Rob Grant is leaving what do you want him to do get on the Mic and say just for you Keith am really really leaving... there are things going on behind the scenes that Rob isn't aware of and its English syncophants like you who have compounded the problem so either get with the programme and come up with something positive or shut your trolling hole and let some Speedway fans not suck holes try and save the situation...
So here's the plan you get ya pension spent and take it on yourself ... I'll pay to watch from the terraces and then come on here and moan on about everything from the team the parking the programme the cost and the strength of the coffee and while all that is going on you run the effing club...
Believe it or not there are some people behind the scenes trying to coordinate things so the club keeps going....

Why does asking Rob Grant to update the fans seen as a negative response … It was a genuine question .. Why can’t he address the fans after all the few who have paid to watch this season have managed to keep Newcastle going to the end of the season …. As for programme ( match day magazine) it is not just me who has said it is not as good as other seasons .. As for money I would hate to think how much I have put into Newcastle speedway over 42 years and other clubs with all my away trips over the years …. Your allowed an opinion so why can’t I ? And it shows how much you know me as I don’t drink coffee so why would I complain !!

Why should it be up to you to update fans? Why can’t Rob Grant take the mic on Sunday and tell everyone where we are at ?

54 minutes ago, TotallyHonestJohn said:it will be fair and rain free but wrap up because it will feel cold as it pulled in a bit against Edinburgh and was feeling a bit nippy before the end.
Oh and buy your ticket on line or get there early as the stadium capacity for the crowd is 2500... lol... I have been told that everyone who has ever been there and been a fan from over the last 50 years will be there on Sunday night so you have been warned...
Regards
THJWell if that’s the case ( and regarding the crowd I hope it is) do you think the turnstiles could open at 5:00pm so we don’t get a delayed start due to the crowd still entering the stadium.. Also I hope they print enough programmes as they allegedly sold out for the Kent meeting which was not a massive crowd

Does anyone know how much was collected for the speedway riders benevolent fund as I knew nothing of it until I read my programme when back in house and I didn’t hear Barry announce anything or see any riders collecting … though I have since heard a few juniors were going around the stadium but they definitely didn’t come anywhere near I where I was standing on the main terraces

As the owner it’s totally within Rob’s gift to make the call that he did but IMHO it is Newcastle who have lost out the most from that situation as Roy has continued to build his reputation at Redcar this season while the match night production at Newcastle this season has been rather poor.
Also with Newcastle needing the cash I know for a fact ( Redcar duties permitting) that Roy would of attended all the home meetings this season as he did the first one against Edinburgh as a paying customer … so there is around £200 Rob could of gained

Because Belle Vue replaced him with Buck Jacobsen on a 28 day contract… Even though Buck Jacobsen is now injured they can’t put Richie back in until the 28 days are up ….. Yet another simple rule for speedway fans to follow lol

Just to add I thought the programme was the best I have seen for £3 for many a season. Very impressed in the quality.
Compared to previous seasons I think this years is well down on other years( not the worst) .. Hardly any reading in it….. And with having nearly 4,000 speedway programmes in my collection I think I know a good one

10 hours ago, TotallyHonestJohn said:and on RC.. it was Roy who decided to take it upon himself to denigrate Newcastle at a Redcar meeting which got back to Rob and I believe they have discussed the matter which is now closed and at the end of the day Roy can say what he wants but Rob has the right to protect his business... furthermore Roy was an on cost on the centre green which Rob decided to save upon... personally I like Roy's cheesy craic some don't hes a bit marmite but over 20 meetings in a pre-covid normal season it is a 2k saving that could be better spent elsewhere I assume.

Not going to get into any arguments about your other points as I know nothing about them so you could be correct in what you are saying, but on Roy ( or RC as you call him)I have been a mate of his for nearly 40 years and 1. I was at the meeting at Redcar where you say he denigrated Newcastle speedway .. He did not !! All he said on the mic was “ Newcastle speedway had gave up a meeting and Redcar had jumped in and were now holding it and if you now want to see some of the best British youngsters on one of speedways finest tracks come along next Thursday to see all the action … He did not criticise Newcastle he praised Redcar ( big difference) .. 2. As previously stated I have known Roy nearly 40 years and in the past few years when he has done centre green announcing I have never known him take a penny from Newcastle speedway for doing that job (or any job for Newcastle Speedway) I asked him again last night and he categorically told me he never got paid a penny at Newcastle for centre green announcing (and having trusted him to be best man at my wedding and Godfather to my daughter I have no reason to believe he would lie to me)so I don’t know where your figure of £100 a meeting came from but it is wrong … Other points you make may or may not be correct but I think you are wrong on the one about Roy getting paid

Scruffy stadium (could do with some cheap smartening up)
Main stand had almost no lighting
Positives:
Nice stadium with lots of potential
Make your mind up !!!

So how can clubs cancel fixtures against Eastbourne ( or visa versa ) if the announcement isn’t until Tuesday? What if they announce everything is fine and they are continuing, what was the point in postponing the fixtures before the announcement?

We welcome Benjamin Basso to the number 2 berth which has been filled with guests since the dropping of Aussie Zane Keleher. By the look of it we have ourselves a talent, but he will need time to bed in so mustn’t expect too much from him for this one.
We pasted Newcastle a couple of weeks ago in their own patch and think this one could go in a similar direction. Hopefully they will put up a fight.
Think you could be looking at another 60+ score .. Was at Redcar last night and Benjamin Basso definitely looks a good prospect. Spoke to him after the meeting and his English is brilliant and he seems to have what it takes to get to the top

Wasn’t too bad Steve .. Quite a few Glasgow fans amongst the crowd

Heavy shower made track too wet and dangerous.. Two riders came down on first bend in first attempt to run heat 14

Well done Poole on an outstanding performance.. I said they would win well but not even I thought it would of been 29-61….. Was a real pleasure to meet and chat to Steve Shovlar and Shaleshifter .. Hope you enjoyed your time “ Up North”

5 minutes from stadium .. Heavy shower now but hopefully it’s what the track needs and blue sky in the distance so should be no problems

Can only see an away win with your lot having 3 ex Newcastle riders ( including 2 number 1’s) in your side plus Rory Schlein who has rode the track umpteen times and won individual titles there .. Hope to see you tomorrow and say hello

Didn’t you get beat 45-44 at Eastbourne?

If the league takes priority as they imply Edinburgh still have to visit Birmingham in the league so why not just change Wednesday to the league fixture and the Edinburgh fans who had planned on going wouldn’t be left out of pocket !!

Just read this weeks Speedway Star.. Can anyone tell me what page the Newcastle release is on about their much needed win over Berwick, the sad news that they need a massive crowd this Sunday or speedway might not survive or the preview of Bjarne Pedersen ,Jason Crump, Danny King, Rory Schlein and fans favourite Stevie Worrall all being on track this weekend ( weather permitting) as with it been Britain’s leading Speedway magazine the publicity would be fantastic

THJEXACTLY what I said on F/B and I got crucified for it .. I said the Redcar fans helped swell the crowd greatly but it was still a poor crowd for a Tyne-Tees derby
