6 of us stopping in Verona and we fly into Milan Bergamo on the Friday. Verona Saturday morning, Lake Garda on Sunday and Venice Monday,Milan Tuesday fly back Tuesday night.We have tickets for 1st bend seating (concrete steps) best take a cushion if you are sitting here. Small stadium think the limit about 8000 last year about 3/4 full.

After meeting him at the Leicester Speedway Supporters Club Christmas Social Les Collins what a real gentleman nothing to much trouble for him and who I am sure would make an interesting article

Pawel Waloszek was the third Polish rider to ride for The Hunters after Marian Kaiser in 1959 & Stefan Kwoczala in 1960.He rode as the second heat leader and averaged over 7 points a match in all competitions.(This was taken from Speedway in Leicester by Alan Jones.)I can copy the page of his scores in each meeting & send to you if this is of any use

Enjoyed watching Colin when he raced for the Lions .I think that 1980 & 81 being his best years A great team man wherever he rode.

Received issue 18 this morning and very pleased to see an article on Ray Wilson which was long overdue.Enjoyed many nights at Blackbird Road watching Ray,JB and the many other great riders the Lions had.For what he did for England it should be Sir Ray.

Remember Howard Cole hitting one of the lamp posts on the first bend at Blackbird Road in I think a British Semi Final meeting many years ago.

Would just like to plug Alan Jones new book Speedway in Leicester "The Hunters Era".A superb record of this time at Leicester Speedway with all results & records of riders.It really brought home to me when looking at points scored what a brilliant rider "Hurri-Ken McKinlay" was. A must read for all Hunter fans.

Having just found this site looking thro brought back many memories.I started going to speedway at Leicester when they were the "Hunters" with riders like Ken McKinlay,Jack Geran & Gerry Hussey(lost his life in a midget car race in Australia) & can just remember Len Williams then prgreesing to Anders Michanek.Ray Wilson,JohnBoulger,Les Collins etc.Just loved the meetings with the "Bees" with Olsen,Boocock & co.Thanks for the memories keep them coming
