    Ice Speedway

Nice to see The final round of this years Ice Speedway GP shown on Motors tv. Pity they did not get the TV listing right as most would have missed it. I only found it during a bit of channel surfing. It wasnt the most professional comentary but the camers work was good. A few emails to Motors TV to show the level of interest may get a better coverage next year.

    Ice Racing News

Hi Cat Wolfslayer, myself and a few friends have travelled for the last 3 years. As Conker's said the airport is about 50 minutes from the centre on the local, 35 on the straight through. The Stadium is a steady 45mins stroll from the centre. We have an hotel on the Kurfurstendamm which is about 30 mins away. There are buses, underground and trains which all use the same ticket, last year about 2 euro's for any 2 hour journey and about 8 euro' for a day's unlimited travel. If you want any further info just ask

    Ice Racing Assen & Berlin

Conkers Stadium opens at 2.00 for a 5.00 start, we will aim to be there 2.30 ish. It may be a bit late to meet 1 hour before the start, as, depending on where you have tickets (for those without a press pass!!) the good viewing places may fill up about then. Would suggest about 3.00 would leave enough time to have a chat and then find a good viewing spot.

    Ice Racing Assen & Berlin

Hi Conkers Wolfslayer, myself and the rest of the crew will be on the last bend on saturday and 2nd bed on sunday but if you are early enough we will be around the food stands and the pits up to an hour before kick off. There will be six of us so we should be fairly distinctive and 2 will have purple and black Hoosier jackets. we will be happy to meet up and talk to anyone. Easy jet still have tickets on the miday flight on friday and midday back on monday for round £100.00 return if anyone is making a late trip

    Berlin Ice Racing 17/18 March

There are usually plenty of tickets, but you may not be able to get into the popular areas, seats, first bend etc. we usually order tickets by email through the website mentioned above, and collect them on the day. Only problem is payment by bank order, which can be quite expensive with the add on fees. we usually stop in hotels near to the main centre which is a steady half hours walk from the stadium. The hotel that Conkers stays in is certainly the nearest to the track, it depends what your looking for from the weekend. We always try to get some sightseeing in and we have found a good local bar owned by an american just off the Ku'dam
  6. Wolfslayer, myself and a few others will be on gegengerade on Saturday and Kurve 1 on Sunday

    Ice Speedway

Doc If your hotel is in the Gasteiner Strasse, the stadium is approx 1.5k to the west of you, adjacent the inner ring motorway. We are on the Ku'dam, about 2 km due north of the stadium. I ordered stadium tickets direct last year and will be doing so again. If you need any help or advice let me know

    Ice Speedway

The stadium is open air. Tickets may be scarce if the Germans have a good team. I went last year and prebooked our tickets for collection at the stadium, it's better safe than sorry if you want to choose which area of the track you want to view from. The stadium is easy to find, several websites have good maps. Let me know the area you are staying and i will give you some idea of directions

    Parking In Cardiff

Try the NCP website. There are four multi story car parks, the ideal one seems to be at the east end of the pedestrianised area. (Dumfries Place i think) Open until midnight and £8.50 max charge
  11. For all those who are going for the first time I hope you enjoy the weekend as much as I have, for the last 15 years. We would be there this year but we have deceided to go to Berlin the following weekend. Have a walk round to the pits, the riders are very friendly, try the fast food outlets inside the stadium entrance. The frikandel and fries are particularly moorish. The Dutch are very friendly and helpfull. If you get to the stadium early enough have walk into Assen centre, it's only about 15-20 mins stroll. For those who may be going to Berlin, a few of us, Conkers and Iris 123 in particular, are going to try to get together so let us know and we can meet during the meeting.

    assen ice speedway info

Fair play to you Conkers, we will arrange to meet a little nearer the day. We have a hotel about a mile away, just of the Ku'dam, next to the Warsteiner Inn.

    assen ice speedway info

For anyone who has not booked up yet, I have travelled to the Assen weekend for the last 12 years, and it's a great weekend. But if you feel a little more adventureous, the Berlin weekend is the following week. With easyjet now flying to Berlin from 2 -3 airports it has bought the costs comparable to that of Assen. (If you are flying, that is). The airport is some 18 miles from the centre of Berlin and the Stadium approx 2 miles. The public transport is excellent, with buses, trams, trains and underground all within easy reach of the airport, hotels and stadium. Day or weekend tickets can be purchased at very reasonable rates, and they can be used on all of the above services. Hotels are plentifull and usually dotted around the city centre. Stadium tickets, hotels and flights can all be ordered/booked from the web. Being the last GP the racing can be hectic and i have always felt that outdoor racing, especially under lights, is a better spectacle than an enclosed stadium, although you are at the mercy of the weather. Conkers. We won't see you this year as myself and Wolfslayer will be in Berlin, hope you have a good weekend.
