You have to look at riders who can improve their average, I would bet on Harris averaging more than 6.8 next season. Fisher is just under 6 at a guess, another rider who can improve that. Can Scott improve his I dont think so. Depending on points limit Bomber could be 3rd heat leader next year, what a rider to have in that position.
That's what I thought this year with Fish starting on 5.27, but he only raised that to 5.71. Not sure Fish has much improvement in him. but a solid guy in the middle order, and a likable chap...

Execuitve boxes lol. It's one room. Pboro have one stand and the rest is all standing on grass ! At Poole the whole top floor is sectioned off for big meets. Anyway don't know why I am talking about pboro as it won't go there in a million years ,unless frost wants to bank roll it like he does the panthers year on year.
Whats wrong with grass ?

1- SMOLINSKI 2.51... 2- COOK 1.88... 3- THORSSELL 1.61... 4- COVATTI 1.50... 5- LAWSON 1.42... 6- HOWARTH 1.28... 7- KILDEMAND 1.27... 8- HOUGAARD 1.21... 9- JANOWSKI 0.82... 10- BUCZKOWSKI 0.78... Who can continue to improve on this list ? For me, Kildemand is the stand out improver this year, having done it from a heat leader berth, along with Cook, whose improvement has been very impressive...

How quickly you Brits forget all the years the rest of the speedway world had to watch Harris and Nicholls getting a wild card year after year. So you shouldn't really say anything.
The GP should involve the worlds top 15 riders, irrespective of where they come from. I have always said that...

Laguta, MJJ or Dudek would have added some spice into the 2014 series. Lindgren and Jonsson will add nothing, and will be odds on to finish outside the top 8 again. Very disappointing...

A lot of the meetings Sky have shown this year have been dreadful, their obsession with the technical 'trick tracks' does not make for good viewing. I would love to know who chooses these meetings, they need sacking...

I dont wish respect form you as i dont know you and most of the people on this forum so why would i. i also have helped towards Pooles success over the year and this year so where did you get that from ? I did a quick count up the other day, sponsored around 40 riders including multi world champions, 4 or five clubs, 10 grand prix, cardiff twice and 1 world cup. around £800.000 maybe a bit more if i looked harder. not blowing my own trumpet but what have you contributed to speedway and this does not include my gate money to poole since the early seventies and all the clubs i have visited since then. i will say again dont want your resppect or others i dont know as dont need it.
Sorry, but the noise is deafening.

So, you don't think Gollob deserves a pick, I get it. However, that's a bit harsh considering his GP record...Its not really that hard is it?
You claim that Gollob missed out on top 8 due to his injury but failed to acknowledge that other riders have been injured as well.
It's easy to say that if Gollob wouldn't have been injured he would have been top 8. That is not correct though since you can say the same about Chris Holder..
Had Holder been injury free all season he would have been top 8 and Gollob would still have been outside top 8.
Simply it proves that Gollob missed out on top 8 because he wasn't good enough and not because he was injured.
-
Ward and Holder receiving wild cards are not being questioned by anyone as far as I can see, so I don't understand your point...Gollob was injured for two GPs, how many GPs did Holder and Ward miss?
-
Is anybody else surprised that Gollob is being offered a wild card? I know he is a big name, but he just did not seem the same this season, the racing passion we all know and love was not there. A man at the twilight of his career. In my opinion, even though I like a red hot racing Gollob, I am not sure offering him a wild card is the right call. Thoughts?
He was looking ok for a top 8 place until Tai said 'hello', and deserves a wild card more than the two swedes who have apparently both got one...

Ease up fellas. He's a speedway fan and he has opinions. So be it if they differ from anyone else's. Don't think personal insults are the way forward either. Just my opinion of course....
Well said English, a lot to be said for ALL speedway fans, when fans of all teams can sit together without stewards and police keeping order. Starman is passionate about his team, fair play to him, nothing wrong with that...
-
If you're referring to a lot of the posters on here, you have got to be joking!
I would imagine most fans would be in the silent majority, and probably not on here..

Fans with integrity and a sense of fair play, which is most fans...Yes.If they are not Poole fans. What fan wouldn't be jealous of the success? Normal human behaviour. Since Matt Ford took over the club with Mike Golding Poole have been the number one club in the UK. A fact not an opinion. No other club has come close in that time.

Trouble is, it was drab and predictable at best...O M G the speedway grand final thread do people talk about how brilliant our end of season spectacular was NO, we have pages and pages of cr*p between bickering fans.If this is all a grand final can inspire fans to talk about then our once great sport is in big big trouble.

It hardly ensures the best rider on the night winning. Every race should be as important as the last, as in the Blue Riband at Poole...The most important race is the last one, what's not to get?
-
Whatever happened to 20 heat, 5 rides each meetings. Just don't get this semi and final thing, in a one off meeting...

And of course Ward rode thru his injury to prove he was the best GP rider this season. Not committed unlike the World best rider in 2013.
Hasnt it changed its name Michelsen Racing Fans yet. Or will it be Mikkel Bech Racing?
Woffy Woffy Racing... I can see it coming Brum...
-
And TAI had an injury free season of course...Ward's had injury problems this year.
But when it came to the business end of the season, Ward turned up for the Pirates unlike the world champ.

There are no facts just opinion. Tai being WC doesn't automatically mean he is the best rider in the world. My opinion is that Tai is one of a few riders at the top. I just think Ward is a little better. This isn't Poole bias just an opinion.
The Elite Lge averages would suggest that the World Champion is the best rider, bar none in that league...

You certainly are...No they don't.The fact someone is the fastest runner in the world supports my view they are better than someone who has won a world championship. The fact there are 3 maybe 4 world boxing champs supports my opinion that a world champion isn't by definition the best. How can you have 3 or 4 people all different who are the best?Like i say,you are mixed up and confused

You have no case, best put that shovel away ...Just stating my case..

ClassicWhy Terry Russell?
Why not send somebody like Matt Ford who knows how to sell a product, Also Russell's appearance isn't as good as Matt Ford's as Matt's hair looks cool.
