  1. SGP

    Cardiff 2017

LOOKS like not happening now anyway, however, there is no reason why they can't mention it. They aren't promoting a rival channel, more that the event is on. They mention many SGPs without issue. Plus, remember tonight's meeting isn't just seen in the UK.
  2. SGP

    Cardiff 2017

SATURDAY 8th July 2017 for the British SGP. Will be announced on tonight's televised match on SKY, with discounted tickets advertised.
  3. FOR what it's worth, I am aware of one group who are working with a major KODI developer to create a reliable addon of (legal) streamable content also. As I understand it, the group involved have links with a major player in the production of speedway/sport DVDs and will focus on providing licensed content. It would be wrong for me to say anymore, but, I thought I would put it out there (I have permission) to show users that it's good to see interest in the sport amongst the entertainment community. Personally, I would love to see fully licensed GoSpeed recorded meetings available to stream
  4. FOR what it's worth, one rider currently in the SGP and not wearing the colours of the green Monster will be next year. As for next year, would expect wildcards to be: Jaroslaw Hampel Andreas Johnsson Peter Kildemand Martin Vaculik (if declined) Lindback CONFIRMED - the wildcards I stated above.

    Attendances

CLUBS run as inividual businesses and thus have their own promotional activities. Location is also important too, for example Poole which benefits from seasonal tourism. In an ideal World, the BSPA should employ a dedicated company to promote the clubs and sports equally with set targets. To my knowledge, they [bSPA] never have once put out a tender for such activity. If the younger audience is the prime target - which it should be - second to families, then the influences of Monster Energy would be great. Personally, such companies are not my thing - but having a British World Champion backed by Monster Energy is an ideal platform. On the whole though, right now, promoting speedway is like trying to sell a ticket on the Titanic.
  6. WELL, you've clearly never seen how successful it is in the BTCC. Last three seasons, the championship has been decided at the last event! Attendenances have grown during the same period too. I mentioned it because Speedway could (perhaps) adopt something similar that makes those on a weaker gate more in-line with the success of a 'better' gate. It was an idea not a solution. Would hate to see you in a brain-storming meeting.
  7. WOULD love to see, where at all possible, some kind of 'success ballast' like the British Touring Cars (and other forms) adopt. Whether it be for gates or championship positions. If for gates.. Once each rider has completed one ride, if a certain gate is more favourable, then an added wieght (success ballast) is added to the bike to neturalise the advantage. It could be reviewed after each 4 races with the more favourable gate getting the weight. If the stats suggest two gates are the same then split the ballast, and only when it's 25% for each gate is no ballast added. It could be removed for the semis/final just to add some twist, perhaps. For championship... At the start of each new GP, the top eight riders are given added weight to their bikes. So whoever is number one would get the highest amount and it cascades down accordingly, getting lighter. I know it's a little out there, but it'd be great to see how the riders and mechanics adapt to the weight, the tactics considered and how over each GP the top 8 have to balance out all the factores.

    The Dilemma Of Greg Hancock

WELL, Greg is at hospital today and Nicki has told him to stop being a cry baby.
  9. WELL the track this evening is looking great for the TV coverage... Expect Nigel and Kelvin to lightly touch on Monday's turn of events.

    Lewis Bridger

MAYBE Lewis 'liked' Kenneth's Facebook comment about his alledged unpaid race suit invoice - the result being Lewis' services were no longer required?

    Bspa Meeting...

THE ground where the stadium once stood is a housing estate now. The council have named several of the streets within the development after the Speedway. How kind of them.
  12. WILL be amazed if there is even a product left to televise by the time the current TV deal concludes. There simply isn't enough money in the sport for it to be viable. Any club that plans for the season may as well write-off attendence money from it's finances and aim to fund the season with sponsorship. Gate money alone wont work, so really, thanks to poor promotion and managements of the sport, no sponsors no club. It's that simple.
  13. NO money, no improvement. Sad, but true.
  14. SAID a few months back that I expected Cradley to be racing from Perry Barr next season and I am sticking with that based on a few things. This is just my opinion, before I get asked. As for Birmingham, I don't think it's quite the end of the road just yet.
