    Rye House 2017

Well it seems strange that such a tiddler of a club wants to play with the big boys. But good luck to them. Kennett is nailed on. I knew that weeks ago. Wonder what night they are going to race on? A track I have strangely never been to. That will change in 2017.

    Somerset 2017

Welcome Somerset to the top flight! So we unfortunately lose Lakeside and their tricky track and gain Somerset, with a very good race track. They just need to keep growing the crowds now.

    Belle Vue 2017

Thank god there are a few real businessmen in the bspa who didn't let the problem with the council drift and opened early dialog. If it wasn't for certain members of the bspa the track would be gone already. Loads of work to be done to revive the fortunes of this club though.

    Poole 2017

Ellis rode NL so it will be taken into consideration. The bspa won't put a young improving Brit on a false E L average plus 1.4. The idea is to bring on young Brits not put them out of a team berth. So we use PL averages for Newman after all. What a suprise. Bet that turnip Gavan is spinning in his Ford invalid carriage he tries to flog right now. Lol! Can see what the bspa are trying to do but 50 is a low place to build to and some riders like Kurtz could find themselves out of a ride in 2017. Pretty sure Matt will already have a good inkling of our 1-7.

    Leicester Lions 2017

Why on earth do fans of Saturday clubs think attendances will plummet by riding regularly in mid week? Poole get good crowdson a Wednesday, Wolves every Monday, Swindon on a Thursday. Why would it be any problem for Leicester who on a Saturday are up against the football team?
  6. With the pound plumetting to a 30 year low due to, imo a dreadful brexit vote, and only worth 1.05 euros as I type this, will it mean the end to european riders heading to our shores? 12 month ago a pound was worth 1.35 euros. The carnage caused by the brexit vote hasn't yet hit us Brits yet, if we stay in the UK. Travel abroad and you will soon discover the pound doesn't go very far. In fact it has lost a huge chunk of its value compared to the dollar and euro. So will european riders demand to be paid in euros, or will they just say its not worth it? If they are offered a similar deal to last year their money will be way down when converted to euros. A serious problem facing EL promotions. Thoughts?

    Lakeside 2017

Not a mention of Stuart Douglas. Has he pulled out of the club? Living in the usa what is the point if the club are losing money and he isnt around to at least enjoy the racing.

    Poole 2017

Great way to start the season. Should imagine a very good lineup as well.

    Belle Vue 2017

Well considering the debt you can't go wrong with Pairman, considering he is an accountant. With Gordon a promoter at Poole, we can now useBelle Vue as a feeder club for Pirates. Let them have a learning year there before coming to Poole. Sounds good.

    Dave Lanning Rip

Very sad news to read. A great, great commentator. RIP Dave Lanning.
  11. Yep. And I stick by that. My family before anything else.
  12. Theres a huge difference between this vote and a general election. And perhaps that's why the public shouldn't have been allowed to vote. In a general election if you don't like the result you only have to wait a few years before you can vote again to do something about it. With brexit we are stuffed and have to suffer the consequences for the rest of our lives. When reality finally sets in it will all be too late. Why do you think Blair never let the public vote on this? He didn't think they were intelligent enough to understand what they were actually voting for.
  13. The problem was the public should never have been anywhere near a vote of such magnitude as this. The common man or woman doesn't have the understanding of what they were voting for, and as such have caused a catastrophe for the United Kingdom. The majority of brexit voters don't understand the economics involved. Instead they voted to keep the migrants out and 'get their country back'. Well, that isn't going to change. The EU migrants will continue to enter the UK just as before. And if anyone thinks new UK laws which are answerable to no one is good, they need their head examined. No European courts to appeal to if you feel you are being treated unfairly. With price rises now starting to show across the board from food to electricals to fuel to trips abroad, how long will it be before the bleating starts and these brexit people start to moan at the government to "do something about it". Yet they are the very people who have caused these price increases. And its only going to get worse over 2017, with most economists expecting parity between the pound and euro by the end of next year. I do wish the government had the balls for a second referendum just to clarify what people want. Now the effects of brexit are starting to show I would put my money on a landslide vote to remain. Most people don't like to see a shrinking wallet and unable to now afford holidays abroad.

    Wildcards 2017.....

The correct wildcards but Emil really should have done the qualifiers.
  15. Boll*cks to the majority. Only myself and my family are important to me I am afraid. I don't give two hoots for Fred Bloggs and others who voted for brexit. What is important is that I am not affected financially and brexit has affected me which is unacceptable. Sorry I am not a socialist. By the way. Tea's up! Literally.
  16. If you are thinking of buying a new mac, you are too late. Prices increased today by hundreds of pounds due to the weak pound. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-37799235
  17. Can I have your address so I can post an invoice to you for the thousands of pounds I have lost due to brexit? So I am going to lose tens of thousands in the next 5-6 years to discover if I am right or not. That makes sense. I really hope brexit voters are bitten hard on the arse, as I doubt the money I am losing NOW will ever be recuperated.
  18. Agree. Its not as if it was a general election where Labour have somehow managed to get in and we have to suffer them for a term. The brexit vote is completely different and in my opinion will wreck the economy, with The UK suffering considerably because of the vote to leave. How the hell can brexit people say, 'Ok, lets all be happy with the decision and make the best of it'. Never going to happen. Depending where you sit the result of brexit will either hit you lightly or hard. But hit you it will. How can brexit voters say to me, except it and come on board. Are they going to compensate me the thousands of pounds I am going to be out of pocket, every year? Are they going to compensate me for the hundreds of pounds I am already out of pocket since the vote? The brexit vote will cost us all very dearly and I feel anger and frustration, not only for myself, but for my family and younger generation who have been sold down the swanny by a bunch of middle aged white people 'wanting their country back'. A catastrophic disaster for the UK. Nothing is going to change my mind on this, but I suppose I will be able to say. 'I told you so' in a couple/three years time when we cut ourselves off from our main trading partners. Realising the damage being caused I have been working hard and already changed one of my businesses to be based through The Netherlands. At least I will be paid in the Euro and can convert back to make up the shortcomings of the weaker pound.
  19. Just how much have the government given in guarentees to Nissan? An awful lot I should imagine. Considering Nissan employs tens of thousands in the north east, directly and indirectly, it was imperative the government fell over backwards to make sure Nissan didn't pull out and head for mainland europe. No one knows what consessions the government have given Nissan. Huge tax breaks? Who knows except the inner circle. Whatever it was it was necessary to keep them from relocating on the continent.

    Melbourne 2016

    Of course he didn't.
  21. This is a nonsense thread. If Hancock rode for Wolves it wouldn't have even been started.
  22. Steve Shovlar

    Poole 2017

He had two serious injuries in 2016, one life threatening. His PL average is niether here nor there concerning Poole. I believe he has improved and will continue to do so and has a bit more in him yet. You are entitled to your opinion but if you saw his playoff rides I am struggling to believe you don't think he has improved.
  23. Steve Shovlar

    Poole 2017

Rides mosts tracks well. Perhaps struggles at Swindon was excellentv at Belle Vue and is consistent at Coventry, Lynn. Lakeside. Certainly improving year upon year. Don't think he has topped out yet.

    Speedway Agm

The agm should have already happened two months ago. November as far too late to sort out rules and plans for the following season. Other countries are so far ahead of the game its a joke. An agm in November is a completely antiquated time to run it. If it was held in August/September riders would be happy to have their teams berths sorted, or if they are to be dropped, give themselves longer to find another club.

    Poole 2017

So Kyles 3.79 means he is nailed on at reserve. With rumours of Ellis on a 3.0 using his NL average, we have our bottom two sorted.
