I've not received them yet but I've got 2 for sale (due to 2 of our party not telling me they had got their own tickets!). They are standing tickets and cost £23 each. Will sell them both for £40. Please email me at rbecking@yahoo.com if your interested.

4 qualifying spaces, Nicholls has said he's not doing them (hoping he will get a wildcard if he doesn't finish in the top 8 this year). So at the moment it is Screen, Stead, Harris & Smith. Screen is not sure at the moment, if he doesn't do it I guess it will be handed to Leigh Lanham. -
Quite easy to get a train from central London to Reading station, probably take about 30 mins. Will probably be easiest to get a taxi then to the track, don't think it would cost that much. Have a look here for trains : http://www.thetrainline.com

Of course there is going to be no atmosphere, and not a big crowd when you look at the field. Apart from Mark Loram and Dean Barker who couldn't be arsed they were the best 14 riders Great Britian has. Of course the majority of the crowd were only supporting Stead and Screen so there isn't going to be much atmosphere. Gone have the days when one of about 10 riders could win the British Championship. Yes the dust was pretty bad after heat 10 but in 28 degrees in the shade ( but the track was in the sun) and breezy conditions it was always going to get dusty. If I remember right Oxford had a meeting dusted off last year? I marked down about 15 passes during the 21 heats, not great but fairly entertaining, I was at Eastbourne last night where there was ONE pass after heat 1 and that was from supposedly the best track guy in the country Bob Dugard. -

So there is still going to be permanent wild cards, thought they were getting rid of them and making it all on qualifying now. Going to be tough to qualify with only 3 spots up for grabs. -

Does anyone know what the qualifying system is for the GP's now. It was announced today but I didn't full understand it. From what I could make out, out of the top 4 today, 2 goto a qualifier in Slovenia and 2 to one in Hungary. The top 5 out of those two meetings go into the final at Vetlanda, Sweden. (But that would make only 10 riders?) The top 3 from Vetlanda then qualify for the GP series. But only 3? Do the top 12 from this years GP series stay in for next year then or is there going to be wildcards picked by BSI still? -

Simon Stead had his shoulder heavily strapped today, meetings the last two nights, haven't done it much good. -

Was an ok meeting, some decent races, few incidents. Was one of the hottest days of the year and quite breezy wasn't good for the track, there was no dust until heat 10, they were trying to damp it every 2 heats but it was practically just evaporating. -

Couldn't be arsed you mean, we knew he wasn't going to turn up before last nights Eastbourne meeting, he didn't even tell anyone at Belle Vue that he wasn't turning up. I think Floppy will be fine, just banged his leg I think. Hurry was taken by ambulence, off the track, looked a bit more serious. -
I did three bets, Crump, Hancock and Hampel, so had 3 out of 4 chances winning in the final. Obviously delighted Crump won but he won me the least amount of money.

El Pairs
Rob B replied to SteveEvans's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Obviously delighted with our win yesterday, third time lucky, we had to beat Swindon eventually! But wasn't happy about a few things : The format. With 6 teams in one group and 5 in the other I paid £20 and only got to see my team 4 times during the 25 heats of qualifying whilst others saw there's 5 times. In my opinion they should of just used the top 10 pairs averages, the bottom one missing out. Also no semi finals this year. Missing riders, before hand the only rider we knew would be missing was Barker, then suddenly Loram, Karlsson and Max are missing. I presume Loram missing was something to do with this form he didn't sign but where were Karlsson and Max? I bet they will be riding tonight. -
Practise it not open to the public at Cardiff. Even if anyone does look quick it doesn't mean a thing tomorrow.

I've done Hancock at 10/1 which is good.

Cardiff Ticket & Travel Info
Rob B replied to Noodles's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yep across the road from McDonalds, we had to pick them up from there last year. -
We always park on the side roads round the back of the stadium, just over the river, you have to buy a voucher from the local shop, £2 for all day, we get there about lunchtime. No problems parking and no problems getting out either.

Tix For Sweden Sf And Reading Final?
Rob B replied to Brightonbob's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Unless you want reserved seating tickets I wouldn't bother getting them in advance from Sweden, just get them when you get there. -
I'd say definatly, Stead, Nicholls, Richardson & Loram. Then choice between Norris, Harris & Screen depending on form closer to the time.

It was on speedwayworld.tv website and BSPA website last Thursday. -
Gaz you didn't quote the ones from before the GP series of Bjarne Pedersen being in the top 3 and Lindback being in the top 6.
-
Think this will be the last GP season for Lee Richardson unless he does the qualifiers. Simon Stead should be in there instead of him.
-
Another good night for Crump, saved the best till last with a great pass over Hancock. Puts him 6 points clearf Pedersen who I still think will miss quite a few finals this year. Rickardsson is about 23 points behind!
