Mdl + Sdl Gets Approval For 2017
Sings4Speedway replied to LaurenceRogers's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Brilliant news. Well done to all who stood firm & together to see this through by preserving the highly successful MDL & introducing the SDL. May they both continue to flourish for many years to come. -
To replace Compton? Reckon my Nan would do a similar job

Rye House V Wolverhampton Sat 1st April
Sings4Speedway replied to Dave Stummings's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Car park carnage as ever at rye. Already chock full and only one parking attendant scratching his head -
So if Freddie had 2 GTR's who had the other one? and did they use it?

And what are the service costs in the UK? As ive said before im all for choice but a sole engine requirement would generate a monopoly and ultimately drive prices up as you have to buy a GTR whatever the costs. At present riders can choose where they service their engines, to what level and how much. Choose whether they wish to ride GM, Jawa, GTR or A.N.Other and that is the perfect scenario. There are currently very few enforced equipment uses in speedway & long may that continue.

Cradley V Kings Lynn Nl 29/3/17

20+, 30+ ......is this the winning margin or the fell remounted count of Locke & Hampshire? -
I believe Ipswich got a facility for Kyle Newman so the precedent has been set.
-
Bad news for Adam. Good news for Eastbourne as I'm certain they will be cooking up another rider deal soon.
-
I'm not against the engines existence and all for freedom of choice but I would strongly appose compulsory use. In the same way that electric cars may be cheaper to run but how would the driving population feel if they were told it's the only vehicle allowed on UK roads

Is there any word regarding what was discussed / decided at the AGM. With the involvement of a new south west league and withdrawal of some teams I suspect there are many changes?
-
Completely agree with every single word of the above spoken. As for the use of Iwade has this been confirmed how it will run? As i am led to believe MDL/SJL would require an SCB referee & appropriate first aid cover? Hence why the current matches piggy back onto league meetings to reduce costs.

Thought it was 250 demo laps? Or do GTR make a 250 version also?
-
Personally i haven't seen any around during the early season although have heard of a couple being tested. The last piece of speculation i heard was that there are some riders still awaiting delivery but due to question marks regarding how the engines will be sealed?
-
Well as i clearly must have won last season i will have another go Baseby 7.73 Kinsley 5.39 Greenwood 6.82 Hopwood 5.83 JPB 6.97 Jenkins 3.00 Bickley 3.00 Total 38.74

I think it looks a very competitive year and there won't be many points between the pay off places & those who miss out. Certainly makes an exciting prospect with any wobbles or injuries proving costly & the likelihood of close matches will mean those riders who struggle will be more exposed.
-
It would mean that they lacked the extra fire power at 3&4 though. Id expect Bickley to be at 2 after the first set of averages anyway. Strong looking side though. Much will depend on the meetings the double uppers miss, if Shuttleworth's confidence rises or falls with his Championship rides and how the Woodhulls fare but i dont see many teams beating them at home.

King's Lynn Young Stars 2017
Sings4Speedway replied to Speedball's topic in National League Speedway
I believe its 'facility' for any reason e.g the dreaded RR. Unless its the number 1 missing, the missing rider is doubling up or there is more than one rider from the 2-5 then a guest is allowed? Either way had Kyle completed the first meeting the rule could have been exploited but i commend Kings Lynn for attempting to track a full team whatever the level of riders that are brought in as cover. -
Birmingham Brummies 2017 Hat Trick
Sings4Speedway replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in National League Speedway
Whilst NL riders receive a contribution it certainly does not cover all travel costs however as you are funding the majority of the fuel yourself i tip my hat to you and fully accept that as a non contracted rider you have the right to choose where you ride and when. Back to the Brummies & i see that Tom Bacon has given up a very well paid job to go racing full time. Obviously determined to make a good go of things this year. -
I grasp what you are saying but in reality riders should react to the start rather than anticipate/guess when the tapes will go up. Obviously sometimes they will get a beauty others they will get pulled back/ hampered

Birmingham Brummies 2017 Hat Trick
Sings4Speedway replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in National League Speedway
Whoops! An excellent training tool though......if you ca turn one of those you can turn anything -
Could be some very controversial decisions. The problem with 1-3 seconds is that it will increase anticipated starts as i believe its 1-7 seconds at the moment? However if the refs are strong and are prepared to put the green light on / let the tapes go when they choose it might finally reduce the amount of blinking gardening

Birmingham Brummies 2017 Hat Trick
Sings4Speedway replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in National League Speedway
Im certainly of the opinion that the 2500cc bikes are a brilliant way of progressing a young riders career but at present there is a real lack of riders competing on them to make it viable to introduce them to any form of league. Whilst im sure a couple have stepped up (Thompson twins etc) last season the max number of 250 riders across the 8 youth rounds was 6 and most rounds had just 4. -
Birmingham Brummies 2017 Hat Trick
Sings4Speedway replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in National League Speedway
Whilst i fully accept that the SDL/MDL are purely amateur leagues and its not always possible to get the same riders every week it certainly doesn't sound that good when you state we can/will only do the home meetings and leave the other squad members to do the other further meetings. Riders gaining experience and in the earlier stages i can understand but those with NL aspirations it irks me slightly as the distances don't get any less. Squad systems do help spread the burden but if there are riders who are prepared to do all/most meetings they would be chosen first if i was a team manager (which thank heavens im not). -
Peterborough V Scunthorpe C1 24/3/17
Sings4Speedway replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Few points coming Tom Bacons way then. Should give him an early season boost as Campos hasn't had much time to prepare and from what i hear may have over indulged at Christmas, Pancake day, spring equinox? -
