  1. Good crowd in tonight but they need big crowds in the regular season not just the playoffs. At least there should be an atmosphere early on.

    Belle Vue 2017

They did. At home to Kings Lynn.
  3. Nah disagree. Not anyone but Belle Vue fault they croaked when it mattered. Don't remember much sympathy for Poole in 2010 finishing 24 points clear of Coventry and it happening to us. Just have to take it on the chin and come back stronger. We did in 2011. Tough for Belle Vue but so many sports end a season in playoffs. The NFL have playoffs and that's one of the worlds biggest sports. Lets hope for some great racing tonight and Belle Vue putting up a fight, to make up for the dull first leg.
  4. Sure it could be. In fact I would bet my house on this being a way more entertaining meeting than Monday. Doesn't stop me saying 18 points is too big a gap to pull back. In fact Belle Vue need 20 because if its tied Woffinden will be out in a runoff.
  5. All over way before the final heats.
  6. Really bad luck to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. And on top of that the airfence failed to do its job at a critical time. Would like to see him come back next season and carry on where he left off this. Deserves a world championship.
  7. Dont be ridiculous. No one wants to see riders injured.

    Sky Sports Deal

What the hell is cage warriors? Sounds like WWE wrestling. Why would speedway be better off on BT? Less viewers is not good. And most speedway fans are not at all interested in motogp and Superbikes. The only benefit speedway could have is that BT come in and try to take the speedway from Sky, meaning a bidding war which will increase the money speedway gets. Lets hope that happens.
  10. The only chance is for something like Woofinden to bump into Thorsell and both will be ruled out with concussion on their first ride. But even that probably wouldn't be enough and no one would want that to happen anyway.
  11. Who voted it best prepared? Doc Bridgett? Certainly not neutral fans. I for one would not like to watch my speedway there every week. Home riders waiting for away rider to wobble and make error then nip up the inside. There are better tracks in the EL than Monmore, which I would place well down the pecking order. If you like to see riders going backwards on the bends, overlocking and wobbling about, Monmore is the place. I like my speedway to be faster and where riders can race without the fear of wobbling or overlocking.
  12. A complete anti climax for the neutral fan. No matter how much hope BV fans have of pulling it back is Bob Hope or no hope. And Bob has left the building. A pretty boring first leg full of gate and go or a mistake from a BV rider allowing the dialled in Wolves team to clear off did not thrill the neutral. In fact, was last night the most boring playoff final meeting on record? Wolves fans will of course be lapping it up but I thought it was dire entertainment. Cant blame Wolves riders though. Basically the championship has been won by the team with the biggest home advantage. Commiserations to BV. A decent effort. Hooefully this winter will see things happening to allow you to be there ir thereabouts again.
  13. A shame for neutrals who wanted a thriller. Its like opening a beautifully wrapped Christmas present and finding socks and pants inside.
  14. Always good to be possitive but Monmore is a trick track while the wide open spaces of nss will suit the continental riders just fine. The phones will be ringing off the hook tomorrow asking for refunds.
  15. Thing is, joking aside, it wouldnt have been a vanilla meeting tonight if Poole had been in the final. With a bv v Wolves final, the neutrals are not bothered who wins really as long as theres a few decent heats. If Poole were in it the neutrals would be screaming for bv or Wolves. You can be sure of one thing with Poole. They never give up. Afraid the white flag was well and truly raised above the bv pits tonight, which is a shame for neutrals as the final is now a foregone conclusion.
  16. Itsvall very well and good being proud of the fact that Belle Vue have kept the same 1-7 all season. But truth be told changes should have been made. Wolverhampton strengthened up massively bringing Woffinden in while Belle Vue treaded water. Jacobs was as bad if not worse than a NL reserve. Didn't have a clue. Holding throttle wide open at nss is not enough. He has very little track craft and I don't know any other team in the country who would have kept him on. Fricke won the u21 title last night so should have been on a massive high tonight. Instead he was pathetic and let his team down badly. No excuse. Zagar, like Holder, struggled around the place. Poor tonight as Holder was last week. No way on gods earth that Belle Vue have a sniff. The gap is 8 points too much and if bv get 10 up out comes Woffy on a t/r. Wolves can win on Wednesday to have a huge aggregate win.
  17. Both hands. Game over. Absolutely no way back whatsoever.
  18. Completely game over. A shame for us neutrals Great British Bakeoff beckons.
  19. Have Wolves made a cockup by not having Woffinden in heat 15?
  20. Agree. He won't be missed by the majority of us. Said himself he came back for the glory as he has won sweet fa this year.
  21. They could well be taking a 20 point lead to Belle Vue. Any other track and Belle Vue would probably have done Ok. Monmore too tricky for them.
  22. Fricke a super let down tonight. Game over. Too big a lead now. One thing. Why do the Wolves fans not cheer their team? Everytime the camera goes to the crowd you see a load of old men filling in their programs. At Poole the crowd would be going mental. Strange how crowds vary in behaviour around the country.
  23. Those tapes are so slack. Need tightening.
  24. Come on BV. Don't let it slip further!
  25. At last some fight from bv. Track could be slickening off. Big roller from Worrall.
