presumably you are a Smiths fan; if so explains a lot -
Hope everything turns out well. With Steve Lawson there every week and doing the track young Mr Bewley will be nigh unbeatable around worky.

Edinburgh v Glasgow Scottish Cup 2nd leg 30 March 2018
SharpenRake replied to SharpenRake's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The reason you fail to see what he is 'whinging' about is because he isn't whinging. Feel free to look up the definition. He expressed his frustration and disappointment and with his circumstances - wife just had a baby etc etc, most sensible people would have no problem with him doing that. Its not as if he phoned up and say he was unwell; he didn't throw his dummy out of the pram; he didn't say that the Edinburgh promotion are an embarrassment and should be banned from promoting; he didn't say Nicki Pedersen knocked me off and its not fair. Ironically the only people whinging are those having a go at Harris -
Edinburgh v Glasgow Scottish Cup 2nd leg 30 March 2018

Jeez he didn't whine. He said he was disappointed and frustrated just like every Glasgow fan that travelled through. Like the fans that phoned the track and no one answered, like the fans that looked at Facebook and saw a post urging them to turn up, despite it apparently been raining for some time and the fans that turned up when it wasn't raining to be told it was of. So stop trying to divert attention away from the real issue here which is the shocking way the Edinburgh promotion treat fans -

There's only one plonker here and it's not Harris -

The forecast doesn't look too bad nothing wrong with some natural watering and with the excellent track staff everything should be fine -
Because of what you say and by listening again to Cami on the Sunday radio show and re reading the quotes from Glasgow and Stewart, I think it looks as if Stewart chucked it for some reason rather than being sacked. Know that Michael Max knows the ruls and is well known to most riders so assume that why hes been brought into a more prominent role. As I said before think the biggest loss will be not having someone on the BSPA management Committee.
-
Not just the timing terrible. I thought he was maybe standing down to concentrate on being a promoter and member of the BSPA management committee. For once it looked as if we might have some clout and with Stuart on the committee he might help drag speedway into the 21st century. Now not to be. Maybe he could be put in charge of the BSPA.

Glasgow v Edinburgh 23 March 2018 7.30pm, 1st leg Scottish Cup

First meeting of the Scottish season. Lots of questions to be answered on both sides. How will the newbies do, will edinburgh fans bother turning up, will the track hold out after the changes and more importantly will the winter weather result in a postponement. -

ok jenga your right. lets sell tickets for a match and don't give a toss if the riders or team managers are trying to win. they are just practising and larking about but we'll charge full prices. that approach will really bring the crowds in. remind me how are worky's crowds doing, -

Wrong. If you want to get up to speed then go and practise. This was a well promoted match between fierce local rivals for a trophy that has a long proud history. It attracted a big crowd and I'm sure armadale will as well. -

It wisnae a challenge it was the Scottish cup and I know if I was a monarchs fan I'd be wanting my manager to try everything to win or keep the score tight. By the way enjoyed last night. Considering the weather track not bad and looks nice and wide. Also looked like a good crowd despite the cold and the other attractions on in Glasgow last night. The score sets up the second leg quite nicely -

The suns come out and the forecast keeps getting better. So really looking forward to this. No doubt there will be criticism from Blobby and Co about the track being to wet, slick, rough, patchy, bumpy, wide but as long as they come along and 'enjoy' themselves who cares. c'mon the stripes! -

Well done to Mitchell davey. Hope you keep clear of injuries this year and get some reward for your perseverance -
That's a bit harsh. None of us know the reasons so we shouldn't jump to conclusions. In the meantime no doubt Ryan will step in for the match against the monarchs
-
Have to say I enjoyed Tigers Live last night; its amazing what a group of fans can do when supported by there promotion. Do other tracks do this, presumably Poole but any others.
-
According to the official site Stuart Dickson is targeting the 4's this year
-
Both Scottish promotions have come up with an interesting way to try and get big crowd for both legs of Scottish Cup. Glasgow fans can buy tickets for the Edinburgh leg from the Glasgow promotion and Glasgow get the money and vice versa. See this benefitting Glasgow as more Tigers fans likely to go to armadale than monarchs fans to Ashfield
-
Does anyone know if the free tickets for newbies is carrying on this year. Hopefully the plan agreed with the monarchs works
-
Just knew you would turnip
-
Or maybe Allen asked Glasgow if they could fit him in and they said thought you had done a deal with scunthorpe
-
Thank goodness for that
-
would have thought that at Ashfield at least, a wider track means it will become more difficult for riders to block faster riders
