Ridiculous amounts of money banded around in football...trouble is it never filters down to those clubs finding it hard to survive in the lower leagues. Imagine if SKY ever pulled the plug?

...yes I got that wrong with my original post!

Interviews by Lee Ashby - David's Son
steve roberts replied to steve roberts's topic in Years Gone By
Just watched the interview. Erik comes across as a real Gentleman and very humble...I just wish that Lee would expand his questioning technique as there are opportunities to get deep into a particular subject...like Olsen's influence on the relationship between Erik and Hans. -
Think I misunderstood the question?

Coventry stadium revisited

It's a shame that they hadn't been more diligent when I initially signed up...if I recall you only need to enter an email and password (plus date of birth - which can be anything you wish?) to create an account? Don't recall having to forward further proof of evidence of identity (certainly not a passport or driving licence) but it was a long time ago now but I'm not going to pusue it as I can't be bothered! -

Absolutely...I closed my account five plus years ago and then re-activated it again to see if I was missing anything (?) and it was fine for a couple of weeks before I got a message to say that it had been locked. Personally it doesn't bother me not being on Facebook or any other social media (Twitter) account. I only do BSF. -

Apparently someone has tried to access my account or it has been used inappropriately! Following their guidelines I need to scan my passport and/or driving licence and/or marriage certificate(?) or any manner of documents to prove my identity so as to re-activate my account...bollocks to that! -

The buggers have locked me out of my account! -
My brother forwarded the story. Good news hopefully.

Interviews by Lee Ashby - David's Son

I did feel that Lee Asnby could have pushed him a bit further on some issues as John was quite happy to speak it as it was. -
I actually re-activated my Facebook account a couple of weeks ago and it was fine for about a week. I then found that it had been locked due to someone attempting to access it/improper use and to re-activate it they wished me scan in some form of identification like a pastport or driving licence. Bollocks to that...shame they hadn't been more deligent when I set the account up?

Speedway On The Chase, Kinda
steve roberts replied to martinmauger's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Yes he talked in some detail in a recent interview with Lee Ashby on that very subject. -
I would agree but that wasn't always necessarily the case as speedway in the seventies, when it enjoyed its last "Golden Era", and attracted fans second only to football (if reports were to be believed) rarely recieved the media attention it deserved due to the nature of the sport for whatever the reason.
-
...and receives massive media attention and always has done even during its hooligan ridden years. When speedway was going thru' its last "Golden Era" the media tended not to give it the due attention it deserved despite England ruling the world. The demise of "World of Sport" saw the beginning of the end in my view.

I've tried sourcing some examples but without luck so far. I'm generally targeting 'top heavy' teams who had three decent riders but suffered with a long tail!

Just listened to the Todd Wiltshire interview. Todd came across as very articulate but I knew that already having watched him at Oxford for many years...nice bloke! What was particularly interesting was his views on the one-off World Finals and the GP's. Also took in the Martin Dugard interview...seems that there are 'issues' with the Dugard family and Martin is no longer involved at Eastbourne or his family's Machine Tools business? -
Shame you didn't do the Wembley tour as it was quite comprehensive...the changing rooms, tunnel, Royal Box, TV Room etc etc. Glad that I did it and got to see some of the trophys and even the crossbar that was used during the 1966 World Cup and Geoff Hurst's "Did it cross the line" goal!
