I think its more like the UK turned its back on him. I know nothing about the details tbf.

The other guy missing a spot is Anders Rowe, who did extremely well in the Polish U24 league last year. Such a shame for young UK talent to be left on the sidelines...
  3. Is this forum full of bigot racists as well as idiots?

    And The Good News Is,

What's been happening at Glasgow for a few seasons now is nothing but good news, same goes for rye house. Plymouth has been saved, as has lakeside and Berwick. Birmingham was rescued recently and IOW made a comeback and by all accounts is doing well. We have more clubs racing than anywhere else in Europe over 3 leagues, surely this is all good news?

    Rye House 2017

Really positive news coming from BMR, they've been doing a great job since the takeover! Such a rarity to have good news in British speedway. Having such good rail links to central London I hope that can tap into that a bit

Some of the big 'ideas' that were mentioned many times by promoters in the press over the last 12 months haven't been mentioned at all. I'm referring to the squad system, apparently to attract back big names; one or two race nights for top flight clubs and the issue of guests. Can anyone shed any light on these topics? Cheers.

Stop stream works pretty well after some patience with the adds
  10. What a farce tonight was. I'm £250 pounds out of pocket for making the trip. As impressive as the stadium is the facilities for that amount of people was woeful. The way fans were left in the lurch as to what was going on was shameful. Why were fans made to wait for so long before being informed as to what was going on? Why were there three bar staff in one bar that had one pump for the entire back straight? Why was there one burger van and one coffee van to cover the same area? Why was the announcement system totally unintelligible on the back straight? Teething problems, sure but, most important question to come: WAS THE TRACK NOT TESTED DURING THE WEEK?? Feel sorry for all who attended, the promotion (honestly - they wouldn't have wanted this - they're not sadomasochists!), the riders and British speedway - for which this was a terrible advert...

    Speedway In Cornwall

The first speedway meeting I attended was St. Austell Gulls first ever meeting at the Clay Country Motoparc as it was known. The Annear family brought speedway back to Cornwall for the first time since the sixties and the team was mostly made up of local grasstrack riders. Racing at Nanpean was always close in both conference (initally 'amateur') and premier leagues and the lack of home advantage often led to tense scorelines too. The first post in this thread asks about revival attempts in Cornwall since the demise of the Trelawny Tigers at the end of the 2003 season. I remember there being local press about various potential venues, some even with noise tests etc being carried out only to be poopoo'd by local resedents. These included: Par Moor, the same area where the original St. Austell Gulls stadium and later stock car track was situated, now burried beneith the behemoth that is Cornish Market World (Par Market), St. Eval (near Newquay) was talked about for a while, Bodmin Rugby club was looked at as an option, there's the boarded Grasstrack at Victoria near Roche and most recently Fraddon has been in Focus. To be honest, even with Plymouth being nearby, any venue in Cornwall that's close to good transport links or a decent road (or not - remember the roads to Nanpean!) could be well supported. I know it was before the economic downturn but St. Austell/Trelawny used to attract huge crowds.....
