Nicholls refused to ride didn't he? Where's his pride in riding for his country?
He's not the first to decline in recent years though, is he...
-
All I ever see this bleached blonde mentor do is slap riders on the ass when they push off, why on earth is he thereThe key mistake that Team GB made this time was to listen to the recommendations of Kennett's 'mentor' John Davis and EL Team Manager Rosco that Eddie would do a job at KL!!!! As for the team changes for the play-off, team spirit will be crucial (Woffy,Barker,Bridger?!) and I'm sure the Aussies will be delighted at the inclusion of Barker!! Team GB Manager Phil Morris (rather than Team Coach Middlo) will need all his 'skills' particularly against the Aussies, with an 'interest' in both camps!!

Why no Rory Schlein ??? Does his face not fit in the Aussie 'mates' club....
-
The team did its job they are in the ride off. Eddie is on a downward slope at the minute It happens to every one at some time. Look at GOLLOB. Kennet is on a loser at the moment If he had scored a max Swindon fans would have been on his back. I would still pick Eddie for thursday. His confidence must be at an all time low and it needs boosting not made worse .
May be a sports psychologist may be helpful to team GB
Don't agree with any of that, and comparing Kennett to Gollob is like comparing MK Dons to Barcelona....

The result was never in doubt, the only point of last night was to find the 3rd place team, and well done USA. Barker and Bridger for the play off is an excellent choice, Cook is clearly not ready and Kennett was never a good choice. Thursday is basically a meeting to decide the bronze medal, Poland and Denmark are light years ahead...

I agree - if there is a change Ben wont be it.
Also agree that this will be really tough.
Auty,Howe,Jorgensen,Klindt plus r/r(presumably) is very solid.
Will be tight and I would be very happy with an 8 point win.
We were wrong there, and that will make the task on Thursday even harder. Choice of guest will be pivotal....
-
He wont, and Thursday will be a tough one. Witches by 8..........

Australia must be looking forward to riding against the two man GB team.....

Exactly right..Ticket sales I should imagine.

What are the viewing figures for Match of the Day I wonder ???I would think thay 95% of people would want to see a live match. What's the point of seeing recorded meetings especially if you already know the result. What sort of attraction of any sport would there be if if they were all recorded

The referee dictates the presentation of a meeting, not track staff. Injuries and tyre issues caused unusual delays today, that's unfortunate. Well done to the MONARCHS, and a speedy recovery to the injured boys...

Apologies for my ignorance. I was sure I had read somewhere that the Final was going back to the 5 team format again that it used to have a few years ago.
No worries, however you are right, the final will be predictable line up...

Appeared to be an arm injury and a blow to the head. What is the actual injury Blu?

NO BROKEN BONES FOR HOWARTH.....
-
Howarth just crashed out at the Showground, in the Ambo at the moment...

Have the host nation pulled out of the final then without telling anyoneI think that the 3 "qualifying!!" meetings we are faced with in the next few days are going to show that the time has now come for this "format" to be re-vamped somehow. Its obvious who the 4 finalists are going to be (Poland, Australia, Denmark and UK) and quite frankly the events this week are purely a money making exercise for the Speedway authorities. One of the suggestions I could make to make the qualifiers a bit more interesting would instead of "jokes" like Latvia being involved, is to have a "Rest of The World" team, which would at least slightly make it a bit more competitive. Bring on the Final next week and get these 3 "practice" meetings out of the way.

Ljung would be a great signing, been scoring well abroad. However, I expect many have tried to tempt him over this year, and he is one of the few available riders not to have ridden for Poole this year......yet...At the start of the season I was concerned we had sen the best of Adam and thought Ricky would be the rider that steps up to be third heat leader.
At present Adam is back to his old self and scoring good points while Ricky just seem to lack top end power and is often getting caught during a race. All this years team have done well and wouldn't change a thing but now Ty is out for the season we either have to find a replacement that wil score more than Adam, Ricky and the reserves would score using R/R.
Heart says Michelsen ...... Head says Ljung (or Nermark)

Looking forward to this, with Leicester or Workington to win it, possibly Ipswich if Lanham has a good meet....
-
Possible wrist fracture for Birks at Leicester tonight...lets hope not.
-
His away form is the key to success this year imo...Only just got the result after a night in the forest with no phone signal.
What a team effort but Leighs score put a smile on my face. Well done fella!

It will be a walk in the park for the Denmark Panthers, the only question is whether the USA can sneak into the play off. Unlikely....

Bjerre scored more than the Hammers two Poles put together, so its quite obvious why Lakeside failed to get a point..
-
And his excuse for the rest of the season is....?
3 wins after sorting the problem, no excuses required...
