Think it a bit harsh to lay all the blame on the I.o.W. We only found out about racing on Berwick on Thursday night. Whilst its very bad luck on David and his team of organisers, would the supporters of Berwick prefer to see a meeting with more guests than I.o.W. riders? Maybe the choice of date for Davids meeting could have been different? Knowing that Berwick would be in this end of season competition, and that it would take precedent of any individual meetings, maybe an earlier date would have been prudent? A fixed race night or 2 for the entire league is the only way that this sort of unfortunate occurance could be avoided, but we all know that wont happen. As for the semi-final itself, I can see nothing else but a very convincing I.o.W. win, maybe winning both legs. I reckon on a 20-25 point lead from the 1st leg, depending on Berwicks choice of guests, and with the Fryer in this time, and Richard Sweetman in great form, a narrow away victory might be on the cards as well? Looking forward to Tuesday, Saturday and beyond.
  2. Anybody got any more information on the Fryers injury? Or reason for not starting his remaining rides?
  3. Anybody know anything about the line up or idea behind this meeting? Maybe Crouch or Bryn could come on and say a few lines . . . . . . I thought I heard/read somewhere that the 3rd/4th play off had been scrapped, and that this had been added as some sort of benefit meeting for Johno, which seems to make much more sense that a play off to decide 2nd and 3rd losers! Hopefully all the Islanders lads will be there, including our last chance to marvel and Chris Holder! Maybe a few riders with a view towards next year, and a few of Chris' conference team mates? Weather looks good anyway!

Swindon is bloody easy to get to along the M4, apart from the poor family that had a tyre blow out on them, causing all 6 lanes to be shut for a time. Don't you also think that the crowd would've been far healthier if the crash hadn't happened? A conservative estimate would be about 10,000 people stuck on the motorway, and if 5% of them were fans, well you do the maths. Agree that perhaps things like this should be on their own leagues tracks though, to make sure of a healthy crowd, and if it was on some sort of rota between tracks in the league, then it might go some way to eliminate home bias' As it happened, sounds like a good job we missed the meeting, no noddy in the final, and more passing on a gridlocked motorway
  5. I cant wait to hear Bryn announce next years team if its got any of these in it :- Joni Keskinen Patrick Hougaard Tero Aarnio Jesper Christiansen
  6. Bit of a varied line-up there Crouch, but looking forward to seeing some fair and honest speedway for a change
  7. Fantastic performance from the Isle of Wight team, every member getting at least 1 heat victory, which is no mean feat when you only have a maximum of 5 rides, against some quality opposition. I was sat with the majority of the IoW fans just in front of the start line, and we had a group of Birmingham and Somerset fans behind us, who were both good value, I didnt hear any moaning/abuse from any of the other fans. The dust was a problem, have to agree that the tractor man shouldve been before the watering, not after, but ive seen worse. But the most upsetting part of the whole afternoon, which, having read through the 6 pages of this thread since the end of the meeting that I cannot believe anybody else has complained about, were the bloody THUNDERBUGS! Or Thunderflies, or whatever you wanted to call them, they were everywhere! I can still feel them crawling into my ear now . . . Well done the Isle of Wight, well done Peterborough, and see you all next year!
  8. Cheers Bryn, guess I will be seeing you in a month or so?
  9. I'd be happy with an Island 1-2 finish! Is there a semi final for positions 3-6, with the top 2 to join positions 1-2 in the final? Nope, just a run-off for the final final place.

    Aussie Titles

Well maybe not actually mine , more the Isle of Wight's, although I suppose I still have an interest in Doyley as well. Good to see Corey Gathercole score a few points, as well as Noddy winning a race.

    Aussie Titles

Any more results yet, or am I just being impatient now! Or can you post the link to the results page? Ive had a quick scan, but im at work, and its abit obvious searching on google for hours at a time!! Cheers for that, just wanted to see how our 2 Aussies are doing!

    World Under-21 Semi

Very well done Noddy!! Anybody know when are where the final is? If its in this country then I mite try and go along.
  13. Fantastic performance by Chris Holder, I cant wait until the IOW go up there, I might even make the Journey myself!
  14. Have just heard that in the Aussie U-21 chamionship, our new signing, Chris Holder has retained his title, with a near flawless performance, with Troy Bachelor 2nd, and another Islander, Jason Doyle 3rd. Apparently, in the first running of the final, Doyle was miles ahead, but there was a crash behind him, and it had to be re-run, presumably with the other rider in the final excluded, but details are abit hazy! So bad luck to Doyley, but well done to Chris, and I look forward to seeing both of them during the season, but hopefully coming 1st and 2nd instead!
