Will his average go down? Won't he be stuck at 4.00 forever?

    Berwick 2024

Very pleased to have Jye back to solidify the team's home scoring. The Jye who rode home and away against Plymouth, and played a (very) big part in winning the Premiership for Sheffield in their last match, will do very nicely.

On a realistic average, Matty would be a solid, dependable servant. But....

No, you're right. Came into team late one year. Alongside George Stancl, I think?

Of course they should, that was the plan as the stadium developed. But the Wolves/Panthers closures forced a consolidation of tracks and l suspect a great deal of pressure was put on the new Comets to move up 'in the best interests of the sport'. Which it most probably is, just that the promotion are now finding it tough to adjust, and put together a team to match their budget while holding their own on track.

Having a good asset-base is a handy revenue stream each season, as every unused asset commands a nice little earner in a loan fee from the club they do go off and ride for!

    KOC draw

It has been careful to avoid ties between clubs with the same race-night. There will be a few off-night meetings this season, with four Friday tracks, three doing Saturday and two racing on Wednesdays. As a matter of interest, Poole, Edinburgh and Berwick have seniority on these nights, and won't need to move off-night......

In Australia, riders have to nominate themselves to contest any of the MA events. You don't nominate, you don't ride.

He's from Argentina. Italy was just a flag of convenience to let him race in Europe without a visa. Since Brexit, l dunno......

At Armadale last season (helping Troy Batchelor) Matty said he had his gear ready, just no-one had asked him!

    BSN Groups

Not three Friday tracks in the same group, surely? If it is a 4-club group, would be the three regular 'Scottish' sides, plus Worky......

I don't know the criteria, but Drew Kemp turned 21 in August, Leon won't be 21 til next year......
  15. Sadly, the cost would be too much to have tests at every meeting. But it would do no harm to have more-frequent random testing. As an aside, remember we only hear about the tests that come back 'non-negative' - - l know of several meetings in the season past at which random tests were carried out, with all results turning out negative.

    Drugs - Just Say No!

He may well sign agreements for a couple of clubs, ready to start in June, but there is no way there would be a facility granted in his absence.

    Glasgow Tigers 2024

Of course, a five-point-plus middle-order lad (like Anders Rowe) would be signed up in jig-time if he let it be known he was available for £25 per point less than the (vastly-inflated) going rate........

Got to be Two leagues then

    Don't be silly
  21. With good friends in both camps, I watched and hugely appreciated both legs. What more can we ask for, that was a Grand Final coming down to the very last heat after so many twists and turns? Last night's Heat 13 saw Jason Doyle at his very best, a magnificent race, one for the archives. Truly amazing stuff. And the matchwinner for Sheffield wasn't Lambert, wasn't Bomber or even Chris Holder -- it was Jye Etheridge. Well done Reggie!

Ipswich v Sheffield play off final 1st leg

Bomber for Tai and Jye Etheridge at #6 for Sheffield. Ipswich will juggle their Thompsons again.

    2024 team building averages

If averages are to be used to level teams up for the start of the new season, and the league is to in be more or less the same format, it should be realised that as four teams have finished this year under 40.00 and five above that figure, continuing to use 40.00 as the starting total would be logical. The lower-level teams could strengthen, and the clubs with higher figures (Poole are on 45.55!) would have to surrender points -- making riders available for the weaker teams. Too easy?

    2024 team building averages

Wasn't it CVS, when Wolves threatened to close down, coming out if Covid? On the other bit, Eurisport are now such a minor part of discovery+/Warner/TNT that their views would be no longer relevant, it' ll be for the bigger dogs to chew over.....
