Amazed at the work put in on this thread.

    Excellent stuff.

I feel I'm almost there now but still having the same problem as SWhitton above?

The white screen and every subsequent screen overlaps the previous one rendering it unplayable?  Seems like its within touching distance but still agonizingly out of reach!! :(

Have now tried this on 3 different laptops and all have the same problem?

    Anyone any ideas?

  3. Don't think there ever was one to be honest?

There was one story released in the local news about supposed plans for a track, but the current MDL Knights knew nothing about it and as far as I know there hasn't been a single word since?

Not sure why the people connected announced anything really??

A shame as I think a team in MK could really work nowadays

  4. I'm still missing the logic behind Garrity moving into the 1-5. Draft riders get averages after 4 meetings anyway. But him riding in reserve as a draft rider to start with would mean that right now Coventry would have a great team as someone like Barker could have replaced him in the 1-5 (meaning always one of Barker or Garrity in reserve) and Coventry would still have 6 points to find the last second string.

Well that's what I would have thought yes. It seems to be only detrimental to Coventry to track him in the 1-5 if you don't need to straight away?

Strange, but then this is Speedway so....

  5. But if Garrity was guaranteed to stay at Coventry, what would be the point in him going in the 1-5 if they could initially track him as a reserve? (albeit until the averages changed?)

That makes no sense whatsoever? And is only detrimental to Coventry's teambuilding process?

    Am I missing something?

  6. Apologies if this is covered elsewhere but can anyone tell me why Jason Garrity is now a fully fledged rider in the 1-5 and Kyle Newman is still allowed to race as a reserve?

Is it just to do with age/experience?

And could Garrity drop down to reserve if his average dipped and will Kyle Newman go in the top 5 once the GSA's change?

    Thanks

  7. It really odd, Ladbrokes have basically refused to take any bets off me (unless you count a few 10p and £1 bets) - I still won £6 off them tonight though! bet365 have now limited my bets so I can now only make £100 profit. Corals are also limiting me and I've barely ever bet with them, just the odd GP flutter and I'm sure they've almost all lost! There clearly some database somewhere for bookies as they have all suddenly limited me after one big lucky win! Although it's entirely possible that Corals just don't take veyr big bets on speedway, I've never paid much attention to them, other than for GPs

Sky have been limiting me for a while - heat betting is just too easy, wait for a track (like Mondays) with an obvious gate advantage and sting them.

This is certainly not the case SCB. Betting firms certainly do not share details of their clients with their rivals!!

Betting on a minority sport like Speedway is highly likely to get your account restricted very quickly, especially if that's all you bet on? Even more so if you bet "in running", race by race.

Quite a large proportion of speedway fans who bet are likely to just as knowledgeable, if not more so than the person who sticks the prices out. Plus a sport like speedway is prone to firms getting filthed over by team news/injuries etc.

If you consider a sport like football...

...there is a massive amount of people who bet on it

...everybody THINKS they know a lot about football

...and the prices are nearly always rock solid

So if you were a long term winning punter on football you would be much more likely to keep your account going a lot longer than if you were betting successfully on a sport like Speedway.

One piece of advice if you do want to keep your accounts going a bit longer (hopefully), is to not bet on "filthy" prices. (ie some team news that the prices do not reflect etc). Don't forget if you have noticed it, all the wrong uns will have as well and you will be tarred with the same brush.

  8. And also, 50 points to the winner, 30 for second etc, do the heat points come into it as well? So for example tai scores 15 point maximum, but then comes last in the final, are his points 10, 15 or 25?

Thanks, been betting for 25 years but never spread betting

No, you are just betting on what is called a 50-30-20-10 Index. It is 50pts for the winner, 30pts for 2nd, 20pts for 3rd and 10pts for 4th. This is regardless of what event you are betting on.

eg you will have Horse races that are 50-30-20-10, even the Big Brother index is 50-30-20-10.

If you have a credit limit, of say £500, you wouldn't need to pay a penny in before your bet. You would just settle up fortnightly/monthly if you lost.

  9.

You risk £70 at best you can win £180. If you put £70 on Hancock at sportingbet at the odds of 8.00 EW, you win £613 if he is 1st or win £123 if he finish at 2nd or 3rd. Not even close.

    Sporting Index spread market

    1st 50 2nd 30 3rd 20 4th 10

    Woffinden 22 - 25

    Pedersen 16 - 19

    Hancock 11 - 14

    NKI 6 - 8

    Zagar 6 - 8

    Kildemand 6 - 8

    Janowski 6 - 8

    Jonsson 5 - 7

    Doyle 4 - 6

    Kasprzak 3 - 5

    Holder 3 - 5

    MJJ 2 - 4

    Harris 1 - 3

    Batchelor 1 - 3

    Cook 0.5 - 2

just an explanation of spread betting-one bets more than the bigger figure or less than the smaller figure

Eg if you really fancy hancock to finish on the rostrum you would bet the higher figure(14)

    the bet is £ per point so £5 per point bet would mean if Greg won and collected 50-14=36 x £5 winnings=£180 2nd 30-14=16 x £5=£80 and 3rd 20-14=6x£5=£30

If he finishes 4th you would lose 14-10=4 x£5= £20

if he doesn`t make the final you lose 14x£5 =£70

If you thought Hancock won`t make the final you would bet the lower less figure and win 11x £5=£55

spread betting can seriously damage your wealth-not for the faint hearted !!!

Just to clarify as there seems to be a bit of confusion after the original post.

A £5 per point spread buy on Greg @ 14 would return (max risk £70)....

    1st +£180

    2nd +£80

    3rd +£30

    4th -£20

    Anything else -£70

The equivalent fixed odds bet (max risk £70) £35 each way would return....

    1st +£306.25

    2nd +£26.25

    3rd +£26.25

    4th -£70

    Anything else -£70

I'm sure this has already been touched on many times but 7 Guests!!

Nobody in the industry can be overjoyed at this conclusion to the season?

Surely squads MUST be the way to go. With maybe 1 Guest max in extreme circumstances?

As a neutral, the final is just a non event. What has it got to do with the rest of the season?

  11. But Speedway can be a fantastic sport to watch also.

But we cannot try and make matches more interesting/competitive by chopping and changing rules every season. For me, as a casual fan with no club of my own, the tactical double points rule has made matches farcical on occasions. It definitely HAS put me off Speedway.

What is needed is a competitive league with some sort of squad system. Then the fantastic racing will take care of itself without having to artificially make meetings closer. How this is achieved though is anyone's guess?
