Sounds like there will be no Iversen, reportedly concussed from a crash at the Danish Championships tonight.

To be honest, i don't think it will make much difference to outcome of the meeting.. Puk hasn't had a great start to the season. With RR everyone apart from Toby can take a ride, or maybe Scott, Brennen at No.2 ?

I'm not for a minute saying we should do it but would he fit for MPT and use the remaining points up?

We are on 38.58. We have 1.42 to play with. Klindt is 1.55 higher than MPT. So not yet. I'm not sure if i would do it myself this early, what with Klindts bad injury at the end of last season.

Klindt sacked by Oxford already. Seemed to finish the season at Lynn fairly well last year...

He started last year of badly as well. But as you say finished the season the season much better.

wow we had one meeting and others have had more and you guys are getting on the teams back already.

I know its early days( 2 meetings). For me, it's just that I'm so keen for this team to do well this season. There was a good crowd at the AFA on Thursday.  Winning teams attract better crowds, which we desperately need, after the dwindling crowds of the last few years. We only lost at Leicester by 5 points, with Toby and NKI scoring 5 points each. We where 4 points up at home to BV after 12 heats, and lost by 6. Toby 7, NKI 4, Patryk 2. I know the riders are trying their best, and might be a bit rusty, but we wasn't far off of getting something from those 2 meetings. It frustrated me, im sure Rob would feel the same. Lets get some more meetings under our belt, and see how we are doing.

At the moment it looks a bit like a clear top three with the other four battling for 4th.....injuries not withstanding it might be difficult for those 'bottom four' of which we are one to take many points off the three heavyweights but we shall see. Seeing g as four of those first five meetings are against BV & Sheffield (and the other match away from home) judging them after five might mean things are a bit skewed, as they might be had we predominantly faced Oxford, Brum and Leicester but in the other direction.

I think Rob Lyon will be less tolerant of poor form this year but at the same time I cant see changes being made too early either. Interesting that he has said recently that Ben Cook and Chris Harris were two that got away a bit over the winter, you wonder how different things might look had they been signed....I reckon we'd be more highly fancied.

Yep.. I see where your coming from Baggy. It has been a tough start, with the 2 home rain offs. I wont be to harsh:). It could give a  slightly false impression after the first 5 meetings. As long as we can keep it close away, we could pick up a few agg points in the returns. Harris and Lawson verbally agreed to ride here this season, early doors, only to change their minds. If my sums are correct, they would of just fitted for NKI and Tofty. Title winning side there imho. If only.....;)

It was a real shame we lost Leicester and Brum due to weather. Those two 'easier' matches would have sharpened us up before BV and Sheffield matches and may well have meant we would have beaten BV the other night

I agree. Lets hope some riders get dialled in ASAP. Toby, Paddy, MPT and NKI are falling short early doors.. I'm sure Toby will be fine, as will Paddy W. We need a 6 point average from MPT and 7 for NKI, over the season. As i said in an earlier post, i will judge them after 5 meetings. It don't seem long, but if you want to actually compete for top 4, it's a good chunk out of the league matches... With the teams so close, you need to be ruthless if you really want to compete

Some excellent racing tonight Tarasenko looks a good prospect. Thought they would have had 2 minutes silence for John Louis but he didn't even get a mention

He's 30 i think. But will up his average this season.

    I agree on that.

The problem is NKI and MPT though.

NKI is declining year on year and he's giving off Hans Andersen's final year vibes already after two poor performances in the easiest 1-5 race jacket.

MPT hasn't had a good run of form at Premiership level since Peterborough's Dad's Army Title Triumph so it could be a case of one bad injury too many.

Very early days yet. NKI scored 9 in the Peter Craven memorial meeting, which was a good start. But out of his 9 points in 2 league meetings so far, 5 points have come from HT8. As i said, very early days. But by the time our next home meeting comes around on the 22nd against Sheffield, we could well of lost our first 4 meetings (3 away, 1 home). Loosing the Sheffield meeting would be a disaster. It's a must win, as well as running our away meetings close. I'll look at the riders stats after the 5th meeting, before i get on any riders case though.

Looking forward to finally get our home meetings underway.

Rob Lyon said on this week’s Pride of the East podcast that a few of the boys had a spin yesterday, so hopefully we’ll be dialled in from the off.

Would be much more confident if we’d had those the Leicester and Birmingham meetings under our belt first, but still think we have enough.

    Stars to win 48-42 (hopefully)

Normally id  go for something like 50-40. But given MPT's spill and the lack of track time at home, i can see this one going either way tbh. I expect BV to be the sharper of the 2 teams early doors. Heats 13 and 15 could be tough for the Stars as well. Hoping Vadim and Toby are both on it tonight.

Can't make it, so will be watching the updates come in. Lovely evening for it. :t:

    Come on u Stars .......

If he is out we must try to get Nicholls short term before his tv work begins.

100%.. If we are serious of a play off place, we can't f00k about for a few quid.

If Lynn have a crap year with this team (not cheap), the fans will continue to dwindle.  End of King's Lynn maybe ? We know Buster wants out.. Profit might keep him interested..

No need for “tinted glasses “ at Ipswich. They actually make an effort to get meetings on. They uploaded photos from mid afternoon last year of the track literally under water, but worked their boll0cks off to get the meeting on by 7.30. Same last week, heavy showers on and off all day, if that had been Norfolk you could guarantee it would have been called, but not at Ipswich. The like of Bagpuss who seems to defend his club to the death need to call out his club for once. They’re currently a pathetically ran Speedway club who need a dry week and completely dry forecast on race day to let a meeting go ahead, seemingly because they can’t be @rsed doing any track work if any rain falls. Stop trying to defend the indefensible. If it’s not the weather it’s telling lies about broken pit gate locks because half your team is away on Danish duty. Pathetic club, Lynn fans should be embarrassed.

There has been an identical forecast in Ipswich as Norfolk for today. Early morning torrential rain flooded the roads, forecast is off and on showers for the rest of the day. Have Ipswich called it off? No. It may well get postponed if and when more rain falls, but you can guarantee that when it gets called there was zero chance of it going ahead. But that won’t prove Lynn correct and Ipswich wrong. Ipswich are simply prepared to do all it takes and work hard to get a meeting on, Lynn clearly can’t be bothered!!!

Sadly, we have been forced to postpone tonight's fixture against Leicester at Foxhall
Too much rain has fallen late this afternoon for the track to dry out
A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course …
    See more

That post was around 6pm  on the Ippo FB page. With  away fans probably on their way. Riders there ? I thought they would of tried until at least 7.30 to get the track rideable, if not raceable?

It is early but racking up L's against teams who aren't even fancied for the play-offs is a cause for concern imo.

Home form alone won't see teams into the play-offs this year because almost everyone will go unbeaten at Home.

My reply was just to this meeting, and the bet.

    Bad loss that bet.

Not sure what to make of the Tigers this year now tbh, More than alarming to be 10 points down after 4 Heats to a Brummies side that's built way under the limit.

I'm with you on that one as well . I keep telling myself, it's early days yet;)

Hoping so. 3 of us coming from Lynn tonight.

Looking forward to a good meeting. Difficult one to call with it being both teams first meeting. My gut feeling is Leicester will have too much for us, but hopefully we'll put on a decent performance and hit at least 40.

I predicted 49-41 to Leicester on the podcast so better stick with that.

Would be a great start if we could get something tonight. I do think you prediction is about right though. Enjoy your evening:t:

Why aren’t all the efforts being put in to finding new land and building a new track? Yes I know it isn’t cheap, but all the talk this time last year was how deep the Purple man’s pockets were! Didn’t Carl Johnson (soon after buggering off) say they had land identified? Literally all the comments STILL on here are aiming digs at Buster, while Tomalin, Johnson, and the other members of the “consortium” (who were given full permission by Buster btw to negotiate with AEPG themselves) have gotten a free pass?

Where is Ged Rathbone also by the way? Neil Watson has often told us that Buster didn’t in actual fact save Peterborough Speedway as Rathbone would have simply carried on if nobody came forward. Why isn’t he part of the consortium? Why isn’t he doing anything to help Peterborough’s plight now?

It has been said that Buster bought them to save the Prem, and the TV deal. Rathbone was going to continue in the Champ if no buyer came forward i believe.

There are a some Panthers fans that are starting to give MT a bit of stick on here lately, and rightly so imho..  I think some  still don't, hoping he might come good one day, and don't want to pee him off. As you mentioned Johnson" buggering of " ,  i wonder what the Panthers fans would of thought of him, if his actions would of caused Chapman to shut up shop mid season. Maybe a cynic might think he did it thinking that it would put Buster in trouble, and help  his mate MT get the club cheap/free, who knows?

Until the outcome is finally resolved concerning the LP policies,  it doesn't matter who is or isnt involved & the club will remain in its present state of limbo

No fool would invest a vast amount of money from there own pocket whatever there wealth  if theres a chance of funds having to be made available from elsewhere.

If the club does have a future the consortium will then go though and buy out Chapman and who knows have a future plot of land ready to go or even an emotional return to the showground .

No fool would promise what he did to the fans before engaging his brain first either , I’m afraid.
