I thought King Arturs exclusion even more ridiculous. Never seen anything like it. Totally unwarranted.

Mark Loram

Borunemouth Echo. Loramski looking for a Poole send-off 7:00am Friday 30th April 2010 By Phil Chard » MARK Loram has confirmed he wants to stage his British ‘Farewell Meeting’ at Poole next year. Loramski breathtakingly star-red for Pirates in 1999 and 2000 and is still a cult hero among the Wimborne Road faithful. Despite living in East Anglia, and Ipswich being his last club before injury finally, and cruelly, ended his career in December, Poole’s first world champion wants to hold his benefit on the Dorset bowl. Pirates chief Matt Ford will back Loram’s bid to stage such a meeting in 2011 when his request is put forward to the British Speedway Promoters’ Association for them to make a decision. Loram, one of the most popular riders to wear the skull and crossbones race-jacket, said: “I have spoken to Matt and said what the options are. “But I would like to have it at Poole because, with the greatest respect to Ipswich, I know he will have a little bit more time to help me with the meeting. “He’s a great promoter and it’s very nice of him to get involved with it. I do appreciate his help.” Earlier this year, Ford said he wanted Loram’s 2000 world title-winning achievement recognised by his inclusion in the Queen’s Honours List. The Wimborne Road supremo called for Britain’s speedway fraternity to back his appeal so that Loram and another ex-Pirate, Gary Havelock, who won the world title in 1992, get the recognition he feels they deserve. Loram, who was just been inducted in to the Poole club’s ‘Hall of Fame’, said: “It would be very nice to have the recognition, not just for myself and Gary, but for the sport as a whole. “Also, I’m honoured to be inducted in to Poole’s ‘Hall of Fame’. I’ve always had fond memories of my time at the club. “I’ve made it quite clear in the past the best years of my career were here because of the obvious, winning the World Championship. “That first meeting at Poole after I came back from Poland with the trophy is a night I’ll never forget. “So it’s nice to be inducted alongside Pirates greats like Tony Rickardsson, Craig Boyce, Malcolm Simmons, Pete Smith, Brian Crutcher, Ken Middle-ditch and the rest of the boys. “I’m very proud to be part of it.” <•>Poole’s runaway 70-24 home victory over Lakeside on Wednesday was the third biggest in the Elite League since it’s inception in 1997. Number one is Eastbourne’s 75-0 home triumph over King’s Lynn in 2001, followed by Oxford’s 71-21 home demolition of Coventry in 2004. King’s Lynn walked out after Eagles refused their request to use guest Danny Bird for Lee Richmond. -

Horrendous crash with Swiderski and Nicki. Frightening. Jeleniewski rode into Nicki who clipped Swiderski, who flipped completely over the front of his bike. Must have broken a few bones at least. Actually sickening as his whole wrist is flapping about as he rolls along the ground. -

Holders mistke was to swap to another bike for a heat. Cost him very dearly and a likely semi final spot. he did show some great fighting potential though and will be in the mix at most GPs. Not going to get close to be challenging for the title just yet but certainly right in there. Felt sorry for Tai. Clearly way off the pace and out of his depth. One season then gone? I hope he does much better at the next GP but reckon the British GP will be his best shot at points. Zorro's race win was great. Showed he is not way off the back of the pack. 4-5 points a meeting is about what he can get with thye very occassional better score. Having fun with nothing to lose. -

I thought it was above average for a GP. Just didn't think it was spectacular as the commentators were going on. It was like they were on a mission to rave whatever the meeting was like. It was good but not as great as they were say (my opinion of course). There were a few good races. Holder battle with Crump and Emil, Kolodziej, Pedersen going backwards, Zorros win. By the way just a heads up. I thought that PL meeting at Scunthorpe last year was very good. -

Thought it was a slightly above average GP with a boring final to be honest. Didn't buy into Tatum and Pearsons ravings at all. A few good races but nothing to rave about like those two have. Brits disappointed as usual. Clear to all the Tai is currently miles out of his depth. Shouldn't really have got the WC. Harris suprised by making the semi so can't moan about that as its better than he usually does. Holder continued his Poole form by riding slow bikes. Put himself about but Emil went past him like he was standing still. -

Officially he is working on his bikes which have ignition problems. Unofficially could it be Matt doesn't want Poole riders risking their necks in meaningless fixtures? -

Adams doesn't strengthen the field. Holder would have made the rostrum but Adams in meetings like this doesn't normally get 10. -

KK loves Swindon. He guested for us in 2008 when Bjarne was injured and scored 14 from 5, beating Adams from the back in heat 13. and seeing him of easily in another. Perhaps KK would make the ideal replacement for Adams in 2011. Better get on the phone to Matt quick! -

Can only go by the radio commentary, which said he had Bjarne off. Oh, and the ref who excluded Emil. -

Emil had Bjarne off in one race. By the sounds of it on the radio he was all over the place. Bjarne doesn't ride Blunsdon well so I was suprised he made the semi. -

Excellent coverage from Wilstshire radio. Well done to all. Sounds like a good crowd. 2700 reported inside Blunsdon. Well done to Nicki, who by the sound of things was in a different class. What happened to Adams then? Wind down season already started? Not making the final on his own track was a poor show by the sound of it. Perhaps Zagar would have been the better bet after all. -

Thats good Richard I will be listening in. Can't make it up tonight but I will hopefully be there on Thursday, weather permitting. A shame you can't stick a camera up on the live feed so we can watch it as well as hearing you. Shouldn't be difficult to do! -

I had a client to visit in WSMare this morning. Was going to hang around for this evenings meeting but unfortunately after a settled period it decides to rain. Oh well next Wednesday it is for me then.
