  1. As I have said. It is quite odd that so many fans from other clubs want to come on here and have a go at poole.

I detect a hint of jealousy.

It is not irrelevant to examine how other sports conduct themselves. Most importantly it is advertising the sport.

Get the names out there and the excitement of racing.

I believe that promoters /clubs are suffering from a type of fatigue, continually struggling to break even.

It is very difficult for them but advertise, advertise , advertise.

Make a lot of noise about our world champion.

It is not just the other clubs but poole also really do not splash the sport everywhere.

Why say it again then ?

  2. Agree completely. Also wouldn't mind a fresh rider from abroad to add to the asset base. The lad Rosen at Newcastle looks a decent find so there are riders out there.

Always exciting seeing a new rider you know very little about and agree that's it's always good to freshen things up with new faces.

I was convinced that both Risager and Lanham would be retained, but now I'm not so sure. If a Worrall or another 8 pointer is signed at number 1, then you're not also going to fit Heeps, Tungate, Lanham and Risager.

I think just about everyone would be peeved if either Lanham or Risager were included at the expense of either Heeps or Tungate.

Absolutely agree, i'm not sure I would even go if that happened. Cant happen, surely not... :o

  3.

He might have wanted that (although I don't see Frost doing second best) but they said that you do EL under the new structure or you don't run because we're not allowing Peterborough to drop down? What would you do?

I was not aware of that. Seems odd that a new owner can run in the prem lge tho, don't you think. Sounds like they wanted rid of Frostie, or am I not reading this right...

  4. Whilst I do not necessarily agree with the new format, arguably it will bring the costs down to a more affordable level which is presumably why Birmingham, Eastbourne Belle Vu, etc feel they can stay in. It would seem therefore that there is more to all this than meets the eye. If in any case if RF is so loaded why could he not keep the club going whilst trying to find a buyer?

That's a point I have also made, he could have reduced costs by going Premier lge and ensuring speedway at the Showground, giving him more time to find a buyer. It feels like the captain of the ship has jumped off first..

  5. Not sure why there is a problem with me doing it, only started thread as have done it the last few years. Wasnt trying to upset you. X

Its no problem at all, I had no idea you were the regular on this thread. If a previous poster had told me that instead of insinuating that I might not be trusted to do it, I would have locked it up immediately. Thanks for telling me, its much appreciated.. X

  6. Why do so many people assume they know more than the BSPA about Speedway? You may not like the way they do things but it's fact that they are running tracks while the vast majority of us are looking in as outsiders with varying degrees of knowledge. There are very, very few on here who know even the basics of running a Speedway track and maybe one or two who have the in depth knowledge of the promoters.

You/we may not like their decisions but given the fact that they have all the required information to arrive at a decision and non of us do it seems a bit daft to just assume they are stupid. In general they have somehow made enough money to run a Speedway track whether as a business or an expensive hobby, the vast majority of us have been unable to make enough money to consider it even if we wanted to.

It's all a bit like the postman telling the bricklayer how to lay bricks because he saw somebody else do it once, or the brickie telling the postie the best way to deliver letters because it's obvious - even though he's never actually done it. Assuming somebody is stupid because they don't do things the way an amateur thinks best seems a bit, well, stupid!

    History I would imagine...

  7. Riders develop at different rates just like everyone else.

Some come on faster than others, it does not mean that slower developers have any less potential.

The fast-tracking approach just seems too heavy handed and will discourage as many riders as it benefits.

Must agree, and surely these lads must have some say in where they ride, otherwise all the good intentions may do more harm than good..

  8. The worry is though that the EL teams will obviously try and arrange their fixtures to include them as much as possible.

The likes of Tungate could be a very busy boy now with the EL extending its fixtures, and he generally runs out of gas around August as it is!

Rohan might struggle to get an Elite team next year, it seems unlikely he will be at Poole again. Cam on the other hand may be on someone's radar, as he is an improver on a decent average...
