    Somerset 2018

No real surprise to see the Somerset promotion upsetting the fans again They portray themselves as friendly approachable people but that is the furthest thing from the truth. I hope more people like myself and my travelling friends walk away again just like we did last year after there unbelievable behavior

    Wolves V Somerset 8th May

A total professional performance by the Wolves riders, they out gated out smarted the Somerset riders in every heat. and I cannot believe that the 4 riders I watched every week for Somerset last season looked more like Bambi on ice, totally out of there comfort zone, and never on the pace. And like I said a couple of weeks ago after the reserves got lots of stick, although there has been a change to one of them obviously, but I thought young Greaves more than played his part and pleased for him. Rory has fitted in well and rides well with Jacob, top pairing, Great to catch up with some of my good friends from Somerset, and a real big thumbs up to them for flying the flags, and sticking there fingers up to the management Long may it continue guys, you know you've got my support. Such a shame though that some people really don't give a "hoot"

    Wolves V Somerset 8th May

Looking like a Wolves win as they have been very impressive at home the 4 meetings ive watched this season. feel sorry for the team I use to follow, but im sure Gary will get them going, and they will turn it around Hope some of my good friends from Somerset are travelling up as it will be good to have a catch up.

    Wolves V Belle Vue 18/4/17

Really enjoyed the meeting myself, thought there were some good racing on a well prepared track. It was tight all the way through, and could of gone either way at one point, but well deserved by Wolves come the end. I thought the Wolves reserves have improved, and giving it a go, and picked up some valuable points last night. Young Bewley is a real star in the making, and every time I see him I feel he has improved. Look forward to my next visit

    Somerset 2017

thank you for the history lessons and il pass on the test on friday due to it being to many years go that i took my 11+ so to keep up to date it looks like it has been poor PR by the club or should I say over sight if there does not seem to have been a statement by the club it does look like not to many people knew about it unless you were at the party for the club to tie it up to racism I think is totally wrong as I cant see any proof in that

excuse me but people pay there money so are entitled to there opinion the centre green guys are not for me but that just my opinion also I expect I was watching speedway long before you were out of shorts and for your information as I have mentioned it on another thread I never knew that the Confederate Flag had been banned and it seems neither did a lot of others so maybe you as you seem to know all what is going on would you be so kind to let us those fans which are on here as the club don't seem to nothing wrong in my eyes if the meeting has a slight delayed start if it runs through as smooth as this one did ive ended up running late myself a few times very true as I have asked the question myself because I hadn't heard anything about the decision on the flag and still cant find a statement on it from the club

    Somerset 2017

Been thinking about this all the way home, and hoping a few of you can enlighten me to whats going on. I dont live localy, but follow the Rebels for my sins, so probably not up to speed so to speak on matters in hand. But on arriving home i have gone back through the Somerset website, which i do, or maybe it should be I thought I had kept up to date on. But cant see that ive missed it, and talking to many regulars around me, they seemed to not know either. And there were 3 flags out on display tonight. By order of the management, take down the Confederate Flag. Its been banned. Whats that all about ??????? I cant say ive seen it on the website, I know I have 2 pairs of glasses but cant say ive seen it on there. But no doubt someone will put me right. Why has it been banned ??? By who has it been banned ??? When did this happen ??? No mention of it on the forum either. And I had to chuckle, or should I say scratch my head, as when stood in the bar, though and behold is a clock, proudly showing the Confederate flag. Now are you going to tell them or shall I. But is this a ploy for the fans to trot on down to the track shop to hopefully buy new shirts, coats and caps etc, to raise a few coppers, as the club are hoping we will throw our old ones away. If you think about it, its big business in the Premier football league, clubs changing there shirts every season, and fans having to buy new ones on a yearly basis. But I for one wont be. Thank you

Congratulations to the Kings Lynn boys, well deserved on that showing i thought. Both Chris and Robert rode well. Thought it might of been a cold ol night, but due to the 2 patio heaters in the centre green, I nearly at one point took my coat off, but disappointed that I couldn't get close enough to toast the marshmallows my dear wife brought with her. Thought the stadium would of been buzzing, but thought the atmosphere was a little quite, maybe us fans are still waking up after a long winter They are an absolute joke, at least 2 heats they announced the wrong 4 riders, which is a regular thing most weeks, no humour or passion, and clueless at how to work a crowd.

    What If....

Thank you very much. And I'm already looking forward to my visit. I'm hoping I might be able to fill the car, so we can have a pensioners night or two away to add to the fun. Keep up the good work, and I really hope, you continue to get the right results on and off the track.

    What If....

Fantastic to hear, and I wish you all great success. Just reading your post you can tell how much passion you have for the sport and your club. A big thumbs up from me I just wish there were more promoters like yourself out there. Il admit I haven't been to watch racing on the island for 5 years, due to mainly living 3 hours from Southampton but just by reading your post I will definitely be crossing the water this season, if only for a couple of odd meetings as it sounds like your doing as much as you can for the fans and you deserve the reward. Best of luck for the season

    What If....

Excellent post. And a pity they couldnt see the wood from the trees It makes me laugh. They call themselves "Promoters", but how often do you actually see these so called Promoters actually out and about promoting there club and the sport we love. Its always an appeal to the faithful fans to bring your work mates along friends and family, but there is very little or no advertising anywhere around the towns or villages in a 10-20 mile radius. In the summer there are banger racing meetings in the nearest town to me which is about 15 miles away, and there are always posters up everywhere in shops, pubs, and such like, and I made a few enquiries to ask if they had been given any free tickets as they were advertising the event, and all said no, they were just happy to help advertise something that might help bring people to the area. So you don't always have to give away free tickets to try and up your gates, just needs them to get out there and spread the word, and keep doing it. I'm dam sure if it was my business I would be out there 24/7, doing whatever I could to increase the exposure and my footfall, even if I did cost me a few free tickets
