Could the new mini Somerset if built in my lifetime ?😅 be better than that rubbish dished up last night makes me wonder. The Abbey since that work on bend 2 was done has never been as good in my opinion. They would have to try seriously hard to be worse than last night Mark!!!

Still getting over how poor that meeting was last night. The worst i can remember for years, for me the result is not relevant i go for the racing but apart from Doyle v Puk in heat 13 the rest was very poor.Could i put up with that everyweek i dont think so bend Two now looks like a accident waiting to happen.Bend three/four looked like there was a few holes there Huckenbeck in his first ride was quite comfortable in second then he hit something he then lifted violently was totally out of control through no fault of his own.Just hope the Poole meeting is a better advert for the sport last night was a night to forget.

A very good rider excellent riding style a mirror of Adams. Can see him getting in GPS in the next few years also seems to have a great temperament.

But he has a real real point have a rethink.!Suddenly you've gone from being a decent poster to a very bitter sounding poster.. Must be a reason..

To make a post like this shows what you have said on another thread total crap when i see you post ever again F... ou !On a world championship level I am surprised that certain riders didn't do more.
Chris Morton
Lance King
Tommy Knudsen
Henka Gustafsson
Phil Crump
Jan Andersson
Zenon Plech
Mikael Karlsson
The Moran brothers are a few in my opinion.

You are so right no one reacted to Batch really did they ? saying that he rode ok.Niels / Doyley pocket money for them but god this league has problems some races a massive difference in ability. As a example a rider years ago a rider who rode at number 6 away he had the reserve race a heat six and a heat nine if he was lucky.Ok he might score 0 but tonight there was nearly two different races going on a shame really but i will stress again the track looked crap. The track looked very poor with (as ex Robin Barry Duke implied on the mike) from patches as bald as Ronnie's head to odd areas of grip.
Huge differential between Jason Doyle and NKI and the rest in quality, very strung out heats.
Still no sign of a new stadium starting and zero news on it, just a bumpier, dirtier car park
Crowd figure? Around 1000 and little atmosphere even with Bratch was introduced.
Not a good night out.

This meeting was poor i might be over critical but the track looked s...e to me.Niels looked good, chuffed for Sedgy but the track looked crap not a great nights racing. Also now some of these lower riders some draft riders are getting dropped by big distances between first and fourth strung out like the washing.

A home win i think, but it could be a dangerous match for the Robins.Puk, Batch,Lambert, Mads, can all score points around the Abbey Wilkinson will race for everything a proper racer. Huckenbeck looks a decent rider and Lewis could chip in to with vital points important races with Nielsen in two heats looking forward to it.

Going through all the records riders i would put around the same ability(era). King( has reached 10 finals incl this year,Barker 8 finals, Bridger 6 finals, Garrity 4 finals Auty 4 finals Newman has ridden in 1 as a reserve.

Joe you are on the wind up right ? hope so if not i would not mind a bit of what you are on.I would rather have seen the best 16 British riders in the country and that includes Woffinde and Newman. Imo even Charles Wright is a better rider who has done more to deserve a spot than Josh Bates.

Not at Poole its not😀I eent my my grandad to Swindon v (i think it was Oxford in 1973)
I remember him watching and saying what a load of rubbish as first out of the start wins the race. He was not impressed and couldnt understand why anyone would bother to watch it.
The racing is just as good now as it was back in the day. IMO

Most of the time that you speak, get off your perch high horse listen and DEBATE saying that you have not got the humane touch for that sorry.😂Example please...

Colin the 1975 final with the AshbyWilson run off in it well what a line up that was eh! saying that i enjoy watching nearly all the lads who qualified for this years BF.the answer to the thread......1976 british final line up? ....2016 british final line up? ....40 yrs on, what a drop in standard!

Like yourself😀😀It's little wonder promoters pay little heed to fans when they come out with such nonsense.

At Swindon i believe if the meeting is called off after a certain time they have to still pay rent ? I don't know what most people think but i am not interested in wet meetings i would rather have a early decision.Different if you have started the meeting then by all means make do and i have seen some really good meetings in the wet.

I havent the time to look back on posts, but for the life of me i can never ever remember Witcher backing down and maybe saying you know what you might have a point. You eaces1 are one of the decent ones we don't always agree but your style is not to make people feel inferior which is very important in my eyes.I was one of those who PMed you to say you'd be missed from the forum - although I generally disagree with your POV, one of the good things about this forum is seeing different perspectives. However, since you've come back you seem to have posted very little in the way of constructive opinion, and instead seem to be getting involved in petty bickering.
Have to disagree Sid. People seem to be arguing that Orion and BWitcher are a little "clique", but fact is they often disagree with each other. It's quite possible to have a reasonable debate with them, but if you present an opinion that isn't supported by facts, they will call you on it. They may occasionally have slightly confrontational debating styles (though yet to see them call anyone out for a fight at Blunsdon ), but both will admit if they are proven wrong in my experience.

Tantrum i have read every post not one Tantrum in there for me maybe frustration and that i can well understand. If their view had any credibility there wouldn't be the issue in the first place.
You see a sensible poster, if they get something wrong and it is corrected accepts that and they are happy to learn. I've been corrected on many things.
Others start screaming about opinions.
The problem falls with Group two and then those who pander to them.
Now please can we get back on topic after Gresham has had his latest abuse riddled tantrum.

You are right Steve he has real ability off the subject i know is Niels available for the trip to the Abbey?thing is, Troy is Troy, you know what you're getting with him whoever he rides for.
we knew at Kings Lynn 10 years ago what he was like, kicking his bike when it packed up etc, but he has a side to him that can be brilliant on track, and hopefully Rob Lyon can coax that out of him on a regular basis.
Troy can be a world beater around the Adrian Flux Arena, and with his most staunch supporters sponsoring the club I really think he'll do well once he gets back into things

That was just an example Yesteryear maybe if you humoured people a bit it might help make them feel that there view might be valid and had some credibility.Wrong again Sidney , this is where you always fall down.. unable to comprehend what is being said.
I COMPLETELY agree with you that speedway was better in the past, I've never ever denied that.
All I have ever said is that the racing wasn't much, if any better, in the old days, which can be proven with all the footage available.
It's certain posters inability to read and comprehend that causes the problems.
-
Are you seriously saying he would be one of the favourites? have i missed something.I'm sorry sir but I am not agreeing with your posts.
Firstly, Kyle Newman was taking extra rides last year home and away and was riding against all members of the team and not just reserves and at tracks he barely knew. He averages 8.95 for the whole season.
He is now on a 9.20 average and the highest average for a British rider.
In my opinion, if fit those two averages alone should see him as one of the favourites to win let alone be in the final.
I am sorry but I fail to see the logic in this posting and in my opinion you are either biased or just don't rate Newman.
Did you watch the E.L speedway on Sky last year. Personally I don't understand it.
Facts speak louder than guessology.

"Aces i am of the same opinion as you.Orion's last few posts show exactly what sort of person he is. Best ignored.

I still go now enjoy it mostly, but i am glad i saw speedway in the same era as you a WC that was not a closed shop everybody had a dream not like series now as good as some of the racing is.quite right sid, gulf oil british league, easily best era for me, proper world championship with shock knock-outs along the way, seeing different riders in every world final, and every rider turning up having 5 rides to become world champion.....its all about opinions, and knowing what i saw and what i see, i prefer what i saw!! definately not the rubbish rider sharing!

Your opinions often are not FACT though are they? they are in your head you never have been able to grasp this.I say speedway was better in Yesteryear ( as a example) you say not who is right? none of us just an opinion opinions make the world go around. Not really.
When it's about opinions discussions can continue and be engaging as posters post the reasons behind their opinion and discuss accordingly.
Where the issues arise is when posters make statements that are factually incorrect... then when corrected and most importantly provided evidence of their error they act like children and refuse to accept it and start bleating about opinions before throwing all their toys out the pram and resorting to abuse. There is a significant difference.
You carry on my friend giving your opinion nowt wrong with that, there are some decent people on here who are good fun as Colin said if we can all learn a bit along the way gotta be good.Show me every thread where I've 'slagged off speedway'.
Go to the Somerset threads and see what I've posted on them.
I've not slagged speedway off at all. I may have raised questions as to how it could be improved or why certain things have changed.
I've not dismissed anyone....I may not agree with what they say... that's different.
As for concrete starting gates...how do you know people are more technically minded than me?
Having worked in groundworks and the construction industry in the past...as a Quantity Surveyor and Architectural Tec, I think I'm quiet qualified to have some degree of knowledge on how things can be constructed.
Having also ridden Speedway bikes, Moto X, Road bikes as well...I'd say i'd have a good understanding of how certain bikes work on certain surfaces as well.
It seems, like I've said on a previous thread, there are a small element on this forum, who like to tell people...instead of debating. And when I or others don't agree with them, they get in a huff and start attacking the person rather than the post. It seems they can't take it, when they get a reaction they don't like.
And don't talk bollox about threads only appearing since I've arrived. Loads of different people have started threads of similar ilk.
I think you'll find I am able to discuss...I just won't be told things are fact, when I disagree.
That's when the likes of Witch start trolling.
I don't want to talk to the idiot...and neither do others it seems...so the forum gives us an option to ignore...which I did, because he refused to 'agree to disagree'.
He knows I don't want to talk with him...yet he still trolls me and quotes me, as he does with others.
I think you'll find, it's the likes of him that are the problem...not me or others who wish to debate.
Threads are fine...until people start on at one another.
Maybe realise, that your little clique may have been on here a long time, but it doesn't mean you know everything there is to know about Speedway.
You don't know me, my involvement in the sport in the past or now.
You have no idea who I am...yet you choose to think you are some type of Lord of the forum.
It's the constant 'you said this, you said that'...that ruins this forum...and it's all down to a few trolls, who like to tell people, rather than debate.
