    Rye House 2020

Having started this thread on 23 January 2020 with the following post:- Just seen Kevin Jolly has plans for Rye House for entry into NDL for 2020, any views on this. Think it would be great. I have nothing but admiration for your efforts Rob, keep up the brilliant work and hopefully it will bear fruit.
  2. Interesting reading about several riders have not been paid for matches ridden in for Birmingham during the 2021 season. Surely these riders deserve payment, be it from the bond with the SCB/BSPA or sale of assets (if any) left at Birmingham prior to any proposed sale of the club. Very disappointed that this is still occurring and hopefully every rider at both Birmingham and Eastbourne get their due monies before Christmas. We all live and hope!

    PLRC and CLRC ????

This is the best suggestion of the year, reminds me of the BLRC that used to be held at Hyde Road. Surely this could be staged and a sell out attendance to boot.

    Swindon Stadium

Looks like the Stadium and Greyhounds are staying for a while with the investment? https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/19500734.swindon-greyhound-stadium-receives-financial-investment/
  5. Will the British U19 Championship take preference over other fixtures for riders on the same evening?

Belle Vue Colts v Mildenhall. 3 Sept

Not a happy night for 1 Mildenhall rider who was sacked immediately after the meeting!!!!!!!!!
  7. Does anyone know which teams will be participating in the qualifying rounds for SWC 2017. Italy have been in it recently in qualifiers, but has anyone seen France or Austria in it recently, I mean in the last 10 years!
  8. Some really negative posts on here, probably from supporters who think they are up to date, but are detached from reality. People speaking about big wide tracks in Poland and the throttle jockeys, with no one under 20 on the British radar. REALLY !!!! With the possible expansion of the Polish League, this is a great opportunity for British Speedway. How`s that you are wondering? Both Germany and Latvia have a team in the Polish League, why not a British one? This would help develop our young riders along with their foreign young rivals of similar talent. A couple of Premier League tracks are big and wide enough and sufficient Stadium facilities to do this. Firstly and foremost there is a market out their to attract a new and younger audience. To move forward you must invest in the future. Wait a minute who is going to take such a risk financially, well with everyone always slating greedy promoters for taking all and giving nothing back. Potentially the gains outweigh the losses. He who dares wins. Waiting in anticipation of all and sundry slaters, roll up roll up !!!!!!!!!!!

    Why speedway is failing

A good watch and correct analysis. The main mitigating factor for me, (beside the above video), is no promoting of the sport in the towns and cities where it is staged, period.

    Is anyone losing interest

Being not too good at pasting links, but surely someone will be able to do it. Has anyone seen Belle Vue Colts, Paul Bowen basic analysis of what's wrong with speedway on Youtube. A good watch and analysis. The main mitigating factor for me is no promoting of the sport in the towns and cities where it is staged, period.

    Peterborough Panthers 2021

It is not hard to understand how fickle speedway fans are in the last several posts. The amount of posts made by several of the last posters indicate a potential knowledge and understanding of how speedway works. But hey stupid, I tell myself, same old criticism ethics that are in general life today. If posters had their way, by end of the season all the rising stars in the programme would be gone as the posters would have demanded the next one to be slayed. Slay them early so the next one can visit the guillotine........................eventually no one is left.
  12. Much appreciated screm
  13. Are both matches being live streamed this evening? Berwick are missing a wind fall if not as lots of speedway starved fanatics out here hoping it is.
  14. Unfortunately nothing but buffering issues for me, maybe as south of Scotland. The only thing that I can recommend is that an announcer gives details of each heat, irrespective of the commentators. Had the pleasure of seeing 1 full race in 8 heats and a superb ride by George Rothery, definitely one to watch.
  15. Has the stream started yet, logged in but nothing doing?

Sam Mcgurk 3.00 Total: 30.91 A bold bid here, but a spirited team, all full of potential and every rider can beat anyone on their day. Stay safe boys and enjoy the season.

Probably be brothers riding for the Colts at 6 & 7

    Belle Vue Colts 2020

Looking at the riders Belle Vue would possibly run with, think it is more about convenient days when they are all available from other team commitments.

    Whats actually going on?

Think it was one of the reasons, but who are the ones left?

    Who are the Rising Stars?

Connor Bailey not on the list?
  21. secsy1

    Who are the Rising Stars?

Just noticed that Connor Bailey has a 3 star rating, is this due to him being considered a good future star above several riders with 2 stars who have been around a long time? Seems like several riders like Jamie Halder and a few others don't appear on the list. Any particular reasons?

    British 'Dream Team' 2021

Experience relates to the top 3 and the youth and future of British Speedway the bottom end. 1. Tai Woffinden 2. Dan Bewley 3. Robert Lambert 4. Drew Kemp 5. Dan Gilkes 6. Jordan Palin 7. Dan Thompson 8. Joe Thompson You can only move forward with bringing in youngsters. Once upon a time a Manchester United fan told me and gosh did they move forward before backwards again with older players.

    NEW LOOK FOR STAR

A new reader direction is the same as a new spectators adventure to see their first speedway meeting. Being able to relate to what's happening at other tracks and seeing how speedways history is so vast. Nothing ventured in any direction is the same as saying its dead and don`t bother. As mentioned it is getting better, but needs much much more coverage, particularly with the latest stars emerging. I think it is quite surprising that so many people do not realise how many tracks already do this, or are not informed as it is not covered by the Star!

    NEW LOOK FOR STAR

A great read for the older end, but is it not time to move it forward towards the younger generation to be able to evolve and maintain its great status as the best speedway magazine in the world? With the British Youth Championships growing year on year, surely it is time to follow it more in depth and gain a new reader direction? All the families and friends of all the new riders emerging from as young as 7 years old would love to follow their progress and what better place than in the Star
