  1. Masters is a poor excuse for a No1, can't even win a heat on his home track. Too much loyalty shown to very average riders over the years, unfortunately. Bringing back Schlein this year was another example of that, too.
  2. Deserved win for Dad's Army but some rather strange refereeing decisions tonight, that's for sure.
  3. The Worralls are beyond useless if they don't make the gate, complete non-entities.
  4. Has the Start Marshall considered asking the Home riders to actually get up to the tapes?

    Panthers v Wolves - 2nd leg

First priority for Wolves should be to sort a strong reserve for next season, as Peterborough have shown, it's a big advantage to have.

Wolves vs pboro semi final 1

Masters just doesn't seem to have the toughness and grit required when it comes to close quarter racing around the bends, comes off second best all too often.

As if we didn't know already, Hans Anderson is a massive cheat.

Superb from Douglas and Becker tonight.

Some great racing tonight but an embarrassing lack of speed from Masters. Well off the pace.

Time to watch the Cricket I think, this has been absolutely rubbish.

Just me who is finding it a bit of a borefest so far? Seems like a gate and go.

    Wolves 2019

This season may well be done but we need to part ways with a number of riders in the Summer that haven't improved over recent years when you consider their current averages. Howarth, Thorssell, Masters and Ashley Morris to name a few. Get Freddie back regardless of the cost. People won't turn up to watch a crap team lose at home anyway. Time for the promotion to stop trying to do it on the cheap. Time to get rid of riders on averages of which they can't improve, rather have those on averages that they can actually improve.
  13. Agree with a lot of that. We've barely got any GP riders left anyway so why are we continuing to ride on two midweek nights like Mondays and Thursdays too? You'll only ever get increased attendances and attract new fans long term if you race on the weekend/end of the week, maybe Friday and Saturday nights - allows people to make a night of it. Football for example is a day out for many, Speedway can't be when it's on a Monday night and most people have work the next day. I guess the only problem is that clubs don't have access to their stadiums whenever they want if they don't own them - but maybe this could be renegotiated?

You're probably right there but Cook arguably could've been a solid no1 when you consider the standard of the league nowadays. Masters hasn't been great unfortunately, especially away. I thought he might make the spot his own this season but he hasn't really progressed at all. Bit disappointing really.
  15. Poor track really, hog the inside line and you win. Amazing how tracks like this get a GP but Belle Vue doesn't get one.

Didn't get a season ticket last season after having one for the previous 2 years but I will consider going to a large number of meetings next season if we field a decent team including a rider like Pawlicki. Forget the season ticket though. With a reduced number of meetings, it's pretty poor value for money. Rather pick and choose.

No better time to create the thread I think. First name on the teamsheet for me would be Greaves at no7 on a 2.5pt average. Obviously the other question will be if Freddie rides over here for another season. You would hope he will but both of his bad injuries this season have been sustained in the UK which has ultimately cost him a shot at a podium place in the GP series so I wonder if that will affect his thinking. Will Woffinden return on fixed race nights next year? Probably not but I'd like to see the club try to get him. Obviously a lot determined depending on what the points limit will be but I imagine Schlein won't be retained due to his improving average over the year. Howarth has come on leaps and bounds this year now making a solid no2. And Masters/Thorssell have been as reliable as ever but one may have to make way as both have good sized averages now. Will be interesting for sure.

Looks like I was right not to bother with a season ticket this season, what a ridiculous signing. Is that really the best they can come up with? The writing was on the wall when they let Freddie go I suppose. No temptation to fork out 20 quid to watch that 7 in action.......

Adams said a few weeks ago that they certainly aren't sitting around and twiddling their thumbs at the idea of making changes. Yet, nothing has changed. The team was never good enough from the start, it was clearly built to just win home meetings. The fact they are surprised that it's failed to win away all season really is a bit odd.

The sport is ran like an absolute farce in this country. Absolutely amateurish. The Premiership should be outsourced like they have with Team GB. Let somebody else run it, it can't get much worse.
  21. First time I've watched Wolves this season and wasn't very impressed. Morris isn't good enough at no2 and I don't think Heeps is good enough at all. Along with that, Thorssell isn't a no1. Probably a bit fortunate to win in all honesty when you consider Leicester's mechanical issues and self inflicted wounds (Bjerre comes to mind the most when on a 5-1). Excellent meetings for Masters and Greaves from a Wolves point of view. Track didn't seem to offer much but at least the racing was generally competitive.
  22. Lambert was a class above all night. Great to see Bewley finish 2nd too. An excellent event all round with some great racing.

Haha, it's basic business really, if the product gets worse then less people will buy it! And yes it is a shame, the decline seems steep too with no uplift in sight. I've not even been to a meeting this season.......been following the results on updates and on here of course and I do miss seeing some sort of racing live but the Premiership just seems to be a slightly better version of the Championship this season. I've enjoyed watching the Swedish Speedway on a Tuesday evening because almost every team has 4-5 really good riders as a minimum while in the UK it's like 1 or 2 maximum for each team and barely any of them are GP standard. I'll go to a few meetings in the coming months or so but nowhere near as many if the product on offer was the same level as say 2 seasons ago. Those last few home meeting of the season (including the playoffs) when we had a top 5 of Lindgren, PK, Woffinden, Thorssell and Masters was excellent viewing.
