  1. Have to agree, but a pity about the time it took to race the semi-final but it was good to see all 4 riders were giving there all and putting on a show for the fans. It was announced that both Morris and Lawson were on there spare bikes in the semi so well done for qualifying. Also well done to the DJ getting the crowd to sing along to some old classics whilst waiting for the riders and bikes to get put back together after the semi crashes.

    Peterborough V Glasgow 15/10/17

And I'm sure the track will be prepared exactly the same way as for tonight
  3. yes its funny that, sure I've read that cookie was a great team man and if so surely he would have thought about the travelling workie fans and his team mates who could earn a few quid this evening
  4. Surely the rules require 'unwell' riders to sit out the next few days? believe this was brought in to stop riders picking and choosing which matches they would attend. I'm sure this isn't the case with Cookie but you wouldn't want him infecting other riders and even fans if he is so unwell so it would seem sensible for him to miss this Monday's match as well, whatever it is.
  5. As I have said in another post part of the problem is the difference in riders ability and also money in our league. For example Chris Harris in the same league as Mitchell Davey (no offence to Mitchell he's a great lad but does not have the money or sponsors that others do). Look at the videos on the Tigers website with the most recent race between the Worrall twins showing what can be achieved. With this meeting having most of the best riders it should be good
  6. Are you sure you are sure cos if so please tell us who these riders are and why they haven't been invited. Where was this reported? Remember a football team uses the centre green and the previous promotion always said they couldn't reduce the size of the pitch.
  7. No idea why bates and bjerre aren't racing but presumably not available otherwise graversen wouldn't be riding. Accept summers wouldn't normally get a spot but sadly with all the injuries he is an obvious last minute replacement. Of course I am sure Workington fans would rather James Sargent had been picked 😉
  8. It depends whether you want good riders in the event or not eg graversen is the Sheffield rep so who would be there second rider. Despite criticism from some Glasgow fans Summers has been in the championship top 20 averages all year so has earned his place

Just hope belle vue and wolves don't decide to rerun tonight's rained off match on Sunday otherwise Glasgow will probably be told that Richard lawson will have to ride for Wolverhampton as he was guesting for them tonight 😋
  10. Spotted a potential typo. Did you mean leg end?
  11. I know l've been a bit sarcastic recently over the state of British speedway but well done to the Tigers and our honorary tiger James. Thanks also to jenga for his comments just what Sarj needed 😁
  12. As already said look at the Glasgow website to see overtaking and different lines. Glasgow is a very fast track so some races can be strung out when you have premier riders racing against national league type riders but when riders of similar ability are on track you tend to get close racing. Heard no complaints since the new terracing went in earlier this year and the view from the new 4th bend terracing is brilliant. Capacity not a problem what with Edinburgh fans all going to there dinner dance 🍞🍟💁
  13. Don't think any Glasgow fan wants us to go up but if we do it will be because as you say there might not be many teams left to form a decent championship. Classic case of 'top' division manipulating things for there benefit 😠
  14. Really 🤔 who would have thought it 😱 Have you not read any of the above posts 🙁
  15. Can't help thinking this is proof that our promotional team, despite being awfully nice blokes, have no clout where it matters. Looks as if we are also about to get shafted when it comes to next season. Rumours suggest a 12 team Premiership, racing only on Mondays and Thursdays - probably the existing 8 plus winner of promotion play-off which is likely to be Sheffield plus Lakeside (licence on ice). Have also read that based on geography if nothing else, Ipswich and Peterborough are likely to move up. That leaves Glasgow, Edinburgh (rumours of licence going on ice for a year), Berwick, Newcastle (threat of closure in this weeks Star), Redcar, Scunthorpe (well done for keeping on going despite poor crowds), Leicester, Workington (virtually certain to close) as being contenders for the Championship. So only 8 teams with possibly up to 2 closing or moving down to the NL. The only chance of NL teams moving up would be reducing the points limit/standard of racing and I can't see teams like Eastbourne wanting to travel up to Glasgow and Edinburgh. So whatever happens Glasgow and the other Championship teams will be sacrificed to ensure a few 'superstars' can ride in the UK. Can really see the Facennas chucking it and renting the stadium to anyone daft enough to try and run speedway in a professional manner.
  16. Only a few days until thus really important event and very few recent posts. Is anyone going apart from Sheffield fans?
  17. See the Glasgow Supporters Club have had to cancel their bus, then mini bus, to Newcastle due to lack of interest. If it had been held in may when it should have been raced Newcastle would have had 100s travelling down from Glasgow . As they say a lose lose situation

    Newcastle 2017

Well done just a month to late. We were meant to play the winners of diamonds comets on 6 may. Quite frankly Glasgow should have been given a bye. As it is all the other teams have been kept waiting and we are running key matches in poor weather and when all the kids are back at school total farce
  19. Congratulations to Sheffield. They finished top and thankfully won the play offs. With the loss of Josh things could have gone pear shaped which would have been a travesty and it's why I dislike using play offs to determine the league champions. Also well done to Simon Stead
