    Cardiff 2017

Been the last 8 at Cardiff , always loved it , but as most can see a trend of attendances dropping , it's telling us something .. Distain for 8 years , yes bloody obviously hate it , but still I go !!!!! As for the steward , I tend to believe them more than people's estimations , given some have attended the event since its inception ...

    Cardiff 2017

    It was half empty , 32000 ...

    Cardiff 2017

Prodons is spot on .. The whole event seemed flat from the beginning , no pre race entertainment as per previous years .. Agree that the riders should immediately return to the start when a heat has been aborted , just slows the whole event down ... Racing was bland in the main , but can't blame the organisers for that .. Something has been lost from previous years , interesting to see what other people think .. Steward told me it was the lowest crowd in Cardiffs history , with just over 32000 and it seems people are turning their back on the rising costs of the day out .. Just a note that the grid girls stayed in our hotel and despite their obvious good looks , were arrogant and ignorant especially how they obviously feel they are some sort of royalty and treat others accordingly ...

Stoke Potters V Scunthorpe Stags 28/6

Very one sided tbh , but young Modridge is definitely a fine prospect who will more than cope with NL speedway and potentially beyond. Just to note that Armstrong reverted to number one with Wilson dropping to number five for Stoke.
  5. As predicted a 59-34 home win , with minimal resistance from the Buxton team . Liam Carr not as competitive as expected , but his win for double points passing 2 home riders being the best riding of the evening. For those critical of the organisation of previous meetings , this passed by in less than 90 minutes despite 2 re runs and some think it was due to people's desire to get home to watch some football match ! Best crowd of the season goes to show speedway can attract fans back if the right product is on show.
  6. Well done Stoke ! Great team performance all round . Credit to Joe Jacobs he was class tonight and Shuttleworth who's getting better each meeting . Good luck to Carl Froch
  7. Good luck for the weekend Stoke !
  8. Have to agree with Jayne , it's a case of all abide with the rules or don't bother at all !
  9. Did any home rider win a heat ?

    Stoke V Scunny 24/5/14

Yep lots ! No reason for Stoke not to want this to be run with a likely home win

    King's Lynn V Stoke Nl (16/5)

Can anyone imagine a football league manager going on a public forum to slag of the fans who have previously paid his salary . There are issues on both sides , but surely to continue to quote an Act of law because you don't agree with a speedway fans comments beggars belief . I'm trying to place Stokes Mark Hughes on the fan forum quoting one law after another , that's not relationship building methinks , Some fans are X fans for a reason ???

  14. Shame , was looking forward to it !

    Kings Lynn V Buxton. 07/05

Looks ominous for Buxton , just Carr giving resistance !

Buxton V Stoke Sun 4th May

I very much beg to differ Jayne , even BW agrees . I could see clearly from my position. Don't worry though , based on your team ,there won't be many queues in the future !
  18. After watching the Peterborough match in the PL tonight and seeing a half empty stand , which teams are the crowd pullers and who are the Wigan of EL speedway ?? For the record , as a Stoke fan we're lucky to get above 200 on a good day , unless Dudley/Cradley are in town .

Buxton V Stoke Sun 4th May

A very comfortable win for Stoke in front of a good crowd with only Atkins and the excellent Carr giving any resistance. Buxton fans will have to be very patient with their new team , which I'm sure will change on a number of occasions between now and the end of the season. Credit must be again given to Liam Carr who looked unbeatable until his bike issues and surely will soon be Buxtons number One. Only one small complaint, being that there was only one person on the gate which stopped a significant number from getting in on time . Maybe based on future demand , they will only need one anyway which would be a pity.
  20. I was personally a little disappointed with both Wilson and Armstrong , but given that they have had little or no racing this season , especially on the Loomer road track ( looked very good ) , I would give them the benefit of the doubt . Wilson certainly found his feet in the bronze helmet run off , so onwards and upwards.
  21. 49 - 40 home win . Ben Morley R/R , Compton pulled out after one race and Freemantle after 2 races made Stokes task a lot easier. Credit to lambert 17 and Chessell 10 were Kings positives. Stokes new riders took their time to settle into the track , with Wilson scoring 10 and reserve Mcbain 10 with others chipping in . Highlights was Lee Paynes heat 14 win coming from third to pass Chessell on the last lap . Bronze helmet was won by Wilson , beating Lambert with ease. Some decent racing , onwards to Buxton

    Stoke Speedway Track Work Update

Have some sympathy for some of your thoughts , especially in view of the level of speedway on offer , plus the demise of facilities etc. You have to consider that unlike football ( I'm a stoke city season ticket holder ) that there are few that wish to invest in speedway due to the lack of potential returns in the sport. I'm grateful ( mad or not ) that unlike Exeter , Hull , Long Eaton and Oxford I can watch some speedway at a reasonable price , but accept that Mrs Tattum will refuse to smile . As the saying goes , be grateful for what you've got ! PS it wasn't long ago Stoke fans asked for the head of Peter Coates , now look at us !
  23. About bloody time , some speedway at long , long last. With the weather looking promising , I wonder if there's any chance of Mrs Tattum smiling ? I'll take the speedway , the rest is a dream lol
  24. Wolves v Dudley , must be close ??
  25. Firstly Scunthorpe , now Buxton this isn't proper racing it's an embarrasement ! At least when they both meet there might be some competition .
