I cant remember Iris if Tommy even won the Laurels ? i do think the Marlboro Southern Championship could of been his last meeting.I remember him facing Ashby in the Helmet and Jansson winning the decider at Cradley.I often think could he of became world champion from 76/84 certainly yes also three of them would of been at Gothenberg.

I am a big fan of Auty but i have to say S.Worrall, Garrity are the top BRITS at there level at the moment.

Yes counted Steve i only see Jansson ride six times,To think he could of been a mega player in speedway until the late eighties we were robbed as fans.

Oxford v Newcastle 1983 Rod Hunter/Joe Owen both scored 20 out of a total of 49 Dave Younghusband was the team manager Oxford then were woefully weak.

Also both will be up against the likes of Ayres, Shanes, Grondal,Wajknecht so these reserve clashes should be vital.

I think King would of been a great signing but he would of missed quite a few meetings.Fricke Cook Worrall Sedgman Bjerre Bewley Smith a nice looking team exciting as well.When i look at this side then you look at Swindon's I fear for Swindon.

I would say that Justin did quite well away from home, at home not so good but i will say the Swindon track has not been good for quite a while in my opinion.I am a fan of Justin and i wish him well i hope he has a great season for the Aces the ability is there.

Believe me Sedgman is not mediocre if he clicks he is decent is he as good as J.Holder/Kurtz certainly if he puts his best foot forward.

Yes i can remember that over a period Eastbourne had some terrible travelling teams. ie) Slabon, Ring, Klinberg,Hammarburg, Richetto, Johansson,Columbo that class of import.

Falcace can you remember when PC and Mort got a hatfull at the Abbey ?i think it was 1980?.I am sure they had R/R for Derek Richardsson Maxfield rode as well.

Went to Edinburgh and there was something layed on for Weymouth in a inter tournament we had the day out and later watched the speedway.Biggest crowds come to mind we're the two tests in 72/73 New Zealand v Sweden the Ashby/Kilby testimonials were big crowds to,Keener for his meeting was unlucky the weather was horrendous.Also when Jansson rode Ashby for the helmet and Crumpie v Penhall and Lee were big crowds the Helmet was so prestige then.I wish we had it now the champion against the away top scorer.

No i first went with my uncle he loved speedway and Briggo but i did not go to that GB v Sweden meeting.I can remember the New Zealand v Sweden test meeting packed one in 72 Briggo injured and one 73 Briggo rode he scored 8 great days.Beefy you know more about the size of crowds than me England v USA at Swindon for a few years was jam packed solid massive crowds.

From 1968/69 i always watched from the fourth bend mainly because i got Autographs before the meeting.At that time there used to be a cheap/Dear side i very rarely watched it from the starting gate as the gate that separated the two sides opened at about race 9.
