  1. We’ve been rocking the personalised rider jingles and heat intro’s for years but as you can see from a post above it isn’t everybody’s bag. We’ve recently ditched the American 2 Mins time allowance one though and replaced it with a 2 Minutes To Showtime Jingle.

    Some examples are:

Chris Harris – Motorhead, He’s the Bomber

Scott Nicholls – Made in England or Back for Good when he came back to Coventry

Hand Andersen – Put Your Hans Up In The Air

Nico Covatti – Covatti to the song Amore

Leigh Lanham – I am the one and onLEIGH

I like them and I know a lot of the fans do where we present but you’ll never please everyone and sometimes to link with a riders name they have to be pretty corny. Particulary Polish wise lol.

We also take music requests and do shout out's via text message or twitter so trying to keep in with the young un's ;)

  2. Just been listening to BBC WM and Alan Phillips stated he and Charles are prepared to clear all the Birmingham Brummies debts to riders and suppliers amounting to £45k. He would then leave the club in the hands of Charlie to continue running and enable them to finish the 2014 season. He also stated he had already offered this to the BSPA but been flatly refused because they wanted the family out of the sport. The plot thickens......

  3. Delighted to hear there may be light at the end of the tunnel for the Brummies if only a glimmer. If and that's a big IF all debts are paid off to enable the club to return to racing ASAP I along with I would expect many suppliers wouldn't be offering any further credit and would require payment on the night in future from Charles and his new promotion team (as per most other tracks).

Having said that they would have mine and my teams full support and I greatly appreciate the efforts being made to keep the club alive.

Seeing the tears at Belle Vue really hit home and the faithful fans deserve a positive future. You can't take out poor attendances on the fans who actually do turn up week in week out.

  4. There were no promises Arthur despite many repeated attempts to contact via email, phone and text since the last home meeting.

Personally after my support of Alan last season resulting in me losing several other roles within the sport I find this a massive kick in the teeth but hold no grudges and just hope a secure future can be found for the Brummies, the loyal fans deserve it.

I wish Alan and his family all the best for the future as he had a big heart for the Brummies but similar to Sandhu at Coventry I doubt you will see him involved in the sport again.

  5. If all the debts are similar to those owed to ourselves for presentation then they could stretch back upto 3 months. Although I would doubt that the riders wages are that far behind but stadium rent, track staff etc could well be.

With Tony Mole declaring himself out especially with his passion and history for the Brummies I am doubtful we will see any money paid.

If there's anything I can do to help I am happy to offer my services and I also still have the full support of BIKRfm.

  6.

Many people, my friend, do appear to be voting with their feet.

Your Polish trip sounded great mate. Inspired me to think about a visit. You planning anymore? i reckon a fair few people off here would be up for it. What'd be an approx cost for an in and out visit?

  7. The music is on for at least half an hour before the start of the racing and you and Yorkie are doing nothing, maybe you could spare a few minutes of your time and have a wander around with this sound engineer before the meeting starts.

I wont hold my breath waiting for some action its just like the BSPA get them in and then dont give a toss how the supporters are treated. Ears plugs I think.

I do give a toss mate and will try and do what I can but it'd need to be tested at the levels it goes out at during a meeting not before (when it's on quieter), hence a Sound Engineer being there throughout all the meetings.

Plus the PA is constantly being changed in the various areas to suit, dogs, stox etc.

The easiest thing is to tell a steward who will tell the engineer who should rectify it, but bear in mind if someone 2 seats away from you prefers it loud and requests it's turned up a few minutes later the engineer isn't going to keep adjusting it at a whim. Maybe locating a quieter area of the stadium would be a better option if it really bothers you but it should be your perogative to sit where you like and I understand that but everyones preference levels wise could well be different as it will be with styles of music etc.

  8. Thanks for your reply, but as before you want the supporters to sort it out, you have the word of the management, we dont, so as one of the blokes who chat on the mic, why cant you sort it out.

Again go and listen to the PA from the supporters point of view, it probably sounds a lot different to you on the centre green.

Have a walk into the stands and get yorkie to chat to you from the pits or centre green and listen to the disco we the supporters have to try and talk across during a meeting.

Perhaps its not falling on deaf ears, I suppose the possibly is that you are deaf. :t:

I can't sort it out mate because the only speakers we have direct control of are the big ones on the dog track at Brum. At Cov I can't be on and off the track checking volume levels all the time as the have a sound engineer for that, it's his role to roam the stadium and check its appropriate. And re me having the word of the management I've been chasing Charlie at Brum for nearly a week now lol.

And Yorkie wise as I explained if he's turned down then he will just talk louder as he's used to hearing himself at what he deems an acceptable level.

Music wise and loudness wise we, again are guided by the promotion, it's a double edged sword, too loud alienates the oldies but then they want to encourage the youngsters and entertain them. But are there any youngsters? Maybe so at Coventry but definitely not at Brum.

It very hard to please everyone mate. Every week at Brum someone approaches me re how quiet it is on turn 4 but if we turn it up on the master then someone on bends 1 and 2 or in the bar will complain it's deafening and the bar staff won't be on the ball enough to adjust it.

    We can but try........

  9. Thanks fellas good to hear its appreciated. Some people dont like the associated jingles but each one is thought out. Its just getting in sync with our warped minds thats tricky at times to identify the link.

With the playoffs looming Brandon should be bouncing again soon. Who knows I might even throw in a War Cry, although that probably wont suit everyone ;)

  10. At Cov the speakers are all operated independently and they have a sound technician so any problems just let a steward know and they will let him know. I know the main volume was dropped at some point on Friday as Rich told me on the way home.

At Brum it's a bit different the outside is all one volume so if it's lowered in a loud area then someone complains in a quiet area they want it turned up (eg turn 4) but the individual bars have their own controls so again if it's uncomfortable in the bar just ask the bar staff to turn it up or down.

Most stadiums need a big upgrade sound wise to cope with modern music presentation styles as they haven't been upgraded in years but then money is tight in the sport generally. Brum's so poor on the home straight that we have had to source seperate external PA speakers to ensure the home straight can always hear. A few seasons ago it used to go on and off during the meeting which was really bad.

Not passing the buck but we just plug into the existing systems and they are controlled by the stadiums but we're happy to try and get the message across. With Yorkie he has a volume level he is used to hearing himself at through the tannoy so if he's on quieter he then speaks louder, His mic had an issue again this week due to some problem caused by the dogs so fingers crossed should be sorted for next meeting for his pits interviews.

Apologies for any issues, we are working at both tracks to do everything in our power to make the presentation the best it possibly can be but a lot is out of our control.

  11. I fulfilled a long time goal last hosting an Elite League Match at Coventry. Many thanks to the Coventry Management for bringing us in to do the presentation and music etc. In particular big thanks to Neil and Blayne for all your support. Saw a different Bomber last night throwing some shapes in the understand disco afterwards, top bloke :) Any pointers or comments happily received and looking forward to the next match 👍
