Kent V Rye Mon 7th Sept.

Too right. These newcomers would ruin the sport if they were allowed to make decisions!
  2. The paramedic was never getting Spiller from the airport. The rumour was that as Spiller was going to be too late for a 7.30 start the club used the paramedic as an excuse to delay the meeting. I stress that these are rumours but must be completely clear that it was an Eastbourne fan that made them known to me.
  3. To be absolutely clear, my original post is not against Dan Spiller nor is it sour grapes. Eastbourne are just about invincible at home and I've enjoyed many meetings there. Even if you take Spillers points away it's still defeat for Kent. We were poor and didn't deserve a result. Dan Spiller is a very good prospect for the future and may well represent GB in future world cups and GPs with my complete backing. My problem is that there is a suspicion of foul play which needs to be proven or disproven and the sooner that can happen the better.
  4. Bitter? Maybe but not because Kent lost. Its more about the damage to the reputation of the sport we all love and to a young riders confidence. Did you see Niall on the parade, he looked very unhappy. The medic may have been delayed but you must understand how it looks when so many other teams use tricks of this nature to gain any small advantage.
  5. I have to say I'm really disappointed with the way Eastbourne played this one. Strudwick was listed as No.6 but then Spillers Germany racing gets cancelled so he's rushed back to Arlington to strengthen the team. Problem is he won't get there until around 8. We're told over the tannoy that the meeting is delayed due to the paramedic being late. There's a large hint of unfair about this. Unfair to the paying public who have had to wait and massively unfair to Niall Strudwick who had a face like thunder on the parade lap of a meeting he wasn't going to ride in. If someone from Eastbourne management can show proof that this is all genuine I'll take this post down. Until then it's poor from a promotion that has done so much positive work for the sport.

Are you suggesting that the BSPA listen to the supporters? I think you're asking a bit much there.

I'll take anyone holding it other than Coventry. Meeting was a farce - it became more about survival than racing. We could have seen a very serious incident today and from where I was sitting it was nothing short of a miracle that we didn't. Hope James Shanes, Danny Ayres, David Mason, Jack Kingston and BWD are all ok. For balance, I don't want my comments about the track to take anything away from Birmingham. Well done chaps - Adam Ellis rode brilliantly to win the race off.

    Swc Race-off

Amazing from Woffinden and Lambert. Unusually poor from Harris and disappointing from King. It was always going to be the Poles going through - they were the better team.

James Shanes looks good. Riding well for Kent this season and going to get better.

Rye House V Kent 6th June

Problem for Danno is he is under pressure from a lot of different angles. Being local he will put pressure on himself to do well. He will know the history of Kent where riders will be put under pressure to perform immediately or be dropped. All this on one of the nicest lads in the sport. I feel some riders will go better if they are hassled and beaten up about their performances - others if they are happy, enjoying their racing and feel like they have the backing of everyone around them. I think Danno falls into the second category.

Rye House V Kent 6th June

Track time seems to be the most important thing these lads need. That and some confidence. Danno and Jamie especially - they're very tidy riders and with a bit more confidence I think they could push on and get plenty of points for the King's. Unfortunately there are too many people knocking them and criticising when they need help and positivity.
  12. It was indeed a poor night for Kent. Some bad luck, bad officials decisions and below par performances. The overall trend for Kent has been upward over the last few weeks so maybe this is just blip. There are positives - Aaron Baseby looks like he's hitting good form and James Shanes produced the best ride anyone has seen at CP. Ben Morley may just have used up his bad luck in one meeting and Danny Ayres won't keep hitting the same bend 2 bit of grip that kept throwing him offline. Onward and upward Kings.

Rye House Vs Kent 2/5/2015 Cgnl

Luke Chessell was coming out for heat 15. According to the announcer he was not allowed to be nominated as he was not one of the top 3 scoring riders. My understanding is that this rule does not apply in NL. Can anyone clear this up?
