  1. Not sure they are unheard of, anyone who watches polish extraliga will know about them, smektala has looked average for the last few seasons until looking much better this year, Woryna has looked much better this season too but wasnt great at coventry last season and Drabik on his day and the right track is ok, but no better than the Aussie trio of Fricke, Kurtz and Holder in my opinion

Drabik looked decidedly average in last week's Polish under 21 championship, where he should have dominated like he did yesterday

I remember Pawel Przedpelski was going to be the one, then last year it was Krystian Piezczek but in reality once they are to old for the reserve places they often lose there places in the dog eat dog world of Polish Speedway

I think a lot of people think they are better than what they actually are just because they are Polish, but for every Zmarslik or Dudek, there is a Daniel Pytel,Kamil adamczewski, Pawel hlib or Karol zabik

None of them will be as good as Zmarslik but it's only my opinions, they could all make me eat my words

I think Drabik will be a GP rider one day Smektala also has improved this season and he has a bright future.

  2. This Bewley talk reminds me of just 2-3 years ago with regards to Robert Lambert.

I don't think he's all that's cracked up to be to be perfectly honest

Who Bewley ? i have been very impressed with him his gating is hit or miss but he rides like a rider alot older and more experienced.Minimum he will be a very good domestic rider but i think he will go higher than that also he seems very level headed with a good temperment the best young rider we have coming through.

  3. The same with all clubs.

It could also be the case that people now dont think the entertainment on offer is worth 17 quid.

    We're not in the 70/80's.

You may as well say Preston North End are the biggest football club with this argument.

What you should say is 'were' not 'are', especially with relation to Coventry and Cradley.

Any sport success comes around in cycles success has to be gaged on the past in my book so yes Preston are still a big club history tells you that.Poole were the benchmark to aim at in recent years for everyone but now they will have to go and reinvent themselves be interesting to see if Ford can.

  4. Im really looking forward to tonight! should be a close meeting! with porsing and auty at reserve could make all the difference! i was impressed with him last week, takes responsibility what is something i love!! if he rides like that every week and his average fits next season then why not!!!! Thomas H spoke really well on the mic too said all the right things at least!

Im digging this team! time will tell! No trophies but its a team i feel i can relate too!

A really decent reserve partnership both looking to be real in/out top five riders Jorgensen i was really impressed by him at Swindon last week he always has done to be fair. What i like about him is he is not scared of reputations and mixes it well has the ability to be an in/out Championship no 1 tonight should be good with Allen at reserve the reserves are the key tonight.

  5. No, because it wasn't actually against the rules.

Are you sure ?? it is like going out and spending 50 quid on a steak but getting a burger instead a total rip off Bewley the only good thing and if BT see this sort of thing happening they will be off like a longdog.

  6. He was right to do what he did and it's very likely that Peterborough will be disciplined in some way (and deservedly so).

Will King's Lynn be disciplined for the disgraceful side they put out at Leicester ( ie;) cheating the public.

  7. I don't know gustix, like I say it's just the kernel of an idea. So something like a Polish and British club sign 14 riders between them, there could be an overlap and when the Poles want to use Jacob Thorsell for example on UK race night they send over one of their assets to replace him, maybe a young Pole looking for experience or a rider struggling for form. They're going to get Thorsell anyway, this way out saves him getting a 28 day ban, the fans get to see a full team and a new rider who in the standard of our league may excelIris123 I only mentioned football as I know they operate feeder clubs. Where speedway differs from football is that players only play in one league unlike in speedway, so yes to do exactly the same is as you say ridiculous... But I'm not suggesting speedway does the same... I also find your tone a bit aggressive

That idea sounds a very good one "iain" they are going to get Thorssell anyway so why not send a pole over to replace him.Someone who maybe needs more meeting's or who might need some more experience i am sure that there are loads of youngsters who would be up for that.Cant see it ever happening though with what happened at Leicester the other night it has got to the stage where i have nearly given up.

  8. Not really an indication of Wolves financial position. Give it a year or two when Musielak is an established Ekstraliga heat leader and has a Swedish deal and he won't want to / won't be allowed to ride here, so the Robins will have an unusable asset.

I dont think so i believe Britain is the right move for him for his developement as a rider.Surprisingly Wolves never had the vision of having him in the team on a 4.57 average a real steal also giving one of there rivals a real leg up.

The league is watered down we all know that

But the sheer jealously from the Poole duo is amazing. Fools that are clueless but still we get a laugh out of them

Then the other one Gater1 who has had another name change to speedway fanatic pops up as well.....what a sad bunch in Dorset.

Basically Poole have imploded this season. Were hot favourites only to mess it up somehow. Middlo should take a look at the way Rosco does things!

Poole had a number one who they said loved Poole, only rides well for Poole and will rack up the big scores.

    A solid second heat leader

2 young Aussie stars ( who to be fair have done great)

Solid loyal Kyle Newman who they bombed out for a rider of the same ability

The best reserve in the league by a mile

    Good 2 pointer in Shanes

Thats the best part of the season that the Poole team has been so so dire

I hope Swindon go on to win it been the best team

My take on it is make the most of it well it lasts Swindon doing well is great but we all have to be realistic . For me over the last few years Ford has lost his touch his judgement on certain riders very questionable i believe Poole are slipping behind.

  9. This Swindon team is mediocre in the extreme.

Its just that other teams are even worse.

Mediocre with Doyle, Musielak, Morris as a solid heat leader trio and Bellego Ellis as superb back up with BWD who can pop up and surprise and win a race or two.Musielak is the difference and it just shows Wolves must be struggling financially to sell him to us was a suicidal move longterm in my book.

  10. Not convinced the GP series is the main issue. I'd say the Polish and Swedish leagues are the main problem, without them the top riders would all still be riding in GB and the only impact of GPs would have been to remove a number of Saturday nights from the British calendar.

If British speedway was presented like the gps and of the same quality a lot of issues would also disappear.

My gripe is why does British speedway not get some sort of compensation from the series? it does affect our speedway programme. Also most of the series is decent it should be it is the cream of our sport and yes the series does put our sport across well in a good light. But overall has the sport really benefitted from the series or just individual people i think the latter.

  11. If anyone was to start out again and make a go of it Bristol would be top of my list god it would be hard but i believe there would be hope.Bristol and Odsal have been bandied about over the years but Odsal i believe would struggle with there crowds i dont believe they would be viable Bristol could be alot though would be decided on where the site was.

  12. These days, dependent on what league. Top tier speedway about 800-1,000. At National League level around 400 probably.

Bristol is a massive city "gustix i think they have loads of potential there also with some Oxford,,Swindon,Reading fans going there the potential there is more than you think we shall see.😀

  13. 2 meetings with 2 guests & 000000 to show for it.

Was saying to Hagonshocker tonight Zach missing could cost us in the play/offs over two legs hope not but at the Abbey certainly. Zach will be hard to replace and by saying that just tells you how important he has been to the team Zach,Fricke both got injured both had geniune injuries. Why cant both clubs get a replacement ? a disgrace to be honest and Belle Vue losing Max will suffer more than the Robins which also is unfair on all aces fans.

  14. A really hard fought home win fair play to the Lions they really made things difficult tonight Nicholls again was great value.Riss was a mixed bag tonight but Riss,Jorgensen (impressive in front),Bates were in the mix tried there utmost and Tungate had one heat win.For Swindon Bomber was excellent give everything Bellego,Musielak,Morris did more than there job the racing was ok tonight ten on the bounce not bad eh!!!! annoying no speedway next Thursday.

  15. I can see why Belle Vue fans feel harshly treated.

Wolves legitimately replaced Joonas with Tai with at least 6 matches to go so totally within the rules although obvious why people seemed upset.

Poole then bring in a GP star SOLELY for the play offs...after the cut off dates for a 'season ending' injury..typical Poole stunt that wonderfully backfired.

Yet Belle Vue can now do nothing to replace Fricke.

Why can Poole bend the rules after last seasons cut off date, yet Belle Vue have a genuine injury and cant replace him?

Why is the rule there in the first place ? a genuine injury replace him again the supporters are the one's who suffers more guests and R/R they need to rip up that pathetic rulebook up and start again.

  16. Hi Sidney, you OK?? Pleased to see your team doing well...... No one is in any doubt about the strength of Swindon, and yes I thought the Stars did well to stay in contention that long. 2 quick fire 5-1's puts a false impression of the scores, and make people think it was easy. But it was far from that.. Probably against a lesser side we might have scraped a point,......

[/quote GR hope you are good this Swindon side has surprised me to be honest Musielak a massive plus but along way to go also winning or losing does not bother me that much as long as i have a good night out.The Stars last night it was encouraging to be honest, they need to win on Monday night though to ease the pressure Huckenbeck is the key for me.He has real ability and a reserve partnership of Auty/Porsing need to look to score 12 or more between them at home to ensure a home win.

  17. I see holder and Batchelors replacement's did well

This Swindon side even without Zach will be hard to beat over two legs i thought the home side with a unfit Lambert did well to hold them as long as they did.Monday i believe the home side will beat Somerset and try to push on from there a set of riders who put 100 per cent in is all any of us as fans can ask.
