Finding a decent No 1 needs to be a priority.

If we can’t keep Lambert, I wonder if Musielak might become free if Sheffield keep the Holder’s and Woffinden as their top 3.

He’s very good at Lynn and said on BSN how much he enjoys riding here.

I read on the forum yesterday that Tobi isn't at Sheffield next season. I don't know how true it is, but i'd take him if Robert wasn't available. His average is nearly a point higher than Lambo's, but he gives it his all, and as you say, we must have a No.1.

I would agree we choked at Glasgow we were awful in the first part of the meeting, Joe was unlucky but Ben Cook broke the tapes and then stupidly didn't make time allowance and Newman broke down on start line, a catalogue of errors then Worrall had to use second bike. If you met Shovvy you realise he is not a numpty, far from it in fact but he is a massive pessimist.

If we manage it tomorrow it will be a fantastic performance, we have given ourselves a mountain to climb.

Surely not that much of a pessimist though. Don't he fly about hanging under a big kite, with an engine strapped to his back, or something like that

Yes they did and it has given them a massive chance, most Poole fans would have been pleased with 8-10 but 14 is  a big lead when you have riders like Basso, Harris and Tarasenko plus Brennan who scored 9 last time.

Apparently the Ipswich troll tells us that if we don't beat Glasgow we will have choked, the tripe that comes from him is unbelievable. It is not impossible but requires everyone firing which clearly wasn't the case last night.

Well that's not as bad as Shuvvy's opening post comment ;)Can Pirates pull off Mission Impossible: Back From The Dead? :D.

I posted the Glasgow riders averages /points scored at your gaff this season on this page. I don't know if Tarasenko has graced your shale before though?

I know the previous points scored can't be relied on to much, and anything can happen, but i fully expect you to pull this back.I wouldn't go as far as to say you choked if you don't though.

Those statistics don’t look great, do they?

I don’t think you can underestimate momentum, though. Poole earned the right to Group A in the play-offs which was essentially a spa weekend. Meanwhile, Glasgow put a marker down against Oxford during the final league fixture, then again in the play-offs and I believe that showed last night.

Make no mistake about it, Glagsow rag-dolled Poole last night and even in a more tame second half of the meeting, Chris Harris set the tone by playing with Lawson, Worrall and Ben Cook in front of the BSN cameras before doing all three.

You can’t quantify momentum, but it’s definitely with Glasgow because Poole’s top boys were made to look a bit silly last night.

Judging by the reports from last night, you do have the momentum, no doubt. Poole will be wounded from last night though, and i just think you will see a different Poole tonight. It will be close, but i think you needed another 4 points myself. Has Vad rode their track before?

I will be rooting for your lot though;)

Hopefully this goes ahead on Wednesday as I’m getting my nails done on Thursday night.

Who knows what will happen? Based on previous encounters at Wimborne Road, I think it would be wise to assume Glasgow will have zero reliance on Complin or Pijper, so it’s all on Harris, Basso, Tarasenko and Brennan to acquire at least 39 points between them.

When was the last time a team won the league with a 16 year-old in the side from the start of the season? I know he’s 17 now, but Pijper seeing-out the full season is an incredible achievement, especially if they win the league. A bit of research has shown that a certain Tai Woffinden did it in 2007 with Rye House.

Based on previous visits this season, it looks like a Poole win over the 2 legs to me.

    Harris 19 p from 11 rides ... 6.90

    Tom  13 p from 9 rides ... 5.77

    Basso  7p from 5 rides ... 5.60

    Lee  0p  from 10 rides ... 0.00

    Ace  6p from 9 rides ... 2.66

I do expect more from Bomber, but i can't see the addition of Vad being enough.I do hope i'm wrong though :)

    From the article..

"It’s a major boost to a local consortium, who we can now reveal, are in deep negotiations with current owner Keith Chapman to buy the club."

"Sport England’s intervention has breathed fresh impetus into the consortium who are desperate to buy the speedway rights from Chapman"

Surely both parties can sort a deal out between themselves.. There can't be much value in it. Air fence, flood lights and any machinery that Buster has brought in .Or is it just the name they want ? Someone on here has posted that the floodlights might be off to Workington ?

Tbf what does anyone expect it is Rob Lambert and Tai we are doing about. They have never been nice have they? Hopefully they be kept out of British Speedway for the rest of their career, won't hold my breath though.

Do you mean Phil Morris? Nick is serving a ban of his own!

Blimey Lisa . What about Chris Holder then:). Did much worse when he was at Lynn, than  Lambo's comments about the ref/Ippo track...  Oh and  Mr Holder said "You cant race on that" 2 weeks ago in an interview at Foxhall when asked about the track ;). Oh and Mr Ward wasn't snow white either if my memory serves me right ;)

Oh i saw these, and thought of you:P

Tai is a lot worse than Robert in my book.

Robert is a credit to sport and at this time GB'S BEST RIDER. He expressed rightly his views on track and referee decisions Tuesday which were poor to say the least.

Agree. He was asked and gave an honest opinion at the time. C. Holder said about Ippos track, 2 weeks before "You can't race on that" Both don't compare with TW's foul mouthed comment over the PA imho:t:

The report (if true) of Lambo's family members hitting out, and kicking, won't do him any favours though:blink:

Surprising that Smiling Sam's form seems to have dropped so much in both leagues in the last month or two.

    31/08      7.96

    02/10      7.14

    Not bad on a 7.14 ;)

I bet theres a few "wise men" out there tbh.

    R. Lawson

    28/08   7.38

    02/10   6.57

    More attractive on 6.57:)

That's the whole point of play-offs, the top 4 have an equal chance of being Champions.

I don't like play-offs & think top of the league should be Champions. But it's what the clubs voted for, so 1st & 2nd can have no complaints.

The top 4, from 7. Should be the title toppers go to the final, and 2nd and 3rd fight it out over 2 legs to join them, imho
