I think you missed the joke Barry.

There wasn't a joke to miss.

It was resident troll "Gustix" being an idiot.   When everyone pointed out he was being his usual trolling self he deleted his posts (as he normally does), leaving the thread looking rather odd apart from the fact that he can't delete what others had already quoted.

This will be another case of blowing smoke up peoples ar*es because this group wont even get of the ground if its left to the BSPA to organise it.

But before the BSPA can organise to meet with the National Supporters Group, surely the fans have got to tell them who is in the group?

Clearly Teaboy279 has been nominated by the Kent fans to represent them.

I remember reading that the Belle Vue supporters club had nominated a representative (though I don't know a name), and I'm sure  there was one other supporters club where I read they had put forward a representative.  But that's about all.

I'd have thought every supporters club in the country would be chomping at the bit to elect someone into the national group, but it seems very few have done it.

Teaboy279 said there was a meeting planned, and he booked time off work to attend, but it had to be cancelled as the supporters at most clubs hadn't even bothered to nominate a representative

Perhaps we can compile a list on here of the clubs and the name of their elected spokesperson?

All seems to have gone rather quiet on this. I was first told 26th so I booked the night off before work. I then had a communication saying it would be end of February to allow other clubs to select their representative. But since then I have heard absolutely nothing.

Maybe it has already demonstrated what the promoters expected it to demonstrate?   That the fans are worse at organising a booze-up in a brewery than the promoters ever could be?

...and that is the problem, Smith doesn’t listen. I appreciate he is clueless about speedway and by all accounts not much idea about business but you’d have thought he would welcome customer feedback, listen and learn. I have emailed him before and he hasn’t had the decency to reply. He seems more interested in keeping ex-riders, volunteers and people with a long  association with the Aces out of BV.

As an ex-rider Lemon should have a word with him and sort it out but it’s obvious Leno is just Smiths ‘yes man’...with NO authority or influence.

Are you related to Starman or KKS?

  5. What is there to be offended about?

If you want to help your club, you can.    If you don't want to help, you don't have to.

If you've got some time to spare, you might be able to help.  If you haven't got spare time, no one is forcing you, or penalising you for not helping.

Lots of clubs, societies, sports teams, theatres, churches, schools, scouts etc etc rely on volunteer help.

Whether its helping paint the changing rooms of your local football team or speedway team, helping out at the kids' school sports day, donating costumes to the local theatre amateur dramatic society, making chutney for the church jamboree, or organising the Rotary Club annual dance, the world might be a better place if more people gave up a few hours of their time to get out and help an organisation close to their heart rather than sitting at home behind a keyboard moaning and being unnecessarily offended by everything.

The way you mis-read that original post is almost on Starman levels.  Astonishing.

    His typical behaviour.

He posts something incredibly stupid in an attempt at trolling.   Then when the trolling attempt fails massively, he makes up some other nonsense and edits a post pretending he had made a mistake.

He usually does it on threads he started, so that once he's made a fool of himself he can delete the thread.   But he didn't start this one, so all he can do is pretend his trolling was an error

    Very sad.

A not yet taken place conversation:

Enthusiast: I want to watch Birmingham Bulls. Where is their actual track?

    Supporter: They race at Stoke.

Enthusiast: A bit bewildering. How about Isle of Wight Wizards?

Supporter: In that case you need to visit Birmingham.

Enthusiast: I know there is a senior team at Plymouth. No problems involved there.

Supporter: Sorry, they are actually based at Eastbourne.

I don't understand the joke.    Why is "Supporter" lying to "Enthusiast" about where teams race?    Why is he sending him to Birmingham to watch IOW instead of telling him where the IOW track is?

Starting in the latter part of the 1950s speedway sometimes used an S too many, hence Bjorn Knutson became Knutsson in programmes and magazines, Mike Broadbank was Broadbanks and Chris Julian was Julians for a long time.

There's always been spelling mistakes in programmes, but this thread is about finding any 2 riders who had similar names which differed only by one letter.

It's a fairly common tactic to go bankrupt

It isn't.  It's very much a last resort.

If you're declared bankrupt your bank accouts are frozen, you can't get credit or take out loans.   You can't act as a director of a company and you can't even manage a company without telling everyone you deal with about your banruptcy.

A bankrupt is usually released after a year, but it still stays on records for 6 years, so even after a year, a bankrupt will still have problems getting a bank account, getting loans, credit, even taking out insurance.
