Maybe your promotion has decided to raise some funds in order to make NKI an asset at some stage, he does seem very happy at Lynn. Im not aware any promoters have said they want the asset system scrapped. So it seems we've sold a promising young prospect Simon Nielsen to Leicester.
1, I didn't even know we owned him
2, 2 years time should be ready for an EL reserve
3, Are we convinced the asset system is coming to an end so selling riders asap
4, Speedway at the NA is coming to an end (very much doubt with more stadium improvements)
It's a sale I personally don't understand!!!!!

You cant declare someone who wears the cloak of invisibility, you dont need much imagination to work out Troy's little antics. Anyway, you would be wise to wait until after he's clashed with Mr Pedersen in the Kilby before you sign him, good mates they are not !What is correct is that Peterborough didnt declare him in their team - the rest is from your vivid imagination!
-
Thats correct VB, and there were rumours that Batch had been tapped up by rosco at the P'boro end of season awards before he became unreachable. Of course i cannot confirm the validity of this rumour, but it does make you wonder.Yeah, ok, 2010 then.
Didn't I hear somewhere though that Peterborough wanted him last year but they couldn't contact him, then he resurfaced when their team was completed to sign for you?

Domestic speedway is in a decline situation, i would like to think this will turn around, but i cant see that happening. The world has changed and not many kids have speedway on their radar, they would rather play with their gadgets and game stations. Presentation is so dreadful at some tracks, the meeting can become boring because of it. Why does it take over two hours to run 15 heats, its just not good enough and must be addressed.

Neither P'boro or the BSPA have stated he will be prevented from riding, as he is available on a full transfer. It would appear that Swindon are preventing him from riding as they dont seem prepared to buy him as P'boro were forced to do originally. Whats good for the goose..........I believe he already has a work permit! so they are preventing him from working!
-
Dont worry about the image of the sport because it cant get any lower than it is already..domestic speedway had its chance, and they (BSPA) blew it im afraid.BSPA climb down it is - after all it's not good for the image of the sport that a rider (whatever nationality he is) is unable to earn a living because the BSPA won't budge - and will need to explain their reasons why a rider who is not being used by their parent club is not allowed to go out on loan as per the BSPA rules - that would be interesting.
Just for Crump99

Under what employment laws is it illegal ? Batch is an Australian, not European..As batch is not under contract and not getting paid during the close season, i think you will find he can ride where he likes after march 1st no matter what the speedway committee says! unfortunately without all of this years rules not being in the public domain it makes it very difficult to come to any conclusion of whats right or wrong in this situation, but refusing to let someone work is illegal!
-
So...the newly crowned Australian champion is British......Doesn't he live in England though and therefore is a British Citizen ?
-
Trying hard to understand why some folk on here are failing to understand this skidder, they keep banging on about Batch going on loan, but he has a MC ruling on him already. Is their some form of mental block in Wiltshire do you think...and the MC have ruled that Batch must be purchased - as the rules allow the MC to do!! Unless of course they reverse their decision next week at their meeting!!

Surely this not not apply to Batch as they have already made a ruling on his availability, otherwise why would anyone ever need to buy a rider, when all they have to do is wait till Mar 1st every year. Not even BSPA regulations can be that transparent, can they ?really!
“We are told after March 1, although it is not written in the rulebook, that any rider not in a team has to be made available for loan,” Patchett said" - who told him?
"Robins will now wait until the unofficial signing deadline of March 1 when they are expected to be allowed to sign the 25-year-old on loan" - why
-
We have to stick together, we are an endangered species these days.....Hardly a hanging crime? does it matter that much us as speedway fans certainly stick together right!
-
It certainly sounded like it sometimes, you could well be correct about that.Did Pearson and Tatum actually attend every GP venue. I thought they also did some commentary from a studio in Isleworth, just down the corridor from Mr Huewen and guests.?!
-
I think riders should be paid on the number of opposition riders they beat, not team mates. Is it any different ro both riders wanting the one point on offer when they are losing a heat 5 - 1?
-
I can see clearly now Autoglass have beenThat's what you get for borrowing Game On's cracked crystal ball!
-
Im sure he wont allow that, however last years starting line up was not the best, and changes were inevitable. Eastbourne were the only team to have 7 full time elite riders last year, and they were unchanged from start to finish. Im confident in the seven we have signed, i cant see many changes to that, if any at all.How often does that happen - that was often Swales policy (indeed even last year and that ivariably cost us IMO) but I doubt that Staechmann will allow that sort of complacency to creep in.
-
Just think its a tad early to start thinking about replacements before a wheel has been turned. I would not be suprised if this team remains unchanged for the full season, injuries permitting of course.Does it need injuries?
-
I cant see it doing anything for team riding at all.Who's the team manager for next season. I can't remember if it's been announced yet. Also what do we think of the new bonus system for next year. Is it just a cost cutting exersize, or will it do anything for the racing. Will it make team mates ride harder for 2nd place with there being no bones point for 3rd ?.
-
Have you seen injuries in your crystal ballAll well and good but some of that team won't ffinish the season
-
Hard to understand why you would not welcome the Bees to your place, its not the result that matters, its a good test for your team and a chance to see an Elite outfit.
-
Maybe the Lions should start the meeting with a 12 point advantage as they are a prem lge club. This would give the fixture a good starting point and could help make it a closer meeting. Bees would have to win 52-38 to win the meeting.
-
Some good points there, although i doubt if Mr Frost is short of a few bob. I would imagine the 3 loan signings may not all feature next year, possibly Larsen will and may be bought. Sundstrom was purchased straight from the prem lge and has become a heat leader. Its only a few years ago when P'boro had Bjerre, NKI, Batch and Schlein in the same team dont forget, but the Elite lge is being watered down with points limits every year, and the new 2/20 ruling has restricted team building even more. I dont think that ruling or the new d/up regs are beneficial at all.Why is it a big question as Gary has made his views clear on the subject and the demands to buy riders! The biggest problem with all this are the spin doctors/press that have released stories which always imflame fans and the lack of "Official" releases from the BSPA!
Oh and to quote your original post "A proper club gets their cheque book out and buys the rider" Why has Mr Frost not done this with your 3 loan signings? Lack of money as all other clubs find themselves in? I will never understand why Mr Frost bought/would want all those heatleaders as they were never going to be all used at the same time?!
-
Bach has not made any statements about that, Lawson did, but Jan Staechmann refuted that on Jan 8th, saying Lawson was never promised a team place, only that he would be considered.DId Bach and Lawson both say they thought they were offered places?why would you leave it until January to tell them both? DId you ever hear a statement from them saying they would not go with d/uppers before a few weeks ago.
-
So are we to debate fantasy and speculation ? Whats the point of your post then.Get off your high horse and read it again....'As a for instance..'
-
Has he had an offer of employment ? Thought certain posters on here were insisting no deal was done. Not doubting you Skidder1 - it really is the 'land of make-believe' though...
..and would still like to see the reason the BSPA is going against their own rulebook (my understanding anyway)...
No one can force anyone to buy anything...end of..
If Troy is excluded from the EL as a result of PBoro's intransigence, then surely there is a course of action he can follow...
As a for instance - if Troy has an offer of employment in the UK, then as I understand it, he is entitled to take up that offer (similar to a Brit in Aus) -so surely Pboro's actions must then be viewed as obstructive, as their intention is to deprive him of that employment or attempt to reduce the job opportunities open to him.
