But in hindsight they got it right as heats 11 and 12 were 9-3 in favour of Berwick whilst a 3-3 which you were hoping for in heat 11,would of only made it 8-4 to Berwick even with a 5-1 tac sub success if they had of used Bomber in heat 12

3 minutes ago, soupy said:Yes but who expected Berwick to get 5-1 in heat 12 as I would of put Harris in heat 12 on TR
But if Etheridge had of finished 2nd or 3rd in Heat 11 Berwick wouldn’t of been able to use a T/S

9 minutes ago, soupy said:A few strange decisions by both team managers in some of the heats and putting Wells in ts backfired.
Who would you of put in ? Harris was already in the race, Heat 12 Berwick got a 5-1, Heat 13 it was Harris and Wells programmed and Heat 14 Berwick were only 3 points down so couldn’t of used a T/S anyway

50 minutes ago, Falcon1983 said:Then you have an "allowance" of time for on track injuries which is incorporated into the overall running time to complete a meeting.
So would we have to have a new set of rules in the rule book
serious injury = unlimited time. Doctor looking at rider = 30 mins. Riders shaken = 10 minutes. Spectator in crowd falling ill = 40 minutes. AirFence deflation = 30 minutes. Innocent riders machinery repairs= 10 minutes.
The list could go on as how many meetings run over 2 hours if there is not an unforeseen incident

Fine clubs who cannot deliver a meeting within 120 minutes
And what if the rider has a serious back or neck injury after crashing and has to be attended to on track for 30/40 minutes?

For at least the last 10 years he has stood outside the season ticket turnstile gate .. so unless you sneak in under the fence I am surprised you have never seen him at home meetings

Is 300 kids running around for an extra £18 going to be worth it
Obviously I am joking but can you imagine Rob Grants face if someone did do that ?

This is a quote today from one Diamonds fan who has been going to nearly every home meeting since 1975 from the age of 11 ….. I am not going today to watch that sh*te, I am staying in to watch Liverpool v Everton …….. Wonder how many other fans were saying the same thing ?

Is Tom Brennan the first World Champion to ride for the diamonds since Nicki guested for us at Poole in Bjarne’s testimonial ?

And what about the finances of the home clubs .. Poor crowds turning up to watch the Diamonds and then their promotion having to pay out 60+ points for the meeting

I have been going to Brough for 43 years now and for 40 of them years I used to pay my entrance money to watch the Owens, Hunter, Bargh, Pedersen( Nicki and Bjarne)Stuart Robson Larson, Bach and Lambert etc Now when I pay my entrance money I say I am going to watch Cook, Masters, Pickering, Nicholls, Charles Wright, Kerr and the Worralls etc …. Notice the common theme ? I used to go to be excited by my teams riders now I look forward to seeing the opposition teams riders

Jason Edwards, Conner Coles ( just) and Leon Flint

Any of the other 10 teams look strong compared to Newcastle at the minute

Heard a rumour that the brand new floodlights at the stadium only cover the dog track and not the speedway track….. so probably not if that is true

15 minutes ago, szkocjasid said:I don't think that would've been the case, it was well documented that there was a lack of riders due to Covid / Brexit / Polish rules.
The main difference was the RS rule gave Danyon Hume a Champ spot (deservedly) & allowed for stronger guests at reserve (e.g Leon Flint replacing weaker riders)!
What is defined as a rising star .. You are always going to get problems… if the rule had of been around in the 70’s and 80’s Kenny Carter would of been a rising star, Michael Lee would of been a rising star, Gary Havelock would of been a rising star the list could go on, so there will always be riders at reserve who are better than others at a young age which would sh@ft the ruling to keep reserves equal

Keep it to yourself
Now I know your making things up…………….
They have never had blokes selling the Chronicle for years in town

BERWICK v NEWCASTLE (Championship) Sat 30th 7pm
in SGB Championship League Speedway

Not riding a track because it’s dangerous is fair enough but not as good an excuse as the Newcastle junior rider on Saturday who ( allegedly) didn’t ride the Berwick track because it was too big for him
