  1. So a prestige British Event the U21 Final High jacked. Is it absolutely necessary to hold it on the same day?
  2. How long will the meeting take? Will anybody attend or watch it? Does any one care?

    Premiership Pairs

Yet another meaningless attempt to promote something no one cares about. Instead of trying to preach on speedway forums, promoters need to get out into the real world to attract a new audience.
  4. I do agree that if it was not on TV the meeting would have finished, along with the debacle with the airfence. But how many fans and promoters complain we do not get enough TV coverage or air time. Look at the people advising and presenting the sport on its current platform, nothing inspiring or initiative! Not one of the presenters has an ounce of charisma or any magnetism. The whole show is presented pathetically and panders to people who think they know and understand speedway, let me tell you, if you do you should be in Government. A total clear out and rebrand is required, the fate of Newcastle is looming large over SPEEDWAY in Britain, the end is nighe!!!!!!!!!
  5. How can Speedway be taken seriously with this dross tonight at Sheffield. From the start of the televised event, utter crap served up for 35 minutes before the start of the meeting. The total lack of personality of all the presenters shows how much Nigel Pearson carried it all with his enthusiasm. Horrible accident for Danny, good to see him up and about. But what a crap promotion regarding airfence replacement, switched it off 20 minutes after the accident with little or nothing happening. Every one saying Newcastle closed due to bad promotion, well Sheffield will soon follow after this debacle.
  6. Was just watching on BSN and 4 of the riders giving up at first bend, even when leading. Had to switch it off after 9 heats as embarrassing to watch, such inept display by riders getting paid to supposedly entertain the paying crowd. Do the guests get paid for points or just appearance fee, maybe that explains lack of interest from both of them?

    Killing the sport

It is not just the Guest and rider replacement facility that has killed the sport so far this season. Petrol prices and cost of living go part way, but the whole package as it stands is a bag of she ite. Even if the 15 races are brilliant, who wants to watch a tractor on a Monday night at Belle Vue race round 9 times and not even grade the track, every 4 races!!!!!!!! Fortunately I watched on Eurosport where it was just drivel from ill informed pundits and piss poor presentation. But wait a minute you say, racing was superb (Which it was) but 1 hour 45 minutes of clap trap is not worth the 15 minutes. Overhaul is not required, autopsy is
  8. Answering all 3 questions at once is easy, put a plan together and buy it. Over several years many Football teams went bust through bad management and ill advice. Grounds shut or demolished. Scarborough, Bury and Macclesfield all suffered, but with hard work by local business people and fans and with council help are all on a great financial footing. Both Bury and Scarborough are fan owned, so why not a speedway club?
  9. For next years Benfund meeting, possibly a radical change to the previous 16 rider individual format could be introduced or even a one off special event. Several injured riders teams are now defunct, but still have supporters who do attend different tracks to get their fix and roaming supporters visiting tracks infrequently. Potentially a best pairs format with riders representing defunct tracks to attract a few more and a few more marketing avenues to swell the coffers. Teams like: Workington, Coventry, Hull, Exeter, Swindon, Halifax, Cradley, Hackney, Wimbledon to mention a few. With Team, Race Jacket and Manager sponsorship being available, hopefully this would be an attractive proposition not to mention the riders from previous being in attendance.
  10. Today Danyon Hume, Connor Bailey, Sam Hagon and George Congreve represented Team GB in Germany. Have not seen any thread, updates nothing from or previously about this meeting, have I missed something or does any body have any details, scores please.
  11. Thank you to everyone who looked for the results for me, it is appreciated.
  12. If you read my post yesterday at 08:42 AM, think you will find the answer. But what about your remarks?
  13. 1. Totally agree, waste of money, more suited to Belle Vue. 2. That is why it would be better suited and supported at a smaller less expensive venue. 3. Apart from Sam Hagon, they all have extensive European experience. 4. They have been doing. Can you expand why? Ridiculous, read the bottom line. The other riders have little experience on the qualifying tracks and are similar ages, but qualified. All excuses answered.
  14. Attendance at Cardiff for the GP2 event will be poor. No British, Australian or American representation. If The Team GB set up is so professional and is pushing the sport and riders forward, why did no one qualify? All the talent is being coached out of them and pushed in a direction to failure. Just remember a lot of our highest sports personnel have previously stated this,

    Newcastle vs Glasgow 8/5/22 4pm??

In the Speedway Star a few weeks ago Craig mentioned about his struggles and stated 2 sides here, the texter is entitled to their opinion but in doing so can unknowingly antagonise mentioned person. Also previously knowing the history of the rider was it necessary or just trying to upset him? Other side is knowing his own fallibility should he be reading these posts? I have no idea what happened but reading the texts on updates it does lead everyone who isn't their. Hope Tom recovers quickly, most exciting British rider at the moment and if the track was so bad so early why oh why continue it for so long. Speedway does need Newcastle and every help from other clubs should be offered to facilitate a decent track. Another lost track means less riders jobs and chances that our sport will disappear to the annals of history.
  16. Will a live stream be available of the meeting?

  24. The only way the Super Heat Decider would add to the entertainment factor would be :- THE 2 LOWEST SCORING RIDERS WERE AUTOMATICALLY SEEDED TO IT. Now that would be entertaining and perfectly sum up this ridiculous scenario.

    Oxford Cheetah Cubs 2022

Its very easy to down cry riders, have they been given the right support or opportunities? They are trying their best and should be applauded for the time and effort being put in. On a foot note, how long and how many times was Ivan Mauger given numerous opportunities before his success? Was Charles Wright an overnight sensation? Both were given time to blossom and so they flourished!!
