  1. SKY and BT dictate to the Premier League when they demand that selected matches are on at 1.30pm or 5.30pm on a Saturday, 1.30pm or 4pm on a Sunday and Monday nights. They govern the fixture list and as long as they are paying the vast sums they are it will be forever thus.

NINE more "likes" today ... that makes over 40! Nice to strike a chord sometimes...

That's a completely different issue. Sky have no say on how the FA or Football league administer and run their respective competitions, it would never happen...

  2. Doing as his employer tells him. Whatever next!!!

You had two likes, think Phil had 12. That seems about consistent with those in favour of play offs. They are generally played out in approx 5 or 6 times an average crowd.

Now without overtaxing your little brain have a think about whether the majority are in favour of play offs or not.

Many anti play off ex fans who have deserted the sport would not be on the forum, therefore it does not reflect a true picture at all...

  3. you will see the Pirates colours and skull and crossbones on TV in January as Matt Ford has given permission for the darts player Scott Mitchell to wear a special Poole Pirates shirt at the BDO Lakeside World championships..

Like Poole or not , that will bring some publicity to the sport ..

99.99% of the people watching wont have a clue who the Poole Pirates are...

  4. YOUR hatred of all things Pearson knows no bounds does it? It may have escaped your attention that Nigel is working for Sky. Why would he be impartial? Sky want and love the play-offs. So do thousands of others, as evidenced by the crowds that attend them.

With any luck, when Sky sod off next year, we can go back to having a proper league, decided by a full seasons effort, with a meaningful fixture list that does not end in early September...

  5.

For me, Poole were the team of last year and lost the play off to Swindon. So I'd blame the system, rather than someone who last year suffered by the same system, for the unsatisfactory winners of the Elite League.

If Arsenal beat Man Utd last May at Wembley in the Premier League play off, there would be a riot because they did not deserve it over the course of the season. Yet we put up with this in speedway.

    Absolutely 100% correct :t:

  6. well said. the guy has an ego on a massive scale. bit like Batchelor in that respect. Both not as good as they think they are.

Poole should build around the turbo twins thats obvious. You may as well go with Janowski. Josh will step into the top 5 and Howarth at reserve.

Just need to get the other 2 right and Poole will be thereabouts again.

As proven this season having Ward and Holder doesnt guarantee you winning matches if the back up is poor. Look at the start of the season.

Your obsession with all things Poole is not healthy, unless you are a secret Pirate waiting to come out... :D
