  1. purely going on riss recent performances at poole he seemed a rider a long way off full confidence,he was looking behind at least 6 or more times in every race,at his best a fair signing but jmo a real risk.I do think its essential both for the league and plymouth speedway that they have a competitive team this season and to that end would support the promoters easing the rules if necessary to make that possible

Planning permission is not dependent on ownership.

He could get planning permission (in theory), but couldn't then implement it without acquiring some form of ownership.

thats correct arnieg re planning applications, tho he wouldnt have to "aquire some form of ownership"would just need to "aquire"  an arrangement or agreement with the freeholder and a developer(who would provide funds) No risk no work for osborne!!

He doesn't say why it would not work for Poole. I am sure the fans would turn up whatever day we were racing.

Have to agree, obviously it's matt ford's decision and he can do as he wishes, cant believe poole fans are so fickle that they wouldn't turn out on a mon or thurs especially considering the quality riders in the prem compared to what some would call average fare in division two.if he did ever take over at  coventry you can be certain it would be top flight only!!

When was the last season that Poole haven’t hosted a testimonial ? Apart from the Covid year

The stock reply to that jason is its because every rider wants to hold their testimonial at Poole haha

  5. Appreciate fb reservations but really looking forward to watching two young brits at the beginning of their professional careers, going to be some exciting racing tho obviously they will have some bad meetings. Re the final signing don't think we should be expecting a potential superstar after all he's coming in as a second string in a weak British second division, a final average of 4.5 or more would be excellent imo

I think you vastly overestimate the level of resistance and the difference it would actually make. Very sadly for speedway there is very little chance that it'll be stopped. The sporting use covenant will be covered by some multi-use 3g pitch and that'll be that.

It's an awful realisation that your club's existence is very likely coming to an end, but it's happening more and more each passing year. I feel for Poole's fans.

probably right roger, also poole speedway had a great relationship with various poole mayors and councillors thro the years, due in no small part to the tremendous work done by matt ford to develop this, however youve now got to chuck in all the bournemouth and christchurch councillors and your dealing with a different animal and certainly cant imagine many of them supporting motorbike racing !

Maybe Osborne should look at taking over the Ringwood (Matchams) Raceway and turning that into a full Motorsports venue?

No chance there but purely as a back up I would look at the ringwood cheetahs banger racing site, weekly meetings there thro summer, also is there still banger racing venue on the Wareham/weymouth road??

  8. Quite right Skidder why would the council  re let it,no logic in that at all.shovler keeps going on "he's only a leaseholder "But if the freeholder, the council and the leaseholder, Osborne, agree a common path and a deal which is to their joint financial benefit then that's it , matt ford would not be Involved

Clarke Osborne has registered Poole Motorsports Ltd at Companies House. Bit worrying.

That's a weird one nick, what's he up to? I  have heard from acouple of people (totally unsubstantiated)that Osborne has already done a deal to surrender his stadium lease back to the council oct 24,in return for involvement in future development of the site, first thoughts were that's ok,however it also appears the council dont want to operate a stadium so it has to be returned with vacant possession, So he kicks out the speedway then ala Swindon says he's got a company looking for a motorsport site cos he's a closet petrol head. Am hoping it's bollocks but unfortunately parts of this do add up
