ukraine had no choice in where they were born either and it's even bloody harder on them. Being banned from sport of a short while pales into insignificance compared to losing your life or your family.

After reading this statement from the IOC I don't think the FIM have any option but to exclude Sayfutinov & Laguta & all other Russians from any of their events. I would also assume they will issue a directive to all member federations to exclude any competitor or official from any events within their territory.

I understand this is a tough call on the riders but it is my opinion that we are in a forced position that we must treat all Russian nationals in the same manner. Of course there are good & bad in all aspects of life & I bere no ill will to those mentioned but we must stand united against the actions of Mr Putin.

I assume Sayfutinov and Laguna hold dual citizenship so technically are still Russian, if only 50%.

  8. Regarding the track, how many times have we heard various commentators and pundits say “the track will come good” or “the track will come to the riders”?  The racing then becomes decent about heat 10-12 which is far too late. Today they had the equivalent of 14 heats before the meeting due to practice and then a short track prep.
You  can’t have it both ways, it’s either a virgin track or a “came to the riders” track.

Just my opinion but as someone who no longer attends in person I thought it was a decent meeting on a reasonable track.
